Its Thrasher. They blacklist people. Does Jamie still post? He was blacklisted at one point I think. No photos or talk of them is allowed in the mag. I think his was hard enough that companies were/are scared to sponsor him out of fear that they may not be in the magazine. I could imagine a lot of people saying "We would sponsor you Danny, but you know, we don't want to get in the middle of the whole thrasher thing"

I can believe the whole Phelps banning issue because I talked to Steve Caballero in 03' when he was on the Warped Tour in NJ. I was trying to get him to skate the Asbury pool before demolition but to my suprise he was super sour & unseasonably salty on the pool skating scene because back then I'm assuming the whole pool skating trend was in full swing media-wise. He had the attitude of been there done that 30 years ago. Between the Alzheimers and the weed I can't remember whether Cab told me or I read it somewhere else but Phelps allegedly said the same thing about Steve, that he would be banned from Thrasher.

Alright, the wallride is just nuts. Everyone looks at it and is like wow he went upside down. But they don't realize how fucking hard it is to skate that spot. The run up is rough, the bank is super mellow and it's hard to wall ride let alone get up to the bridge on top.  It seems like you'd have to be pulled in by a fucking motorcycle just to get up there.

Danny is one real-ass dude. Everytime i've talked with him, whether it was a quick hello or a 20 minute discussion he was always nice and was NEVER a dick. I don't know what happened to him and Thrasher but whatever, the dude is still skating without sponsors and destroying shit and creating tricks. That's what it's all about, he is creative and he has a good time when he skates.

Congrats on the sponsorship, your skills need to be seen

Phelps seems like a guy who would freak and hold grudges... But Idk I havn't met him and this is just one incident of him acting unreal.

Phelps probably doesn't remember even saying that. Dude just screams out random shit, and 90% of it involves him trying to motivate everybody around him to skate hard. A lot of people take it the way your friend did though.
the blacklisting is a different situation that revolves around the same God Complex that Phelps has though.

And I thought Danny lost the lawsuit because the court said Thrasher could publish a picture that they owned the rights to as many times as they wanted after they bought it once. That's not the case?
