« on: October 12, 2014, 09:42:37 AM »

I remember a lot of dudes on here getting really excited about the release of these, but I didn't see many of you guys wearing em.

How did you like them?  There is a crazy good sale on these on SPOT

They look like good chillers. I'm not sure if I would want to skate them, it's funny though a lot of people whine about vulc shoes and then when a company makes a shoe that isn't vulc no one buys them (unless it's Nike).

seem to perform and last super good! friend of mine skated them for 3- 4 months and skated at least 4 times a week- shoe still lasts.

There was a big to-do about them before they were released but they weren't really the throwback shoe they were first presented as. Just a basic, thin, modern cupsole with a some rubber on the toe. They are essentially the same, padding wise, as the Herman and the Reynolds.

They are a decent shoe and if you add your own insole you can have a reasonably padded shoe.

Really good shoe currently skating my 2nd pair, the toe has surprisingly good board feel for a cupsole and the heel has great stability. The runner toe kinda wears down fast but besides that it took me a good 2-3 weeks of skating to see any real wear in the suede and sole. Recommend them for sure.

They slimmed up the reynolds, g6 and westgate so if you have a wider foot chances are they wont fit.
I too liked the old g6 and reynolds, they fit wide but looked kind of bulky.
The westgates I tried on felt just like the slimmer g6, couldn't do it.

I have a wider foot and the westgates fit me fine.
How long ago did they slim down? I feel like the Reynolds were always slim but every other shoe has felt great on my foot.

Tried some on at the skate shop today, felt like they would skate really well. Wanted to pull the trigger on that SPOT sale so badly but just could not let myself buy more shoes ( already sitting on about 10+ pairs now). I will probably try some before the year is out though

They're great shoes, just not runner/supportive/hybrids like we were led to believe initially. Just snug, comfortable, cupsole skate shoes. Can't beat em at 25 bucks.

The shoe that turned me away from the runner trend quickly was the Lunar Gato. Nike.com has em for 40 bucks each.

On my second pair now (white/black), which i've found for 25euros, pretty good deal since i bought my first pair (black/grey) last year for 100euros.

They skate great, good grip, fast flick and all that jazz; too bad they aren't as popular as i had expected

might want to get another pair for walking if i find them for cheap

It was right after they released the first batch of colorways. I believe Emerica hired A new tooling person and he made all their shoes sleeker with more shelf appeal. While they do look better, they do not work for me anymore.

I'm loving my pair.  They took a little longer to break in than the Herman G6 that I had before them, but they are a super snug shoe.  They're really comfortable.  It takes a little bit to wear down the grip, but only 30 minutes to an hour or so.  After that, they're fine.  I've skated then for about three or four hours and my suede is just starting to get barely touched.  The outsole is taking most of the damage and holding up well itself, so these should last a while.

Your assessment is spot on. These are skate shoes for sure. Mine showed up today. They feel great. And for the record on sizing, I got a 10.5 even though I usually wear a 10 and it is just fine. There is a little extra toe room right at the tip but they would be narrow in the toe box otherwise.
