Correct me if I'm wrong but does Vans currently has the most Pro models in their line compared to its rivals?

Vans has Crockett, Chima, Walker, TNT, Cab (counts right?), and now Berle. The closest I can think of would be Emerica with Reynolds, Figgy, Romero, and Provost.

I saw the Ave posted but I wasn’t sure if it was a one off or not. If were counting that then theoretically you could throw in Templeton, Kirchart, and a few other people on to Emerica for the seasonal/reserve one offs and Reynolds revivals like the G6. But either way its probably Vans. I havent checked out DC for a bit either now that I think about it. They might be in the lead with all the revival shoes they’re doing.

If I'm not mistaken, I'm fairly certain Vans uses the same few versions of their tooling for their entire line of product. Much less expensive to make pro shoes if that's the case. Also they make so much money from pop culture that royalties are probably chump change

My guess is that it's probably like ordering a new vehicle from a dealership. You can choose some different shapes, colours, and materials for the panels and such, but they already have a base "model" you need to work off of.

I’ll be honest. I actually kind of like how they look, it’s for the best that the consensus is that they are gross, hopefully that translates to easy pickings once they hit sale. I’m going to have to wait and see what colorways pop out, although I know my feet will hate me for putting through Vans.

I feel like vans having. More pro models than most is more based on doubling down on skate in recent years. They made the versions of the classics to appease people who always skated em but use the pro models to try different tech and styles. I think it’s more cause vans has 3 classic shoes and a relatively small skate team let alone the athletes the bigger guys have. They can afford to do more pro models and it saves the money on doing the random non pro skate shoes cause they can slap a little new tech on a pro shoe and it’s guaranteed to sell a little better because of the name.
