Video was good, but some thoughts:
Franky V could not be a more awkward fit on Primitive.
Way too much drone footage and city scape b-roll; let’s just see the fucking skating please.
Trent McClung is really good and had the most “wow” tricks for me.
Paul is still on top of his game.
There’s no way Diego is anyone’s favorite skater.
These guys are all exceptionally good at skateboarding, but this company and video have no real appeal aesthetically; they’re like the Golden State Warriors of skateboarding.

Yes, I’m sure this footage of young people traveling, sometimes even to sunny locales, to get footage flipping their boards and doing actual tricks would be a very traumatic watch for Mr. Puleo.

Few thoughts:
- P.Rod and Robert had the best full parts (wade had a good shared part)
- Franky Vil is really pushing the envelope for fat lesbian skateboarders, but her style is still gross
- Nick Tucker's song was oddly fitting as the chorus said "I dont care what you think of me" considering we don't care about his skating
- For a team that's supposed to be elite they certainly have quite a few fartknockers.

that prod part really shows how much more exciting street footage is. Couldn't have cared less about his skating for the last couple years when all he did was streetleague and this just made me a fan again. That shuvit nose grind back heel was just amazing

that was really, really good. i skipped around at first and went back and watched it later. some really sick shit.
Maybe i'm a cornball but i like the B-roll clips of the cities. I'm an avid traveler and i actually enjoy it when the editor quickly references the city via a skyline or landmark for the footage that was filmed there. Meza used to that in the classic crail tours, i'm a fan.
Wades switch Fs Biggie on flat is probably my favorite trick in there haha.

I'm not all that into the "fresh" thing, but there's something about Primitive that's refreshing to me. I guess I just appreciate that they're all about the skating without the need for a gimmick.
Also, P-ROD THE GOD. I feel like any footage from him nowadays is a blessing, and I'm just thankful he's still out there absolutely crushing it even though he doesn't really need to anymore.

I loved Trent's stuff. 270 noseblunt back to switch stance was nice, fakie fs shov nosegrind biggie out, a lot of cool looking tricks that I haven't seen before. Also Wade 8) ;D
But why is Bastien on this team, for his name? He released one short intro part and nothing after that, footage in this wasn't that good either. P-rod footage was golden

Always blows my mind how many Slap heads seem to love Franky Vilani. Can't stand his style and most of his trick selection.
Devine looks like a weird alien but his skating was surprisingly decent.
Bastian was underwhelming. Has he put out a proper part since that Flip footage got released 10 years late.
P Rod killed it. Love the switch fs blunt flip out. So fast and landed so far past the end of the ledge.
All in all, the skating all felt a bit similar. Lots of goofy footed skaters doing bs 180 nosegrind variations. Too many 5cm long tech grind/slide combos.
Not sure why I watched this as I knew it wasn't my thing even before hand.

This is really stupid, but I never gave a shit about Paul Rodriguez Jr. until this part. I've always respected his skill, but I've never been excited by his skating at all. This part was fucking crazy, especially since I didn't expect him to keep up progression-wise with the kids today.
Fuck yes to Devine Calloway, Frankie Villani, and Trent McClung.

It was cool to see P-Rod skating the back of those bleachers like back in the Forecast days. Trent McClung is amazing. His style is unique (in a good way, imo) and he does his tricks perfectly. I don’t get the Diego hate, that motherfucker is next level.

The video has an extremely clean feel to it. I usually like the dirtier more random aesthetic of anti-hero, gx videos or the old stereo videos, but this somehow felt cool. Even the way they used the drone shots seemed right.

i think hes like a boss at the end of a video game, maybe like mega man. has all of the weapons, does lots of damage, and a lots of hp. it'd feel weird if he didnt have the last part, but then again, andrew reynolds in baker 3 was somewhere in the middle.

They went in on this shit. Trent McClung suprisingly had my favorite part outside of P.Rod. They might’ve cracked the code with the 90 day/30min video format. Fans still get a “full length” vid while the pros don’t have to bust their ass for a year or more just for a few weeks of hype. Their riders are prolific enough to do these kinds of vids every few months or so it’ll be interesting to see if they do more vids like this in the future

Yeah i always think todays pro's could put out a lot more fun interesting footage than before, we don't need everything to be groundbreaking progression, just well thought out and produced videos showing us what they've been doing. it seems like so many dudes are focused on this epic part that people will speak about for years to come formula that sometimes dudes are major pros for 10+ years and we really only have 2-3 video parts of that person, and i hate that concept so much.

I can understand exactly how they fit into the timeline of skate history. Plan B resurges and fails to become the incredible beastly super power it once was, and Paul Rodriguez begins the new Girl.
That said, that McClung kids skating makes my legs hurt and they film him from horrible angles that definitely focus on his knees.
Diego Najera is fucked up good, I don't know how I feel. I wouldn't buy a deck but I get why they sell

It looks like every last movement and gesture that Wade makes on a skateboard is meticulously calculated to come off like he's not trying. It's pretty funny.
Franky Villiani is so bad. Style, kits, trick selection, green wheels and fuckin misfits grip. just awful.
Devine was my favorite and I was feeling McClung too. and prod!
It looks like they filmed this over a very short period of time. Obviously Nick Tucker is super good but it was weird to see a switch heelflip over a 6-7 stair rail in a big company video in 2018
I don't really have an opinion on Big L in skate vids but it always stands out as awkward when white guys skate to tracks with like 5 aggressive N bombs in the chorus

Villani definitely does not fit with the aesthetic of the rest of the team, what with his creativity, Misfits grip, and jeans. However, I think Primitive does well to get a bit more style diversity. When you see all this footage crammed back to back to back... all the swishy pants, dangling hat straps, and end-of-ledge trickery gets a little numbing.
That said, Nick Tucker and Trent stood out from the pack. The Rodriguez closer was pretty classy.

The ams are blowing the pros outta the water SO hard, haha. I guess the same can be said about most modern companies, but it was especially apparent in this video. I was so happy to see over a minute of Devine!
Speaking of pros, it seems like Brian Peacock got really lucky turning pro when he did. If they had found some of these other guys before they turned him pro, he probably woulda been doomed to eternal am status. What does SLAP think of Brian Peacock, anyway? I have a hunch that he is generally more disliked than liked on here. I think he's aight.

This rundown matches my own impressions so well it is almost a little bit weird.
What I love about Ribeiro is that he can Switch Bs Tailslide Kickflip that tall ledge and then do a skewed Fs Lipslide on a long rail and it still makes sense.
I have never been a fan of Paul Rodriguez's skating but this has left a strong impression with me, I much prefer his style now than when he was younger and the trick selection in this part is beautiful.

Seriously I’ve seen him at the vans park and he does the hardest shit just cruising around. It’s rad . I like his weird quick foot dork trick lines a lot too. Also wade is just amazing glad he’s on a company where we get consistent footage now.

This was very good. The skating was serious but the tone of video wasn't. It was Ty Evans-ish but with restraint.

When Brian peacock first came out it was insane, it seemed like he could do anything and was stanceless. After a while though all the spinning on the ground and not really popping his 270's out of stuff (inevitably some sort of switch back tail) along with a really repetitive trick selection has left him meh for the most part in my book. The tailslide to fakie nosemanny 180 drop down to nosemanny was crazy though.
That was definitely my favorite p-rod footage to date. No laser flips or nollie late flips and just really properly executed tricks.

I don’t know. I guess I just like how he does shit in a super different way than most but still makes it look super sick. Like the switch heel down the double set in the intro, the switch varial heel down that three block in China, or the nollie big heel @13:58

Damn that was sick. Primitive more or less coming correct with todays version of a full-length. Franky is a breath of fresh air on this team of nollie inwardheel noseslides, and I hope he bounces to Shanes new thing.
Was bummed to have no Prod footage until the afterblack part. He sure came through and produced a pretty sick street part after saying that he was over it. That was tight.
