I vaguely remember one of yall saying they were winding down their skate program, was that speculation based on nike acquisition?
i mean nike's owned converse since 2003 so i feel like if they were gonna ramp down programs it would've been a while ago
I said "something" maby you misunderstood me.
I think everything Converse is doing ist just marketing to sell more Chuck Taylor, also Nike only bought in - to have that best selling / cheapest in production sneaker in the porfolio. But this message was not Cons/ Nike Skateboarding related- for them Skateboarding is only marketing anyway.
It was a general statement. Chuck Tayler is the license to print money. bought my first one 35 years ago and since then there where no time that the majority of the kids didt rock them. All other shoes had highs and lows - but Chuck is running well since forever. Super cheap in production and everyone is buying the same 5 color ways.
They absolutely dont gave a a flying fuck about producing and selling a dope skateshoe.
A "cool" collab - or a Louie Colorway ist just social media content.
