ok guys. pretty new to slap here. and risking getting kooked into oblivion. but having seen the investigative prowess of the pals really shine in the jason jessee thread, i'd like to harness those skills for something a bit more...light-hearted? it's something i've wanted to know ever since my pre-pubescent ass discovered mtv in july 1999. who are the skaters in mandy moore's "candy" music video?
in light of actual answers, i'd also like to hear which skaters you think would actually agree to be in such a hot mess. and how much do you think they got paid. and were they actually ams/pros. or just some hollywood extras that knew a trick or two.

I'm going to take a complete guess and say that the guy who did the tre flip was Caswell Berry. Cardiel is definitely the first dude who did the front side air in the pool.

Made about $200 bucks that day. Got so rich."
would love to read an oral history on how this all went down. jenkem, make it happen! still need to know who the third guy in the pool was, and who did the tre flip.

One guy keeps doing the backside pivot (thought it was Ryan Johnson but this guy's too aryan looking), the other bails the frontside air (Tim Upson?), and one bald guy with a wife beater just comes up to carve but has no other tricks. Jason Carney looking guy without the tattoos. Also, holy shit are those (barely) teenage girls provocative.

You are referring to Street dreams right? Yeah I seen it and it was Ok at best the premise was unique and the acting was terrible lets not go over the dialouge it is as corny and as cheesy as both Thrashin' and Search for Animal Chin. The movie really wants you to hate Dyrdek as well. I am a skater 1st and for-most, when I am hurt or laid up for winter where applicible I review every movie I can see and some are just godawful. SD is going to be a classic of made for T.V. much like Lifetime is television for abused women and Syfi is for cheese dick hyper nerds SD is a blend of both corniness and bad writing. If SD was film it was the Walmart of skateboarding.

Bumping this. Kiddo is away at grandma’s and the wife and I got real tunes up with some friends last night and ended up plowing through a bunch of 90’s pop videos on their big TV. This came on and I saw the skating, which reminded me of this thread.
We never came to a consensus on that well-executed 360 flip, so the investigation is not over. Let’s get to the bottom of this.

I've never seen this mentioned anywhere but back in 2001 Jeremy Klein is in the Blink-182 video for "The Rock Show". Along with some dude in a green shirt. I have no idea who the guy is and can't get a good look at him. All green shirt does is a kick flip and bails over the van, no idea why there isn't a landing ramp. This was like right after Destroying America and I never saw them jump the van without the landing ramp. I remember being so hyped that Klein was in it lol. Also he is wearing Nikes. Before the skating part the blink 182 guys give out some Bucky Lasek completes.

That scene was filmed in Healdsburg which is north of SF. It's Northern California so it could be somebody but it's possible it's just some guy.
