I meant to just play it for an hour last night, but found myself awake at 2am trying to kill a gryphon. It's so good. Makes me want to check out the novels it's based on.
-
^ I considered buying a PS4 purely for that game, it looks so good and endlessly playable
-
the last of us is amazing.
-
firewatch is here and i have to admit i like it so far.
-
Witcher 3 is insane. So much shit to do, and nothing is repetetive. I just got to Skellige islands after probably 15 hours, and can see myself easily dump another 150 hours in it and still not get everything.

Earthbound
Just got a new computer, so I've been using emulators a lot.
-
i can recommend stardew valley to anyone who's looking for a relaxing game to play at work or at home when you're too stoned for a twitchy action game.
everyone should play rocket league of course for obvious reasons.
i also got the metro (redux)games, so far started the first one and it's crazy good.
-
Fightcade is a tight program i've been using. it allows you to play a lot of older games against people online like street fighter and metal slug.
-
Been playing Watch Dogs 2. It's pretty corny but it's still fun.
-
horizon zero dawn !!! yall !
-
horizon zero dawn !!! yall !
Right on. It always shows up as a recommendation for me.
The Uncharted series is phenomenal. I would want to play for an hour or two, but would just end up beating each game within a day (whenever the weather was shitty).
-
Just beat Zelda Breath of the Wild. Super fun, so much to do. Not that tough overall, but some groups of enemies can be pretty difficult.
-
zelda breath of the wild is messing up my life schedule
-
zelda breath of the wild is messing up my life schedule
as someone who found themselves constantly annoyed by other zelda games.
BOTW is the shit!
-
Been playing horizon for a few days now, it's pretty good
-
Due to music licensing issues, they're pretty much giving away Alan Wake at Steam. Then it's gone from the store forever. Is the game worth it? It costs less than a burger right now.
-
Ninja Gaiden Black. Like Dark Souls, except it is fun.
-
Warframe. Probably the best game I have ever played. Its a free to play game with in-game purchases available that has been out for about 5 years now. Started playing it after I finished the Trials of Osiris DLC, which to me was quite the disappointment in my opinion. I loved Destiny 1 and had high hopes for Destiny 2, but was not impressed. Then I found Warframe. I started playing the game late December 2017 and since then to now have logged about 16+ days into the game. They are very good to their community of players and are always looking to improve the game. Even though you can buy a lot of things that help you get through the game they have made it impossible for anyone to completely buy their way through the game (unless you purchase someone's account). When i started playing it and was working my way through the star-chart you get a vibe that this game is what Destiny was supposed to be. Check it out, its free to play so even if you don't like it you won't lose any money on it.

That fucking horseman samuri boss was the hardest mofo back in the day spent to many hours on that shit before my OG Xbox crapped out
-
Fallout 1 and 2
-
Lumines remastered!
-
If you never played Silent Hill 1-3 (maybe 4) I both pity and envy you.
-
Nier Automata is my favourite game I played last year.
If you're a JRPG fan, check it out. Not too long of play through and some seriously great story telling.

this looks like a shittier version of counter-strike 1.6. if you have a decent PC just play CS:GO my dude, it even runs on most low-end PC's if you reduce graphic settings and resolution.

Only played the demo and the constant camera switch made me kind of sick. Will try again, though.

Preach it man. Silent Hill 2 one of my favorite games of all time.
-
risk of rain 2 is excellent and well worth the early access purchase.

Quake 3 with CPMA mod. It's super fast, highly skilled, and ridiculously fun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2WYX7wN3MU
If you join the discord from here: https://playmorepromode.com/ there's a link to the "DEZ installer" that has all the files you need to play. All the matches are organized through discord. It's a pretty small community so a lot of modes don't happen too frequently, but you shouldn't have any issues getting duels.
-
Hollow Knight. It's an incredible Metroidvania. I sunk like 60+ hours into the Switch version. And at $15 it's probably the most Vidya bang for my buck I've ever gotten.
-
I would recommend playing mother 3/earthbound 2. Although the only way to play in English is through an emulator, its a really enjoyable RPG with a great soundtrack.

earthbound is probably my favorite rpg. i never finished playing mother 3 cause the battery on my cart died but that game was sweet, the battle system is pretty cool with having to hit a on the beat/music notes.

Thats sick, eathbound is the best. It would be nice if nintendo gave the switch SNES games as a part of the online memebership or something.

NOW THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! such a shame that Reflex arena did not take off..
Oh and if anyone is into really hard RPG games you should check out Rage of Mages 2(Allods 2). The movement is pretty clunky but damn that game is fun.
-
ps1 classic is 20 bucks at target. shitty system but if you mod it, and put on a better emulator, also you can get an adapter so you can use ps3/ps4 controllers {dual shock} for 20 bucks. really tempting.
-
Persona 5 was a ride, the new fire emblem is fun a LARGE game as well you can get into if you like TRPGs ot JRPGS.
-

Just finished the 2B story. Playing through as 9S now. Crazy playing as him now after the initial run.

Have to second this one. I can't wait for Silksong to come out. I think that's what they're calling it. Hollow Knight was incredible.

Been switching back and forth between RE2 HD remake and Prey for PS4. Highly recommend Prey. Developed by Bethesda with almost no bugs AND it overshadows the shitshow that is Fallout 76.

Got a link for me, pal?
Also, really can't express how excited I am to play the new DOOM. Played through DOOM 2016 multiple times and have yet to get tired of it. Interested to see just how much they can ramp up the carnage and mayhem.

is session better than skater XL do any of them control/play like skate 3
funny you should mention..
looks like they'll have the same EA skate 3 controller config option in the game as of this last update a few days ago i guess
Also, it comes to Xbox1 in the spring
https://www.vg247.com/2020/02/19/session-skate-change-controls/
i actually like they way Session has its controls set though, its not to difficult to get used to.
still, its sick they'll give you the option. I guess they realized all the skeptics just want the skate 3 controls

My girlfriend has been playing the long dark. I bought it on steam early access but haven’t played it in years. Wondering if I should jump back in.
Didn’t pay attention to games much last year but I will be jumping into Outer Wilds. Just heard about it lol. I skipped the podcast I got all my game info from for a year because I didn’t want to see ANYTHING about Red Dead until it came to PC.
-
Much thanks to you for this extraordinary data. I will take of note of the Pixel Gun 3D (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pixel-gun-3d/ijakhnejbdgimahpehnkoigimbgamfbf) and offer it to my companions.

Check out The Long Dark again for sure. They really improved a lot of the mechanics and have added to the maps. Especially if you haven’t played it since early access. How’s red dead looking on PC?

That's what I was hoping for. The game was hard back then, but if my girlfriend said she really liked it then it probably is much better, she doesn't have as much patience for learning more technical games. I'm gonna re-install on steam right now.
Well I beat it a couple months back. I was actually waking up like an hour and a half before work, so like 5am and playing it to start the day. I lived in the hood and it was a relaxing way to wake up with the lights turned down low in my place before I headed into work. I really liked it but the first half got really repetitive the second half was more compelling. It sucked because at launch there were a lot of bugs and it was so demanding I finally was realizing it was time for an upgrade. It still looks amazing but I uninstalled after I beat it. I now have a graphics card that is twice as powerful so I was just telling my girlfriend I'm gonna reinstall it and check it out and do some of the side stuff I didn't do.
The one thing I'm really bumming on though is Last of Us 2 being a console exclusive. I don't want to buy a PS4/5 again. I sold mine when I got into PC but Last Of Us instantly became my favorite game probably of all time, and I loved the multiplayer. I don't really have any good reasons to buy a PS4 besides that game so it sucks. I hate exclusivity stuff. When I got my new graphics card it came with 3 months of XBOX games pass and it's pretty awesome to be able to play a bunch of xbox games on my PC. Sony is dumb as fuck for not at least putting their shit on PC.
If I got any console it would probably be a switch because I play a lot of games with my girlfriend, but I've never been Nintendo's stuff. I can't really think of what I would want to play. I like animal crossing, but I read about that bullshit where only the main person get's to do all the major stuff on there and that is so fucking dumb. That exercise game actually looks pretty sick lol.
My graphics card also came with Final Fantasy 7 and the new Resident Evil. I don't like Final Fantasy so its like ehhh, but I keep forgetting I have resident evil now also, I'm scared to play it lol. I would have given away the final fantasy code but how it's redeemed you didn't get a key, it like sycn'd up with steam and auto-redeemed it. I just got the card about a month ago, and since I can't find a fucking mountain bike anywhere right now, I think tomorrow I will get a new CPU and MOBO +ram because my card is being bottle necked by the CPU and it's already amazing.

Damn, that’s a bummer to hear about Last of Us being console only, I didn’t realize that. Hell, I have a ps4 and I wish we could work out some sort of part time trade because I have been saying that whenever the next gen PS comes out I’m going to get a PC setup haha.
I would like to hope RDR2 has gotten the kinks worked out of the PC game by now. I put a ton of hours into all the side quests in Red Dead so hopefully you’ll enjoy them too. The legendary animals (particularly the legendary fish) were super fun to me. I hope you have better luck with it this time dude.

If you build a cheap one hollar and I'll sell you my GTX 970 graphics card for bread crumbs if I still got it. Build too btw, its fun, its cheaper a lot of times, and it takes no time at all. It's like only 5 parts that you could practically do without instructions. I'm glad I built mine because it made me comfortable to open it up and swap parts or clean it out. Just use PC part picker and it walks you through the steps, tells you what parts are compatible and what you need. It was super simple and it's really fun. A lot of people call it legos for adults and it's true. Just like with some lego sets that build off a green board that is supposed to be grass, you do the same shit on PC. The green grass lego board is the mother board, and 5 parts plug into it. The most time consuming part is installing windows lol.

Been into stranded deep since it launched on console.
Such a good game! If you enjoyed that you might like The Long Dark too.

Hey, I appreciate that dude! I do plan on building it myself. I have some friends that can help me when I get terribly confused, I’m very mechanical, I can fix cars but technology and I don’t seem to mesh. Surely with a little help it can be done though. Thanks for the tips though dude.

Anyone have any survival-horror recommendations? Or an open world style game similar to Fallout?

Hey man, I'm not sure how great it is yet, but I downloaded "Stranded Deep" from the PS Store. It is survivial-based. If you have the PS plus it is free. Might be worth checking out! I am going to play a bit right now, I'll let you know what I think of it.

Yo! Thanks for the recommendation. I think I saw it on PSNow the other day. I might give it a go tonight. Keep me posted!

I spent about 30 minutes to an hour on the tutorial, but I didn't really follow it to a T, so it was more frustrating than it should have been due to my error. I basically explored for 2 days worth in game and was dying of thirst. When I followed the tutorial, I was able to have a simple camp before sundown on the first day.
These are some tips that I wish I would have paid attention to.
https://www.gamesradar.com/stranded-deep-tips/ (https://www.gamesradar.com/stranded-deep-tips/)
It is a little weird getting used to the navigating the crafting menu and the inventory, but it is not wildly different than say Skyrim in that regard. Know that you need to use R2 when holding coconuts to drink or eat them (after processing them of course). I appreciate that you CAN shit your pants.
It supposedly is about 33 hours of game play. So far I like it quite a bit and definitely plan on beating it. I'm going full Tom Hanks.
EDIT: Also, make sure to pull your raft out of the water onto the beach otherwise it drifts off to sea.
EDIT 2: You need to place plant fiber into the water still for it to work.

just finished nightmare reaper, or what is already there since it's still in e.a..
i highly recommend this game if you like retro build engine style fps games. it's super good. would have been cool if they made it so you can replay the old levels like a new game plus as long as it's not finished yet. took me a solid 16 hours to get through all the levels. i think it was about 55 lvls total. they are processed from premade rooms that get remixed and it has a progression system where you can unlock upgrades and moves for money via an integrated jump and run mini game. parts of the ("non intrusive"-the devs) story can be experienced between the levels as you roam the halls of the insane asylum your player character is kept in in a horror fps adventure style.
the amount of weapons is insane, they come with random perks and rarity tiers to mix things up.
i'm hoping they will drop another update or finish the game in the next half year, but i might just replay it regardless.

Downloaded Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on game pass. Playing it with headphones, before bed, is crazy. Combat isn’t super hard but the game is good and the perma-death hanging over your head makes it skressful.

I’ve just started playing Earthbound Beginnings(Mother) on the Switch and I really like it so far. It’s the first time that the game has been officially translated into English. They recently added it to the NES games you get when you pay for the Switch online service. I loved Earthbound(Mother 2) when I played it years ago and if you are a fan of that game then you’ll like this one. There’s something special to me about good games from the 80s. Now we just need Mother 3.

It's also heavily biassed toward games released in the last 5-10 years. You don't see that with movies or books; people will recommend Citizen Kane or Gone With The Wind, but no one will recommend Manic Miner as a "must-play" gaming experience. People in this section are simply listing the gaming cards here (https://howyoumatter.com/) they have recently enjoyed playing rather than the best examples of the medium throughout its history. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that; as you said, it's essentially a subjective question of "what are your favourite games," but it doesn't really answer the question.
-
From 2002 through 2006, Counter-Strike 1.6. I used to play on a server with custom maps made by a man by the name of "Nippers custom maps" when the player count for the game was at its highest. On a snowy Saturday morning during the school break, I was playing the game "de nipperhouse xmas." Previously, more than 50 000 community servers were active at once. I genuinely miss such moments, and I sincerely doubt that anything similar will ever occur once more. At least I still remember things.
-
I totally agree with you about the bias towards more recent games. It's always great to see people recommend their favorite games, but it would be even better to see more classic games getting the recognition they deserve. Speaking of classic games, have you ever tried playing at Fair Go Casino https://fairgocasino-au.com/? It's definitely one of my go-to sites for some good old fashioned gambling fun. The emotions during the game can be quite intense, whether you're on a winning streak or not, it's the thrill of the unknown that keeps me coming back.

This one is on Steam, its a looter/extractor where you have to look around for items while repelling other players and enemies in the game. You have 12 minutes to find the shit you need and get out. It requires internet connection but its a great time passer and if you enjoy hurting yourself because you failed, this one is great for the self mutilators. My thigh is numb from all the angry self-slapping i've been doing.

look nothing means more to a team manager than to hear someone loves skateboarding
if your under 18 and skateboard for good
write a letter to a shop
it doesnt have to be your local
send letters to the pros
go to events
hold your own events
dont be jealoous forever
like i said you probably live somewhere near the beach if your not a pro
if everyone around you surfs then skateboarding is probably not that accesible
check out some of the better places
a long time a go i found out that i had a monthly vacation because my dad worked for the government so i got to go to a bunch of different cities so thats how my career started
you probably have to think outside the box
if your over 30 and your not sure where to start
buy a board
buy shoes
maybe get a camera and try filming one day
dont wimp out
if your not gonna break bones
fight
get knocked out
fight for your spot
then its not happening
yeah your gonna have to fight a lot of skateboarders to go big
99% of the time a skateboarders problem is another skater
its either about money, a girl, drugs, or skating

I'm straight up TRIPPING on this Psn+ free monthly game called Sifu.
If you like old Kung Fu movies this is for you.
Take it as a prescription if you got psn+ download that shit rn.
If I was rich I'd pay for a more realistic version. Put lil balls on all my favorite screen artist. I bet you didn't know that Kung Fu double feature is my shit.
Even above scifi fancy which is my close number two. Followed by moving maps war docs. My dad turned me on to tactics when I was a little kid.
I didn't enjoy reenacting tho. It was always on a fake battle field. Or the wrong one. They wanted me to dress up and stop bringing my board.
Nope. I only went to Gettysburg remembrance day cuz no one had to watch me. I could street skate. Go to devil's den. Up big round top. Skate out to the angle which was boring but significant. Do bugger bonk on the statues and flee angry cry babies.
The zooav's attacked me and my brother one time. They was out at the angle. They talked shit on me and my brothers look. We said look who's talking. Y'all look like the first year the navy went full queer. Where's your boat?
They flipped out. Fuckin demented elves was in too much wool and fully decked in parade shit. They wasn't catching shit. Then we accidentally walked up on a moose and called it a day.
Training is not that helpful. As enemies attack from all directions.
