-
he is maaloufin good!
such a sick style!
bs fs flip flick in the game
-
i liked this as much as i thought i would.
wknd is doing rad things all around.
-
I wasn’t a fan of wknd at first, but they’ve grown on me in a big way. That was beautiful.
-
After watching Christian Maaloufs part on thrasher I got to thinking about why skaters like Christian who should be making a lot more money off of skating have to work regular jobs. It would be smart for guys like that to do what Instagram models do and charge monthly for private Instagram accounts. If Christian charged like a dollar a month for a private Instagram with tricks like in his part he could make a couple grand a month and supplement his income.
-
Ehm... Looks like he's a bigger fan of Greco than I am. I can live with that.

im all for people making money, but why would anyone pay for skate content when there is already and overwhelming amount of amazing stuff for free? this is great, but so are the thousand other clips that got posted today that i dont have to pay to watch.

Ya I get that but it would mean giving people your video part through Instagram stuff and giving people a more personal relationship with the pro it couldn’t just be hey here’s a kickflip over a bump to bar.
Edit: also you see tits and ass for free on the internet and yet Instagram girls are making a butt ton of money

christian maloof should get some tits then.
in all seriousness, maybe a parteon page could help some dudes out. youtubers seem to do pretty well with that and all of their content is basically free too.

I say keep the rippers poor. The second they get that youtube money they're going to start settling down and having kids/ starting sock and sunglass companies, and the quality of the footy will decline accordingly.
-
thats how ya do it, fellas, jfc

He just started a sock company a month or so back.

wknd is doing everything right. The skating, song and edit was so well put together.
Fully backing it

Seriously best fs flips in the game. Whole part had me wet.
-

I had the same thought, and then I imagined approaching one fakie, at speed, and trying not to die.
He’s fantastic.

Sha boy Carlos Ribeiro did it switch

The top YouTube comment for this video is “It’s like Gilbert Crockett and Lee Yankou had a baby.” That’s extremely spot on.

tiago at some tws agenda contest? too lazy to google it
also that fakie flip was filmed in a way that make the shiftiness of if impossible to judge, so let get some controversy going
his style is so weird, but not too weird, just interesting
-
Are you blind ?
watch it again, hit the pause button
no more than 45 degrees
What's your point ?

He does everything so well and keeps it interesting. The editing makes me wish it never ended, per usual with wknd videos.

This would not surprise me. Tiago is the best ever. Christian is Tiago-lite. Not throwing shade. Just similarities. One has better style tho. ;)
-
I watched it twice for breakfast
-
the first frontside flip on over the gate into... so fucking good
-
that fakie flip over the brick planter got me hot n bothered
Yeah. The trick was fully backwards off the ledge. Daaaamn!
Alexis' animations worked with this part really well. WKND is doing things right and building something great, not easy in this land of a million small companies.
-
this song just ended a lot of relationships
-
This photo is such a cool angle, makes that bank look frightening

HA! For real, though...

why would you give anyone this idea? I'm not paying a la carte to watch each individual skater. No.

christian and his wife (maybe his parents, i don’t know the full detail) own a property in la. he also runs a coffee shop. dudes 30 years old. he won’t be able to fakie flip a table in 10 years. he’s setting himself up for a presperous life without looking like an asshole on instagram, which is good.
-
That blew me away, however I am extremely stoned right now. Is this as good as I think it was?
-
It’s good either way!
-
How many cats does this fakie flipper have?

I don't think I've seen a photo or clip of this spot from this angle in the 20 years it's been around. Rad.

I've watched this part multiple times a day since it came out, one of my favourite in the past little while, made me try to fakie flip over a deck and couldn't get it, I got the fakie ollie and fakie bs shuv, timing on the fakie flip is so hard going over something I found.

I can't help but find it so cool when in 2018, a video part still has that motivational effect on people that skate videos used to have back when we had a more limited access to them. nowadays with skate footage everywhere constantly being thrown at people, when they actually watch something all the way through, multiple times and actually get inspired enough to go out of their way and try something new, you know you've got a gem of sorts. I love skate videos and clips that actually speak to people the classic way, and cherish that besides all the mainstream shit there will always be a niche (of passionate skaters) for them to garner that special kind of focus.
