I created another tumblr ... http://apictureofbrandon.tumblr.com/ - the name is inspired by the chico brenes quote in the chocolate tour.

Hahaha yeah I turn 21 next month. Maybe because of the pic of Slash? I always associate what I think people look like with their avatar. To me DaSk8Dood is actually Cam'ron, Grim is actually that dude from Hobo With a Shotgun (even though I've seen his face plenty), and Matze is actually that kid from The Cosby Show :)

I still remember when I thought Tate was white and thought COTG was a wigger or something. The only person I know by face is Grim. Everyone else is just phantoms with big personalities.

This building (Elbphilharmonie Hamburg) looks almost just as ugly as a few years ago. It costs like 10-times as much as they predicted and will never have the same status as the opera of Melbourne for example, it's a complete waste of resources in my opinion. Makes me angry everytime I see it... =[
still nice pics though =]

Trendy, are you familiar with the work of Zoe Strauss?  Your signage pics share some commonalities; "Diapermart" is great btw.

Nevermind, I know who you're talking about. Saw an article on her work on PDN a week back or so.

Has anyone done daguerreotype, wet plate collodion, tintype, or anything like that?

Someone offered me an 11x14 camera and I'm thinking about what I could do with it other than b&w film.

Any insight on large format cameras and historical processes would be appreciated.  I figure whatever I do will be complicated and expensive.

It depends on the situation for me. If it's at an event or something, I'm completely fine with it. Some days I'm just super confident whether I'm taking candid shots or street portraits. Some days I'm really shy and don't want to get into the possibility of a confrontation. I've never been in a situation like that, but I have plenty of friends who have.

I did at first, but now i tend to try and make it look like im not getting them in shot. like ill see them looking at me through the viewfinder and ill aim upwards or some shit then recompose when i think theyre not looking. Also i tend to not care what people think of me so unless they come upto me and confront me about it, then i just carry on as usual

hey guys ive got a question.

Im looking for a fast prime (somewhere around f1.4 / 50mm) and i was looking at this "Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM" but since i have a APS-C sensor it would be more like an 85mm length. so can anyone recomend a fast prime for an aps-c sensor ?

i guess the sigma 30mm f1.4 would be that lens. or, if you are still on pentax and have a shitload of money and want the best, the 31mm f1.8 is your dream.

maybe check that site, they have great user-reviews of basically everything that ever fit on a pentax.

The thing is i was looking for a bit more than 30, i got a 35mm 2.8 pentax for christmas and was just looking for a slightly longer length. (and unfortunatley cannot afford the 31mm anyway)

Thinking about it now, ive allready got a 50mm manual glass from the k1000, so my next question is how usefull would a prime 85mm(ish) lens be for everyday shooting?
