I wish they would have dug deeper into the history about the plaza but anyways it's always been a place I want to skate/visit.
-
no versace plug :(
-
Hopefully I'll get to check going there off my bucket list one day; even if it isn't for skateboarding.
-
no versace plug :(
You mean :) surely

He is not into filming - at least not with Bowman.
Its a trasher Video -so they promote skateboarders with sponsors who pay
for advertisment. No Flytec.
But most important - they put Sami Harithi in the mix The OG Berlin Legend.
First guy jumping the double set at the Kulturform with a kickflip around 1994

lmfao what a joke how the fuck thrasher gonna put D list "pro" kevin white in this video and not Hyun who basically owns that spot, actually disrespectful.

Giorgi Armani was in the video with Flytecc gear tho.
-
Happy to see Patrick "Rogge" Rogalski get some shine, he's a true local ripper you'd actually see around skating the streets. The Nosegrind Kickflip into the bank is insane. Anything at that spot is, it's steep and scary.
-
Has anyone ever gone up that double bank thing over the block like a euro gap type thing?

I wanna say yes, but I am not sure who did what. At first, people would stall on it coming up from the doule bank

I've seen it but can't remember who. vague memory it being Dylan.??I think they wheelie-bonked the block on top. you'll need a bike or sth for the uphill run up though.

It was Dylan, btw this video and the skaters in it (except Sami Harithi he is a certified legend) skated the spot in a very one-sided way, if you see the way people like Hyun (versace_plug) skate this spot you see that there are so many ways to skate this place. Also, the edit and the music truly did not bring the stoke, do appreciate Foley doing a voice-over.
-
All the locals have killed that spot so hard for decades, especially the double set, so it's a bit disappointing to not see that referenced throughout the piece. But it's not a documentary, I get it. Still, at least a nod to the anzeigeberlin videos would have been nice.
-
nah they need the plug in this
he destroyed that spot

6:01 (it's good they featured the run up cos that's completely fucked, uphill and with the rough tiles mixed in)

well, so did willow way before hyun...
agree with the sentiment that they showed the spot in limited ways, tho. my favourite lines include going all the way to the other stairs at the end of the plaza
-
Was really hoping for some Versace footage. Crazy how much he’s actually grown on me. Instead they get random Americans who have nothing to do with the spot ???

1. Giorgi is on skatemental - paying monthly for advertisement.
2. i was joking around.
It was always like that - any Europe contest/ session
documented through the thrasher goggles was focusing mainly on the US located boys not on the most impressing of the session / day.
I think it becomes little better the last years, but it’s not like Rhino is coming to berlin to hellride 3 weeks
with the locals to document the real szene. It’s just Spot tourism - and Mixing some locals in between to fill up the content.
-
Always good to see how good some people back in Germany have become. Hell yeah, when I left 15 years ago or so it wasn't like that at all.
The Americans did seem a bit random though
-
God Bowman makes the worst edits ever, all of these have been hideous. Some awful beat and no feeling whatsoever.

The whole scene in Berlin has really popped off in that time frame, I would like to see more coverage of it from a local perspective. I want to see a feature on that Soviet veterans memorial (sorry if I am mischaracterizing it: the place with the statue of an allied soldier holding a baby and stomping on a broken swastika), the DIYs that sprung up in recent years, tempelhof, people ripping those fucked up old crappy parks strewn about the city, etc etc
Is there gonna be a Supreme edit like there have been when they launch other locations in Milan Paris SF etc? Didn’t they just open a Berlin shop? As little as I care for that company they do have a way of turning up the spotlight on Euro scenes.

yes there is, but they didnt include the locals at all (video is called mind goblin). actually, it seems they dont even have a shop team?
-
Everytime I see this spot or go there I keep thinking of the opening line of this video. So good.

Fuck, the filming (and color correction) in Mind Goblin was so nauseating I watched like 30sec, turned it off, and didn’t even notice the spots were in Berlin ... maybe I’ll take some Dramamine and give it another shot.

Agree - had the pleasure to watch Willow to jump
stairs- it was superior. 40min one Trick after the other - like playing game of skate against him self. Even the bails where great.

I really enjoy the Plazacation series, but wasn't that into this one. The spot is amazing and footage there looks great, but there were way too many clips on just the big 3 and main low ledge (and lots of the clips on the ledge were just different slide flip out variations). There is so much to skate at this spot and get creative with, but it seemed like these guys took the most boring approach possible and mainly stuck to the obstacles you see all the time. Anyway, still looking forward to the next one!
