Nike seems to go in waves with their dunk releases over the years, but they will always want to keep the hypebeast people happy and keep things limited.
I don't think it's ever been that easy to get the normal puffy tongue dunks, but they've done countless reiterations of dunks like the thin tongue/Ishod, the Elite sock Dunks, ect.. that were easy to find sitting on shelves. Those don't have the collector base that an "original" dunk has.
It's very disappointing when then Dunk is usually crafted much better than 90% of skate shoes out there and their incredibly durable. So many people would pay $90 no questions asked and keep buying them if they were available.
I've only had a few pairs over the course of all these years because of that when I would probably have bought 20 pairs.
