Allen v. Phillips
Another version of East v. West?

Ive always skated Phillips head hardware. The set of Lucky hardware Im rocking right now is probably almost 2 years old, and still good to go.

I dont think it honestly matters. I know growing up kids would say phillips strip too easy, but thats mainly because most 12 year olds dont know how to properly use a screwdriver.

It's insane that phillips is a standard.  It strips so easily compared to an allen or a robertson.

The only time I stripped bolts was before indys (when I had ventures) and was more preoccupied with getting a unit tool to actually work on them, rather than pay attention to what was going on the other side.

Seriously this, just in general. There is nothing wrong with flat head bolts or square. And I'll take allen over philips any day. On a skateboard, I just use allen because i think it looks more appealing and it may strip a little less.

Misread the title of this thread as, "Phelps head or Alien." Kinda bummed. Phillips though.

allen because they're lighter and that little difference is just what i need to land double kickflips. maybe if i sk8ed a skinnier board i would just use either though

I've always liked allen over phillips. Phillips always strips. Allen never does.

Anyone remember Project Hardware?? It was an awesome idea. Sucks they didn't last long.....

id say allen, but every pair I've had have been to thin at the head and sink to far into my board (i like my bolts to be flush with the deck) or they loosen up when they are flush and become a bitch to constantly tighten. so far the indy 1inch phillips are the best bolts I've come by

Am I seriously the only one that skates Project Hardware?
I still have had the same set since they were called "Industrial" or something.

Allen.  It's funny that I always thought Phillips was for little kids, but I must be the "little kid" to care.   Stuff like this is what makes skating so great.

Allen strips too quickly.

I was forced to transition back to phillips after a brief stint with the allen joints.

Just can't fuck with that shit anymore.

Bending and breaking bolts to free trucks is never fun.

Phillips. I like the look of the little crooshairs. It would be weird for me to look down and see anything else. I've had the same hardware for countless setups and the bolts are nowhere near getting stripped. All it takes is a little muscle and you're good.

as much as i dont like diamond, i must say there bolts are very good. when you put them in a fresh board they sit flush perfectly and your grip doesnt get all fucked up around them and they are nice and small
