I’m guessing am. All the big names went pro this year and Samarria is someone the majority of us got hyped on during the summer, so I think she’ll get the bump up after Street League or a part. Max Palmer and Yonnie went back to am after moving to bigger companies
Something I keep thinking about is it better for the more popular female skaters to build up female centric brands or is it better to integrate (for lack of a better word) into established companies and be more visible. I love that none of it feels like it’s tokenism and that if a “guy” brand adds a female skater, it feels organic

I think you underestimate the amount of girls that actually skate, the addition of Samarria is only gonna help the brand tap into a different market that will only increase overall sales. This whole skate thing is still a business at the end of the day.

Again, leticia isn't just "a girl." she's had several marketing forces behind her, inundating the market with her image; selling more than just skating. Only time will tell if Plan B will continue to post those numbers based on Leticia and the same goes for Enjoi and Samarria.

Samarria does good in contests and she will probably do well at the olympics. not sure why nobody has mentioned the olympic angle yet but look for all the major brand camps to add females in the next year. Dwindle needs a girl on the roster for that. She did better on the KOTR tryout than Enzo and made the team. Hoolpa is a terrible brand through powell that has no marketing and no industry clout so im stoked for her that shes on a legit brand now even. I hope she can come through and make cool fun videos with Enjoi and not blow it like countless others.

Well put, maybe with the increase in women moving up to bigger brands companies like Hoopla and Meow may get recognition before they get their riders stolen. As well as female riders getting picked up by companies willing to pay.

Annoys me when people say some of these girls don't deserve to be pro or aren't on a "pro level".
The fact is, most aren't on the same level as male pros, its true and quite obvious, but it doesn't matter. We shouldn't just wait for the day to come where some girl is on a Nyjah level of skating to say she deserves being pro. The girls becoming pro now are paving the way for female skaters in the future, and making a lot more females interested in skating and pushing for progression, and because of this they will just keep getting better and better.
It's the same as NBA vs. WNBA. It's not a fair comparison. Skill-wise WNBA players are on par with decent male high school players. That shouldn't matter. It's rad the girls are out there doing it.
