it didn't leak. it was the "take away show" version that somebody ripped an mp3 of.

anyone ever listen to the song "from a beach"? its labeled as bluish on that link but its definitely not bluish. not going to be on the new album, but its becoming a favorite of mine for sure

lol for that pic. thx for posting that preview or whatever, i've been looking for new mp3s of 'on a highway' and 'from a beach' ever since i lost mine.  both really good tracks, i hope they put out the traditional post-album ep w/ those two songs and 'grace'.  'grace' and 'beach' are so bubbly and cartoony and 'on a highway' is probably the AC song that freaks me out the most, who knows what the studio versions could be like.

check in that zip file for a folder. i downloaded it and it has the mp3 versions in a separate folder.

hahaah that pic is awesome. yeah their harmonies on no more runnin are so good. ive always said this, but animal collective sounds like a disfunctional circus or carnival at times, and grace further proves it hah. theyre on some other shit with that song. and how do you write a melody over that? truly talented people.

holy fuck. best christmas present ever, for real. summertime clothes=song of 2009 for sure. and holy shit, in the flowers is such a good fucking intro track, those drums gave me the chills when they came in. looks like im having a listening party at my apt tonight! haha


only gripes with the album thusfar though:
-i wouldve liked to hear more live drum stuff on some of the songs
-although you can hear a little bit of their tribal sounding influence, its much less than on other albums, im missing it a lot. case in point, i wanted to hear more of what was going on in the first 15 seconds of 'also frightened'
-gets a little too panda bear-ish at times.
-not enough yelling from avey/vocals sound too smoothed over at times

that being said, i LOVE the album. pretty much what i expected and then some, and i had some high expectations for this album too

I concur. I really miss Avey's yelping on the summertime clothes track. I think in the flowers is a great way to open the album. I also think summertime clothes will be the album's hit. Maybe brother sport.

this is the only thing ive listened to for the past 4 days. then i woke up this morning and deleted it off my computer. hopefully that makes it a little more enjoyable when i get my copy on the 21st. this is probably the only time in my life i've preordered anything.
