I was surprised the ranked DGK so high, but I totally agree that DGK graphics are better and I’d  rather skate one of the street racer graphics than any the other stuff shown.

What blew my mind was habitat, I didn’t realize how meh and collab heavy they had become.

Twin Peaks graphic just looks like a modern game graphic, got that flash animation cut out look to it... and the pattern at the bottom is obviously the lodge floor pattern... how that graphic is supposedly disgusting compared to the fucking complete and utter dogshit design of the Limosine Stallion graphic is truly beyond me. Different opinions and all but sometimes you get flabbergasted.

Even remotely positive comments about anything with a clown face on it = clear psychopath.

Absolutely. I’m way too old to be an angsty teen and they are the best/most interesting board brand by a great distance. It’s kind of fucked they don’t have better taste, but I think they are trying to project “coolness” by pretending they are 10 steps ahead of what actually IS cool. This is also why they pretend to like dogshit DGK graphics, despite admitting they’d never buy one 🙄

I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a joke or serious, but it was entertaining either way. Honestly I liked some of the twin peaks series as well as the arto reissue.

I don't get the hype on either one of these dudes.  They're both lame to me and Gifted Hater has an annoying ass voice.  This video is also edited weirdly.

I don't know, I feel the same way about Hockey, I ve seen way too many SERIOUS skaters riding them. Obviously not all the people buying them are trendy cool skaters who take themself too seriously but that's what they (and I) associate the brand with. I also completly understand the DGK cool factor.
And I am pretty sur they re not pretending, they just put too much thought into the graphics (that's their gimmick and what's make them fun and interesting to watch imo). If you want lukewarm skate opinion that most people share that's not the right people to watch. I sometimes don't relate with their point of view and that's okay.

Also Plan B graphics are insanly bad but I knew a guy in Bordeaux who was only buying plan b and he was like 24. It was the first time I saw one in the wild.

i love gifted hater and i never really cared for ted. that being said, this video really projected super pretentious art student vibes. in line with what’s been mentioned, their take on hockey is very wrong (although subjective) and their take on the glue crass ripoff was also wrong. i get what they were saying about the younger hockey demographic, but look at caleb barnetts pro model for example. so sick with a good backstory. the kevin rodrigues graphic that was an original drawing of his. “but that dgk graphic is sick” to who? the dude who made it because they got paid for it? i don’t know, there’s plenty of brands i don’t care for up there, but some of em they didn’t even give them a chance and the whole attitude was just kind of lame. also him making a jab at Real boards although it was the same exact graphic that jim thiebaud sent him was offputting.

Andrew Allen's Shotgun graphic is a great example of this it's simple, effective, (yes I know it's a Deliverance rip) and looks way better than the ones shown. The other critique I thought was wrong was Hockey taking themselves too seriously so much of their shit is laced in irony I thought everyone kind of caught on to it. If you go to FA's site there are two Hockey graphics specifically that are clearly ironic angsty middle/high schooler boards.

Dunno who gifted hater is but I thought this was pretty funny/entertaining.

I don’t care for Hockey or FA and don’t see myself skating either brand ever again but I really liked both of these graphics, especially the Donovan one, the shadow/texture looks sick (can never look past that fools pants tho):

Yes but sometimes 'by hand' means directly ripping something, like the liquid metal graphic.

DGK was the best choice to put above Hockey to get the Hockey fans riled up because if they put Plan B on top it would be an obvious troll, but they played their cards just right, like when you call 9 Hearts in a game of 500 and you don't have the joker but you win the 9 anyway.

My first professional job was in a small office. It was close quarters with three other ppl (a Muslim, 2 gay dudes and an old divorcee), and we would always play pranks on each other. It was all love but nothing was sacred; we found out each other's passions, vulnerabilities and eccentricities and would explioit them on a regular basis for everyone's general amusement.

One of the gay guys was really critical of hip hop culture; I guess he'd had some bad experiences with "gangsters" driving by gay clubs and shouting homophobic slurs and throwing things at the patrons. Pretty fucked up, so I can somewhat understand where his strong feelings come from, even though I try not to make sweeping generalizations myself.

Anyways, it was the week leading up to the 2006 Oscars and he was championing "Brokeback Mountain" pretty heavily for Best Picture, always talking it up, saying how it'd be a historic day for the Academy, etc. With only a couple days to go, me and the Muslim dude concocted a plan where we would inform the gay dude, in a completely deadpan manner, upon his arrival one morning that "Brokeback Mountain" had been disqualified on a minor technicality and was no longer in the running for Best Picture.

"Which film replaced it?" he demanded to know.

Without looking from my computer, I told him matter of factly: "Hustle & Flow"

It took him about 15 minutes of googling to figure out we were lying but it was a glorious 15 minutes.

Maybe, maybe not.  There's a point when you consider the Creature graphics look like actual skateboard graphics, with skulls and swords and stuff just like the good old days, whereas the graphic on that Austyn guitar board just looks like total pigshit in any context. In other words, the Creature graphics do a better job of being skateboard graphics than others might.

GH was on Vent City, and I have to say...I used to be sort of annoyed by him, but when juxtaposed against the Ted Schmitz "I have to make a joke after every point that everyone makes at all times" energy, he was quite soothing.
