pretty much any harley out of a showroom from the past 30 years i think is a complete waste of money. huge displacement engine with little torque and even less horsepower. i saw a sportster from the first year they ran the sportster at a vintage plane/bike/car show this past weekend and that one actually looked pretty rad. harley culture also just sucks, nothing like shelling out 10 grand for a bike and then another grand on your leather jacket with HARLEY DAVIDSON embossed on it, your HARLEY DAVIDSON hat, and your vintage bike week shirts that have HARLEY DAVIDSON printed across it. plus, half the dudes who ride them won't take the time to learn how to work on them, they just send it "out for service" over the winter and drop another couple thousand on stuff that could take them an afternoon. legitimately though, the only harley i've ever been excited about, XR750's smoked everyone on the flat track for years:

as for me i ride and wrench old jap bikes, i'm currently running a 75 honda cb360t as my daily and building a 75 yamaha rd350 in my basement. if you know anything about old two stroke bikes, you know that the rd was infamous for pummeling four stroke bikes with displacements over twice it's engine size. i'm looking into getting an old brit bike now, either a triumph trophy or a BSA A65.
no matter what bike it is, it will put a huge fucking grin on your face. i just hate harley culture.

Most models are tall and much better looking, again Bufoni's agent is talented. Skateboarding is Leticias only avenue to modeling it's goddamn impossible to look sexy on a skateboard. well I'm going to bump this because no one is talking about Leticia anymore and I defs think there is some debatable points in your argument

Well you have to take into account the emissions restrictions when you are making this statement. Sure, a fresh off the floor sporty doesn't have that much kick these days but if you tune them properly (and thus make your bike not street legal) you can definitely get a lot more bang for your buck. At the end of the day though how fast do your want your harley to go? Their modern day cruisers are just that - built for cruising. If you want speed, you'll be buying a Japanese bike.
The other thing that critics seem to forget is that harley as company had to evolve and still make money. Yes, you can circle jerk pan heads till the cows come home but most dudes who ride a pan aren't exactly in the market for a new bike are they? Harley made a smart business move with the whole dark custom thing (as cringe-worthy as that name is) - they marketed their bikes to new/ young riders as opposed to oil leaking/ bad breaking aficionados who would never purchase their product anyway.

Yes, and this happens the same in EVERY single sub-culture there is, it is not limited to harley riders. Take a look at skateboarding ffs!
What I do take offense to though is that you seem to think all harley riders are the same. Sure, there are dudes like you mentioned but there are also Supreme/ FA/ fuccbois in our sub-culture too, are you a supreme fuccboi? I doubt it
I know tonnes of dudes who wrench their own pan/ knuckle heads and take pride in doing so but you can't expect everyone to do so and/ or fit into your ideal of what a rider should be. I live o/s at the moment and don't have my tools with me so I wanted a fuss-free bike that looked classic an was fun to ride. Nice! At the end of the day a bike is a bike; sure we all have our preferences and that's fine. I've seen some crazy things done to those BSA A65s. I recently went to this bike cafe in Sydney (http://www.surfside.net.au/ (http://www.surfside.net.au/)) and it was cool to see some of the bike my dad rode back in the day. He's currently looking to buy another bonneville while I'll be off the saddle for a minute while my kid grows up. Doesn't mean I still don't think about bikes all day though ;) I'm actually really liking the w650/ w800s at the moment which is kind of trendy I guess but kawasaki's attention to detail is insane!

I think her manager got her into all the model stuff she does and probably has an influence on her posts,but she is skater...even if its just the berrics or her backyard. I always figured her as a typical brazilian with the bikini and model shots too.

Majority of the girls scene all know each other or are friends,Nora replied to a comment that it was all in good fun, and she killed it costume wise. Not much else to look into,there are probably girl skater beefs but thats their shit. There are a slew of "chicks that skate" on instagram wearing fucked up outfits and no bra trying no complies on the flat of a skate park with 1000s of followers

There has to be more specifc commentary behind it, though. I'm not saying she's trying to be malicious, but if it were in the vain of good fun, then why not shave her head, not shave her pits, and dress like dylan reider (ala lacey baker)? Leticia as a figure might present herself more in the mainstream sense as an "athlete", but so what?

I think Leticia has been a point of contention for lacey baker. Who's right about how to be a female pro is one thing but for me Letica is a better skater. Goes faster more solid but don't make assumptions about who's hotter. I think lacey sans clothes might surprise some people. I met Ellisa when she was on toy and she was prolly hotter imo than any of these girls. My type anyway she had olive skin, waif-y with boobs tho. Her eyes were really somthing . Malando was was captain cock block tho -totally grimacing at me talking to her and hovering.

No one's really posed the question, "why: why did she choose to parody her?" I'm not implying that there is some potential feud simmering beneath the surface or anything like that. I'm sure they're friends. But the fact is, it is a moment to observe that Leticia is uniquely different from the rest of the female talent pool. Nora isn't totally positioned on the same end as the spectrum as she, and there's a lot of contrast about what that means when it comes to having influence on girl skaters. Vanessa Torres (in her Jenkem interview) addresses this, and even goes as far as expressing deep disapproval about the type of "image" Leticia brings to female skating.
Nora's intent obviously was just to bring some laughs, however, you can't deny that there is some legitimate symbolism here: partly that most skater's still hold the ethos that certain brands (corporate/simply uncool) or image choice can make you or skating ingeneral uncool -- hurting the spirit of the sport, & that Leticia is the butt of the joke with some girls. Reminds me Ryan Sheckler's peak of hate. Most skater's respected him on a talent level, but as a "brand" or "figure", no so much.

i watched it a little bit. I think the level has really improved in women's contests, but it is only about 4 or 5 women who rip like that. The others are really amateurish in comparison. They go really slow and do mainly basic tricks like 50-50 and boardslides. Who do you mean who has thrown down in the streets? Alex Sablone was in the contest. She tried some of the most difficult tricks, but kept bailing them. Has Laticia ever had a good street part?

Nora is barely in the streets which is kinda a bummer. But when you look at how much she progresses regularly its pretty sick. Maybe its due to injury but I feel like Leticia has been doing the same tricks on the same obstacles for about 2 years now without really bringing anything new to the table.

Though, I think it's weird that other girl skaters feel the need to tease or parody Leticia when there's such a small pool of ladies to begin with (you would think that they all need eachother). There has to be more specifc commentary behind it, though. I'm not saying she's trying to be malicious, but if it were in the vain of good fun, then why not shave her head, not shave her pits, and dress like dylan reider (ala lacey baker)? Leticia as a figure might present herself more in the mainstream sense as an "athlete", but so what?
