Torey's style is one of the weirdest and most distinctive that I can think of, doesn't that mean he's the opposite of a "robot"?

^ Unless robot means inhumanly talented, Torey is a robot, if it means he has generic style, he definitely isn't.

on a related note, i wanna see all of those street league dudes actually skate some tranny. they highlight some aspects of skating, stair jumping, ledge dancing,... but no tranny

I would watch Tranny League, but I think I would have to have a monthly subscription, and a lot of kleenex and vaseline

Shit already exists homie.

Also, Briden is bitching about what counts as an impossible clearly from the perspective of somebody who has never even tried to do one. Get the fuck out of here you fucking spectator.
When you learn to do impossibles for real, they start of flipping like 360 shove its about half the time. Most people do the sideways kind of impossible because its pretty tough to not point your toe when you are whipping it around. When you point your toe, the board gets sideways when it twirls around it.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”

david is sick, such good style.   also hard to hate because he rips the shit of tranny too.     i can't believe some people are saying that was not an impossible....SLAP amazes me sometimes.   templeton's are vertical because he is making sure the tail lands in the general area of his hands so he can grab onto it.   Dylan's impossible over the NY benches was not super vertical either, still an impossible.

when i think of Not-An-Impossible i think of Dave Mayhew's tailslide "impossible" out in the storm.

this might not be the case, but I always though impossibles were named impossibles because they were effectively a full vertical flip of the board - something that probably seemed, um, impossible in the early days of flip tricks.

Nah dylans was about as upright as they get. I don't mean totally vertical, but the way people were doing them back in the day had more of an up and over, than the totally flat shove it version, people are doing now. It doesn't matter that much, because impossibles are lame anyway, but i still don't like how 360 shoves and impossibles somehow became the same trick. I do impossibles and 360 shoves, how am i going to explain to some kid I'm playing skate that they're different tricks, if the almighty decider of rules in skate says they're the same trick?

That's exactly what I was getting at. It's like someone doing a pressure flip and calling it an inward heel because they actually think that's what it is.

this is true, but these days it basically only means a skateboarder that is so talented and skates with such perfection that it is almost impossible to relate to.   it is easy for me to relate to a skateboarder with "organic urban lines".  that is what my friends and i do, just get off the subway, push along with no destination, cruise and do fun tricks.   if i am watching skateboarding i want to see some ridiculous shit i could never imagine doing.    give me robots please

That's the shit i hate. They think the only people that are skating down the street are the people that film it. And seriously filming that type of skating is lame, and is way more contrived than actually going to a spot and killing. You know damn well those dudes are taking several tries to film that lame shit. That defeats the whole purpose, and it's giving people a false representation of what's really going down.

Actually, I believe the variflex team were known as the "varobots" as early as the late 70's.

The difference between a 360 shove and an impossible is not how vertical it is, its the way the board wraps around the foot.
impossibles are lame... ...I do impossibles
I love you.

Impossibles are lame, i can do a shitload of lame tricks. The difference between me and a lame person, is i realize they're lame, and shouldn't be done outside of fucking around, or in a game of skate.

You do understand a trick being lame or not is completely subjective.
