I've been hesitant to do this because I imagine it will sink, but: a thread for noise, power electronics, musique concrete, post-industrial, field recordings, etc. I know there is an experimental/soundscape thread, but it skews heavily towards guitar-based drone music.
I'm sure
@skate_or_dingus will have plenty of great stuff to contribute, but I am curious to see if anyone else is into this sort of thing. So many people I know through noise skate or skated for a long time.
Rather than just give the rundown of 100% classics or new stuff, I'll start off with a general overview of some favorites.
Atrax Morgue - Sickness Report
Perhaps my favorite of all time, right at the nexus of power electronics, death industrial, and pure noise. Sick and textural.
Mordant Karma - Philtre
Not one of the classics of Japanese harsh noise, but a favorite of mine. From the faceless collective known as Lust Vessel, this is some ripping junk metal noise.
Kakerlak - Resembling Actuality
Tape-saturated harsh noise from a contemporary American master (even though he lives in Sweden now)
Anenzephalia - Sleepers Society
Live version of this PE/heavy electronics masterpiece. Dense, miserable, suffocating atmosphere.
Arv & MiljAntropocen
An all time favorite. The dread of the modern era conveyed via cassette loops and minimal synth noise. This project has a few chapters, going from a harsh sound to almost pure field recording to a kind of kosmicheinfluenced synth sound. All great though.
