I don't care what he wears; we're all grown and can make our own decisions. Let him wear what he likes. My only point is, if he took my clothes, he wouldn't be pro. I also find him boring. Yeah the Stevie thing was wack but we all make mistakes when we're young. I will stick to the lack of switch thing. It's lame to be able to count a pros switch tricks on one hand.

personally, i think style is a personal opinion which cannot be universally measured, which mostly always depends on my mood. i like watching duffel, and it gets me hyped to skate. whatever, i guess. then again, as long as your deciding your opinion over reasons that are relevant to his actual skateboarding and no image-related garbage, i respect your opinion. just sayin. i am bummed he comes off as such a dick in interviews though, won't argue that, really different in person.

He has filmed one ledge trick...and? I assume you mean combo tricks, that flip-in flip-out stuff. If that is what you're looking for don't look for it with him. Two switch tricks ever filmed. Not intending to compare style here but simply board orientation, it wasn't until the switch flip down the UCI 9 in Sight Unseen did Heath filming switch. Recalling a quote from heath when asked why he didn't skate switch previous to that he replied, "Switch stance skating is boring." Duffel grew up and found prominence in a skate culture similar to the early 90's in many respects. "The bigger the better" replaced the old mantra "the more flips the better" of early street. (Re)watch the OnVideo segment on the importance of style. The cream rose to the top in the mid 90's and cuts were made because it didn't matter simply that you were doing such and such a combo, but that you handled it gracefully. Being a pro is largely based on marketing yourself. Duffel is the stunt rail punk and just that. He is not an intelligent individual. After all, his daily regiment seems to be throwing himself down the type of stuff in his parts whether he's filming or not. For comparison, Heath has said he skates curbs when he isn't filming. Mongoloid grinds vs. Strictly Business.

you cant even compare sheckler to duffel. duffel definitly goes bigger with more basic tricks, i think hes a pretty creative rail skater (ollie over the top to 5-0 down a 10 stair round rail).

It's still embarrassing that a PRO skater does a 5-0 shuv out in a line. I'm not talking about the guy getting on some Jesus Fernandez type shit, but for me to be interested by him I want to see something that takes a little bit of skill. Plus he has the worst push in skateboarding. And he's done the same rail tricks for years now. He just does them down 1 stair bigger...

Yeah I just realized how many times I've mentioned it. I guess I just think that a pro should have more tricks than that. That's the only ledge trick I've seen from him.

The SLAP popularity contest has gotten so fucking far out of hand, and it pretty much reflects how out of hand skating has become. SLAP is full of jocks, complete with the gang rape mentality. and vice versa. i was watching feed the need today and in corey duffel's part, i noticed two things: his part has an insane amount of filler, and a lot of tricks are overlooked because of that. i watched his part paying attention to every single trick, instead of looking around the room or staring, but not watching, like i usually do when his part comes on, and he actually does some sick shit. that rail that he noseblunts as his second to last trick is seriously up to my shoulder, maybe a little higher. he also does some creative shit like nosegrab lipslides, fs halfcabs the street gap in sf, and some other stuff. sheckler rips, but you don't really see him doing anything that everyone else isn't doing. then again, i wouldn't expect duffel to do a bs smith stall 270 flip out on tranny or hardflip a 16.

Skate can be played on tranny, flatground, launch ramps, gaps... anywhere you can do tricks. Try it sometime, it's fun.

I'd say the consensus is split, as much as i don't like his style (choice of clothing,terrain and body movements), I can look at what he does on a skateboard and respect the rawness and sheer skill he has. It doesn't mean I need/want to see it though.
Tolerance of others is something that doesn't seem to exist in this place at times. I realize a forum full of respectful like minded people is boring as hell. But sometimes it bums me out when some refuse to acknowledge they can see where someone is coming from.
I am sure there will be some goodness in this video, hopefully tws tries a new format and stops using the same one they've over killed the last 5 years or so. Try something new or expect everyone to download it for free.
