the vx1 does make it easier to produce nice looking footage, but they are old, and they dont make parts for them anymore, so repairing them is naturally a problem, more expensive in the long run.

Personally, and this is just me, but I like to get the best that is available out there, regardless of it's cost. I just can't see myself choosing a VX-2000 setup over a VX-1000 because I'll save a little cash in the end. That would be a very Jewish thing to do, and I'm not Jewish
