The Berrics in Barcelona
« on: January 11, 2011, 03:10:41 AM »
Just heard from a reliable source that Berra wants to open a new Berrics park in Barcelona. Always good weather, 1000000 spots and a Berrics skatepark, makes sense.
Look, I'm an individual within us, partaking in this business

sometimes  i sort of hope stuff like this is true because it makes half of Slap think skateboarding will stop being fun all of a sudden.   quite amusing for rational people who enjoy riding their skateboards.
where is home?

If its a euro berrics with only euro skaters it wouldnt be such a bad idea

Showcase all the good euro companies and super good euro dudes who dont normaly show up on the radar .

would help the euro companies and riders make some money

So the berrics would have locations in the two places which, arguably, have the most REAL spots? Seems like he should be building a berrics in north dakota or somewhere that could actually use it.

Not much of a surprise though, Steve Berra is a fucking kook.

yeah no weed in the berrics.
There has been talk about opening a Berrics branch in Berlin as well.
It makes sense to keep it in a city that is full of skaters since the generated webcontent is what Berra makes his money with.
So I guess North Dakota is out of the question.

I am not a fan of the berrics either, but I have to agree. This could be a nice opportuinity for european skaters, so I am all for it. There are too many really good and unknown skaters here.

Always good weather
You haven't been to Barcelona have you? Both of my trips to BCN have had rain. But there is no shortage of drugs or beer.

most skaters in BCN dont know what the berrics is. they are too busy smoking weed, drinking 40's and being better than berra at skateboarding.

Why would anyone want to skate in a warehouse in BCN when they have some of the best street spots in the world with minimal cops?

yep, i also rumors were that Da Playground was going to be a Berra collab. Rumor he was looking for a spot in NYC and Portland last year too. blah blah blah. it's just an exclusive indoor skatepark that has high running cost and doesn't make much money.

the only money they are making is advertisement money on their website, unless they charge pro's a membership fee or something but I doubt that. They probabluy just make enough to keep it running and keep Berra and Koston with a bit of extra $.

good to see berra do all the "work" though, i like the idea of koston making bank by letting berra take all the heat.

If it was only Berra's gig nobody would have come when it started.

I wouldn't want to see a euro Berrics because it sucks enough that American pros and ams would rather release skatepark parts than street footage...
