Watching this Liverpool melt down the last few weeks has been really refreshing.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

This had to be posted before the Burnley game?

Oh no. I'm well aware of my own team's current short comings. You have to take your joy where you can get it.

Could everyone here spare a quick thought for my West Ham supporting friend...he took his son on a hiking/camping trip this weekend, but his son wasn't feeling great after the 1st night so they hiked out early...only to get hoke in time for a serious beat down by Chelsea.

My mate is a huge West ham fan, he's from that part of London. I have a soft spot for the team because of him. Shame that Moyes looks like will leave.

He’s already gone and replaced by Lopetegui

Just saw that!

My club here has a pretty random season... 12 wins, 12 draws, 12 loses.. 40 goals for and 40 goals against.

Absolutely, I'm a big soccer fan! It’s nice to see more people in the US getting into it. I've been following local leagues and international matches for years, and it's the unpredictability and the global aspect that keep me hooked. Every game feels like a celebration of diverse cultures and tactics.

PUTAIN DE MERDE DE CHIER DE BORDEL DE MERDE.
me and my kids were screaming at the TV, don't think I've ever seen a team hit the woodwork so many times over 2 games... Fair play to Dortmund though, they defended really well and just took their chances.

Yellow wall > Qatar

that's unfair IMO. if you took money out of the equation and only talent counted, Paris would destroy every club every year....At the last WC, 28 players and 2 coaches came from Paris area  (playing for France, Portugal, Cameroon, Tunisia, and even Qatar). The Paris area produces more pro players than any other place on earth....(second being Sao Paulo area in Brazil)

edit: according to Sofoot magazine, in the french, spanish, german, english and italian leagues, players from Paris area represent 10% of all players......

I'm referencing the fact the 50+1 rule. Dortmund are at least half owned by the fans not blood oil money. Also I live in a tourist area...you know the rep of parisiens...we give them all stick..even the lyonnaise.. I'd back Marseille if had that to pick a ligue 1 team just because of their strong antifa messages etc from their ultras. Red Star of course is cool.

Anyways it's all light-hearted fun. I don't know if watching Harry Kane or Jude Bellingham lose against Dortmund would be more funny...

oh yeah I know your Grenoble mates have been feeding you anti-Paris propaganda for years!   ;D
let me try to counter that:
-the biggest tourist destination in france is.....Paris.
-90% of the "Parisiens" acting like assholes on holidays are not from Paris, they just moved there to further their career. And then they claim it, like NY transplants claim the city even though they did not grow up there at all.
-finally, the antifa message vs reality: 40 % of Marseille voters voted for Le Pen, vs 15% of Paris voters.

I rest my case.   :P
(I might be ranting here sorry, I guess I'm still pissed off from last night!!)

About voting the amount of folk that live here and can't vote is insane. Even I can't vote..so of course the old rich french folk in both city's vote for the Nazis...hence the 40%...I bet that city has the lowest ratio of people that can vote vs the ones that cannot.

Anyways when you coming down this way next?

This Irish/French banter reminds me of Gaelic football, where money is indeed not in the equation and players play for their county only. (Correct me if that's wrong.) How different football would be. Better?

Paris would surely be insane. There is Athletic Bilbao of course, who do this. Any others?

Mazraoui offside was very close. Ref should never call that in the moment. Still not convinced he was off, can't tell with De Ligt in the way.

Real does what Real does.

Maybe this isn't the worst outcome for Dortmund. They beat Bayern away not that long ago of course, but a weak point of Madrid is defending set pieces, particularly corners, which suits Dortmund pretty well. Just repeat the tactic used against PSG: sit deep (don't give the pacy forwards any space to get pacy in, don't give the midfield any space to get creative in), and offensively just go for long balls to Fullkrug for him to hold the ball as Sancho and Adeyemi come and link up with him.

Obviously Madrid's going to win, but I'm trying to find a little bit of hope.
