I was a little sceptical, but it did deliver. One of the greatest videos of all time is not an overstatement. The zooms were distracting for the first five minutes but then you get used to it. The editing and the music is amazing. TJ for SOTY and I have to say that the tribute to Dylan is one of the finest moments in skatevideo history.

*kevin rodriques is as well

* I don’t understand why people get a boner for Aidan mcckay. It’s always the same shit.

That's the biggest overstatement I ever heard. Run time coulda been cut in half if he chilled on the slow mo, and fits were not as progressive as I would like, very sloppy. Other than that it was ok.

Cherry was available for a long ass time.  Then again, it wasn't bundled with some stupid shirt.  Hopefully, at some point, it'll be available standalone.  I'm just a sucker for physical media.  It's already up on ebay for double the cost.

Yes! I remember they had 2 runs. I hope they have another run with just the dvd. I don’t care about the swan shirt.

Too much swan, not enough KB (even though the stuff he had was insane.)
Tyshawn for soty.

Post by: sharkin on November 23, 2018, 08:37:44 AM
they never announced a second run of cherry, but the DVD went in an out of stock several times over a few months

This will probably restock at some point, but it will just sell out instantly again

TJ is on another planet compared to the rest of the video. Really liked it as a whole but tyshawns part went above and beyond what I expected. Prisoner of the moment maybe but he’s gotta get soty.

If they didn’t bundle it with a t shirt it would have sat just like cherry did. I tried to get it and it was gone instantly, pretty disappointed as well.

I’m sure if you really want the DVD the hypebeast resellers will sell them separately from the t shirt for okay prices, especially in coming weeks when they realize nobody wants a DVD for $100

Polar i'll give you but the gx video was exhausting. I could give a shit about watching 100 hill bombs. It was good but this production is on a different level. There's a lot more skating on display here

Holy fuck this shit is so contrived it's ridiculous. Trying to watch all these endless slow-mo's of skaters dressed like clowns staring down spots  makes me feel like some loser hypebeast waiting in line for whatever garbage Supreme drops next. Kinda fitting it's on pornhub cause I bet half of Slap is jacking it to this video. Time to skip through for the good skating.

Ben Kadows part felt like a parody of a Supreme video. He did 2 underflips, and 3 cavemans. That's absurd.

Good to see KB can still skate, and isn't the total pile he presents himself as.

their mailing list always alerts u like 5 minutes after the drop so most things are already gone
and they rarely announce restocks anyway but if they did a DVD only release i think theyd announce that

This video is selling romanticizing a life style which fits, supreme is a lifestyle brand based around skateboarding. In that way it’s pretty fitting. To skaters the excess b roll is overkill because sitting at a spot with weird people then celebrating the make is par for the course. To non skaters who will probably outnumber the skaters who watch this, its probably more compelling than the tricks. There was some incredible skating and some of the long edit stuff was cool. The Ben part was so bad I had second hand embarrassment. Vincent had the most watchable section. Not mad I paid for it. I knew what I was buying.

Tyshawn = Kareem + Lavar + Stevie

Nick Stain is the most underrated skater in the game

didn't realize Aidan had manuals like that

Shawn Pablo finally lived up to his potential + "Black Celebration" made me feel some kinda way

Gregiore looks like someone out of a Gaspar Noe movie

feel good movie of the year

TJ is far and away the best skater in that entire crew

Someone needs to tell Aidan that he needs to actually ride away from his tricks for them to count. 30% of his (too long) part is bails.

All my favorite tricks were done by guest skaters. Louie, Jerry, The Boss.

I actually liked the way this clip started. Ben is just some kid in New York with a sense of humor that often bleeds into his skating. His old parts show this a lot when he just made videos with his friends. The half flips and all that are obviously a joke. Bill and everyone else fuck with him because of who he is. He isn’t paying supreme to include him in their videos, he’s just skating how he likes to skate and Bill wants to document that. The clip where he kickflips off the electrical box to flat and flips off the camera definitely isn’t supposed to be serious. I’m not even a huge fan but I don’t see how this stuff goes over so many people’s heads who claim to be skaters.

- swan pablo still sucks
- kadow still sucks

- still can't get my head around the fact that rowan is on supreme, but he fucked shit up
- liked aidan alot
- where the fuck was nick stain??? that was definitely not pleasing..
- sage was ok
-the french dudes where ok, but i realised that i just fucking hate paris footage
- tj fucked shit up really hard

- those pinhead supreme pants are just hideous
- most of them dressed ridiculously stupid
- soundtrack was good for the most part

also the funniest thing to me was gonz skating a tony hawk powell peralta board

watched it on pornhub, and they recommended another video to me with the title "Fat daddies fucking bareback" and I bet that video is way more entertaining than "blessed"

I liked it. To echo what some others have said- Bill needs to chill on that zoom. What percentage of tricks are just lost by his stylization? I like that he has a personal aesthetic, but his implying a trick versus showing a trick would work better in a Hitchcock film than a skate video. Tyshawn is on another level and the clips of him dragging barriers away from security are priceless.
Title: Re: Blessed out now

I could tell when somebody apart from the Strobeck was filming, and thank god for that.

Nobody wants to watch grown ass men hand each other darts and blunts in slow-mo, nor do we want to watch a 30 second clip of two kids looking through a fence (even if it is a homage to Cherry).

Awesome skating by some of the dudes (Vincent, Rowan, Kevin and Tyshawn especially) but Strobeck really needs to go, this goofy Larry Clark wannabe would probably have closeup slow-mo shots of the dudes having sex if he could.

Thanks for clarifying that, Bill. Your commercial for $ 150 on Ebay still is big f**k you to all skaters. Please get back to posting medicore footage on instagram. Thanks.

LOL this SLAP trend of assuming posters are pros/company owners/etc. is pretty played out.
I’m not defending Bill at all, I’m just talking about Kadow’s skating. I’ll agree that this video would have been way better if all that filler slow-mo bullshit was cut out and it was just like 30 minutes long. Did you even read my post? Bill’s a kook and  so are you.

Young Tyshawn and Dylan shot fucked me up...that shot into the last round of fucked up clips has got to be one of the better sections of a skate video.

Nakel, Nik Stain, Aidan, French guys all killed it. I feel like Ben K is just taking the piss...but I don't want to watch a full part of novelty footage, though he did have some gnarly clips.

Video is way too long, and bloated with unneeded close ups that look like filler from a Canadian shop video in 2005, sans xxxxxl gear.

Baker are really lucky to still have Rowan on their team. Reynolds should give him a raise.

Seems like Public Enemy merch is all the rage in the NY scene at the moment.

The ginger kid has terrible style and trick selection.

Video needed more slow mo close ups of people smoking, wallrides and flipping off the camera.

Tyshawn is incredible. Amazing pop. Nollie bs flip over blubba was fucked

Tyshawns part was one of the best I've seen in a very long time. That backside flip over the bump to bar was breathtaking. Rowan and Vincent had great parts too. The rest of the guys seemed to kinda be doing the same stuff they always do. The emb section kinda dragged on a bit and some of the extra zoomed in face, right until the moment he pops, filming got a bit annoying.

But I wanted to see more older pros and there was waaaay too much flipping the camera off. Some shots dragged on to the point of awkwardness as well. Felt like Cherry was edited better.

Strobeck's Insta story had a pic of Spike Jonze lauding the vid's "subtle humour" so I was watching for that and didn't really see any? Maybe Nak-el pulling the bike away from the security guard as Tyshawn went for the switch b/s heel.

I did find it a bit too long! I will probably watch the single parts lots instead of the full video, one hour and half it's quite alot of content but I guess Strobeck cleared all his archive now!
In my opinion would have been nicer to select the best footage for the Blessed video and throw away some of his web clips to shorten the overall lenght  and give more quality over the quantity shots. His style of filming and deep zoomings are sicks as fuck, he is a great inspiration for me but I think it has been overused in every single clip, I think after all we skater would like more to understand better a gap to rail for istance, or a spot where the tricks get done than like what clothing his wearing or his face expression  etc which is sicks but if it's in almost every single clip for an hour straight can bee too much :(

Aidan's part very streets suburbs skating liked it a lot as well and the Tyshawn double set switch 3flip was sick! Crew vibes are the best!

The standout things for me in this video were Koston's trick, Gonz's banks trick and Nik Stain's stuff at EMB... Rowan and TJ obviously killed it too. Don't mind Kadow's skating as much as I mind him getting mad at people for walking down the sidewalk.

There’s no way Ben didn’t come from a broken home.

I seem to be in the minority, but Kevin Bradley and Nakel had my favorite parts, which I wouldn’t have expected.

I second johnes’ opinion of a “skate only” edit.  Maybe I’m just getting old, but slow-mo shots of dudes smoking weed just aren’t interesting.  I could see myself getting hyped on them if I were 12 though.

I would also like a point out my favorite guy in the video, the fruitcake that whistled to intentionally fuck Nakel up.  That little asshole cracked me up, haha.

Lots of good and lots of bad.

Would be nice to see more lines but I suppose fat bill can’t just sit on his ass and jack off the zoom if he has to follow someone

These kids (which aren’t really kids anymore) are borderline illegal civ assholes. Any behavior that makes Andy Roy proud is questionable

Overall I give the video a solid B. Could be an A- with another few rounds of editing. There’s about 38 minutes of actual content worth watching.

Rowan was my favorite, and the swan is uglier than he skates now, so I guess there’s progress there.

Aidan skates like no other pro I can think of. A mix between Ricky Oyola and Jake Johnson.

Tyshawn deserves SOTY but I doubt he'll get it because he doesn't play the marketing game in the same way that pros in California do. His part was seriously incredible.

I like the video and will rewatch altough I think its too long and GX and Polar are both better. However I am not so sure about the target group. In skateparks I see mainly overweight scooter kids wearing Supreme gear, in the street these "hypebeast kids" who don´t really look like they skate at all. I don´t think a skate video like this might be all that interesting for said people.

It was worth the wait, I bought it. Touzery, Mackey, and Rowan were amazing. It's fun to see how divided everyone's opinion of Mackey is.

Maybe Nak-el pulling the bike away from the security guard as Tyshawn went for the switch b/s heel.

this is probably the key to understanding this video. it’s not a skate video or supreme commercial per se but bill strobeck making overtures to the film industry ‘cause he plans on going hollywood or blockbuster soon.

The subtle humor is the fact that nak and Pablo are pro and their teammates all have one up tricks at the same spots in the same video. Pop shuv clip only to be one upped with a bigspin a minute or two later? Humor.

Good video
Touzery should have gone first. Stuck kadow somewhere in the middle. Sage’s stuff was good. Most of the guests tricks were sick. Kevin Bradley is the Natural, his catch on tricks is audible. Nakel is aight...Tyshawn is a freak. Nobody skates the way he does and it’s only getting better.

Thought it was great. Awesome video, good soundtrack.

Did the face zooms get a little annoying to anyone else? I get that it's the style of filming, but seriously every clip? Also pretty bummed 90% of the clips the skaters upper torso and arms weren't even in the shot during the trick. Everyone on the team has amazing styles so why would you only show their feet during the highlight of the clip???

other than that .. good video

EXCEPT

1. Ben Kadow is fucking joke.  biggest gimmick in skateboarding.   this kid is basically a full time LARPER

2. i wish the GX guys had filmed this.  why cant strobek keep an entire body in the frame?

Nakel and KB killed it. And that whistling dude was hilarious

Elijah seems to only do a few of the same tricks these days and everyone loves him, SP puts out a part with shit that wasn't bad and he hasn't necessarily beaten to death and people hate it.

Kadow exists for the 5% of hypebeasts that also like to be Upper Crust punkers on their parents dime.

TJ and Touzery kill it, FFW the rest. I agree that it won't age too well and was massively overhyped.  But then again, Supreme is the pinnacle of the hype machine these days so you can't expect different.

Strobeck's filming adds nothing to the skating.

The rest was ok, the Polar vid and GX were better in my opinion.

Touzery and Rowan for sure!
Video sure could have been shorter... But all that B-roll and slow mo sometimes helps with the crew vibe.

Really liked the soundtrack and pretty much all the skaters, for the same reason, super diverse!

You get a Rowan that does shit that you could not even think of (nosebonk nollie flip out wat) and then you get some good vibe "do-able" (or at least thinkable) tricks and spot approach with Aidan, Swan... Then back to some out of this world shit with Tyshawn... Touzery definetly has the best of both world...

Classic Pablo and Ben K bashing (maybe for that trying too hard vibe in their clothes choice?) but they really went hard in that vid. (Ollie over pole to bumpy lipslide is so fucked up, Sean cooled down on the impossibles and did deliver some gems, bs flip to fakie 5-0 for exemple).

Don't understand how some of you expected ANYTHING else than this. It's a supreme video by Strobeck, with its typical aesthetics, crew and vibe. Maybe it could have been better, but it's sure good in those terms.

I don't understand all the hate on Strobeck's filming, it's his style, if you watched Cherry and his other videos you knew what to expect; maybe he indulged too much with slomos and people smoking joints but that's what you get in a Supreme video.
Overall i liked it, tricks are great and can't really say anything negative about their skateboarding.

nakel's style is awful and his tricks are boring, aside from the front blunt he just mostly does poorly caught stair hucks

2018 has been an absolutely amazing year for skate videos and I, for one, am stoked.

it's been a solid run, gx taking the lead though

i feel bad for everyone else that put out a video in the last two or three months. souvenir, peace, blessed, 002, bronze...shit, even ether was great to watch. but yeah, nothing is going to top the insanity of gx for me, at least not for a very long time.

anyway, crazy year. thanks for the rare but refreshingly positive words, mastif.

Strobeck really fucked up tyshawns courthouse Ollie over the trash bin.

Don’t know what he was thinking with that angle.

It’s like he purposefully went for the worst angle for that trick.

So many harsh angles across the whole video. Skating and the spots weren't prioritized, some unneeded "aesthetic" was.

Fav moments were everyone skating that bump over the trash can (including reynolds), the tunes, and Tyshawn's second half. What's not to love about that part? For everything odd about this video and bill's filming, for me those moments at the end made up for it. A great example of when it all comes together just right.

Damn if I was Ben K I would be embarrassed as fuck.

Who was the dude that skated to Madonna?

ALSO I'm starting to hate Strobeck's filming. It's fucking disorienting and makes it difficult to even contextualize the tricks because I can barely see the spot.

Whilst he looks like a kook and probably is one, dude kills it on a board. I had never seen anything to justify hype in the past but Ben had some really gnarly stuff in Blessed

skatewise, they all delivered. however, how long would the video be without that stupid edit, close ups, roll ups etc. - 30 minutes*? also when looking at strobeck's posts on instagram showing all those private messages where people tell him that was the best video of the decade and it made them cry and so on? what's up with that. they emotionalize that shit way too hard. I'm glad I didn't pay for it

* Edit: apparently it's 39 minutes

Thank you for the link!

The video has some good moments. I liked the TJ part, when he skates to Rick Ross and I thought the sessions at EMB were really cool. People have written here that Bill's filming style adds nothing to skateing, but I disagree. I think that whith his particular obsessions with details and movement sometimes he can create some really cool shots. It seems however that for this video he has mostly focused his creative energy on showing supremes' clothes in the coolest light possible. In many ways their silly sweatshirts and pants seem to be the actual protagonists of the video: Zoom in on  the sweatshirt, close up of the tricks, closeup on the skater looking extremely cool. (and then they repeatedly show passerbies admiring the beauty of the young skaters wearing these exclusive clothes. "You are so cool, give me your number!"). I am almost a hundred percent certain some good tricks were left out of the video, because people were wearing the wrong clothes. The video is perfect to be played on loop in a fashion store and that's what it was made for. I kind of like it for its rediculousness and find it extremely funny that people think this silly way of portraying skateboarding is cool in any way.

video was good. filming and editing were as expected from bill.
when they skated that one cobblestone bank to ledge thing in
nyc (?) i wondered whether the intensive zoom was also used
in order to hide some gross wall/fence grabbing while they did
their slide and grind tricks there from the critical viewers' eyes.

It is in there, but it's a close up, so it does not look nearly as crazy as the photo. Plus the photo is take from the bottom making the ollie look even higher than it actually is.

I liked the skating and music a lot, but I don't think it's just an opinion to say a lot of that was seriously filmed like trash. I get it's Bill's "style" of filming, but that doesn't mean he can't mix it up. So many of the clips were filmed the exact same way and back to back, which made it nauseating to watch. I got a headache watching that EMB session and that bank to ledge. Just because someone has a different style of doing something doesn't always make it good and someone who's put out gold in the past doesn't mean they're going to do it every time.

With that said, lots of cool stuff in there. A little disappointed with Nakel's stuff, but oh well.

I agree. If it was mixed with more traditionally filmed clips at the right moments, it'd increase the quality alot. The EMB footage was a nightmare. I personaly don't mind the style per se. But I found my self thinking "why is he stood in that spot" on alot of the clips. He's like standing where the skater is gonna land sometimes. Bill style is like faux-telephoto and he should know by now that if your gonna zoom in that much, you need to stand a little further away sometimes. I feel like the filming in Blessed is sloppier than anything else he's put out. But I may just be rose tinting my memory somewhat.

^ I just watched it for the first time in the 39 minute edit. I think that the standard Bill shot (skaters face, then via the clothes to the board, then the trick, then back to the face) does something interesting and valuable. It focuses on the skaters concentration before the trick, enabling identification with him to some extent and showing how fucking serious a lot of the stuff they do is.

The problem is that he does it too much, to an extent where the tricks become irrelevant (TJ's monster ollie into the NY courthouse hardly registered at all for example). Also, since he's doing it all the time it effectively turns the skaters into models and encourages them to run this weird nonchalant/tough facial expression all the time.

The skating was really good though, I enjoyed the EMB session, Rowan and Sage's stuff the most besides TJ. After seeing his part I wouldn't be mad if he gets SOTY. I don't think he deserves it footage-wise this year but he definitely has the caliber for it, if not now then later.

I half agree with you. Even though Deluxe and FTC would have probably been down to give out the tickets, it would be weird to ask skate shops to do that, especially if Supreme ever opens up their store here.

On the subject of that store, they should have opened it in North Beach or Cow Hollow. It doesn’t make sense to be so close to the Thrasher store, but how else are you going to sell box logo hats to douchebags?

It’s hard to watch an 83 minute video with two kids and working full time but I did it and here are my very important opinions

the skating was all very good, only some of the non-skating was good

Tjs part is a beautiful edit - him grabbing security fences and bikes while still being so focused on the trick is amazing. The part makes you feel like he’s the best in the world

KB definitely has “it”

Touzery had my favorite part - such good style and hard tricks

Speaking of style most of these guys could have been windmilling these tricks and we wouldn’t know because of the tight shots

So Ben kadow is a rail guy? - he’s my least favorite but I don’t dislike him violently

Krod didn’t make me mad by his trick selection so that’s an improvement - and his section with the bros was a  cool edit

I think I could see myself putting on the EMB section and getting hyped to skate

Rowan is too noodily for me but I like what he’s doing

Sean Pablo killed it through the whole thing, plain and simple, with his own style and new tricks. I really liked the cut straight to his part from the emb section.

Aidens part is a weird slow burn.

I’m stoked I bought it because I could see
myself putting on different sections depending on how i wanna skate.

Anyway fuck supreme’s elitist fashion bullshit but thanks for the skating

Edit to include sage and nak: sages edit was cool with that song, he looks really good on the board but I wish he’d skate faster. nak is a good character for skating to have with good energy, but his skating doesn’t really do it for me

Na-Kel- Killer. Ripper. Gimme more.

Kevin Rodrigues - If this is one's personality influencing their skating, then I assume Kevin is a wanker and a bore.

Ben Kadow - Hipster Mike Vallely without the tough guy act. Ben is talented but his clothes suck, his trick selection sucks and sometimes even his style sucks. That said, he's very fun to watch and I like him a lot.

Aidan - Love this dude's mom. One drop-in per part is the max anyone needs to see. He'll be good someday.

Sean & Sage - Anyone who disses these two is a moron and should focus their own dick. Massive pop, good spot selection, style. They have it and you don't. If their shirtless bodies make you tingle, that's your trip and you should direct your frustration elsewhere.

Rowan - Sick but not creaming over this like everyone else. The nose bonk was silly good.

Mark G. - Less is so much more for him these days. Guilt ridden by writing that but true. This was enough of present day him.

Kevin B. - Insane talent. Should've had more.

Alex Olson - You just bum me out man. If you're over it, cool. But you will definitely regret your output someday. Such a waste. I'm bitter because I love you.

Tyshawn - Excellent and/or Brilliant. I'm all for SOTYs not having to coordinate releases of 3 ten minute parts to campaign with. This part should be enough and he has my vote. That backside flip ender is iconic already.

I missed the more random vibe of Cherry as Blessed really didn't venture outside of the core Supreme team. Yeah, too much slow mo but get over it.  Loved the filming, music, vibe. This was a great video.

the shorter version 53 minutes

most notably missing is people smoking sigarettes, instead of those clips i put all of sean and kadows and nakels first half footage (most in aidan's part)

also changed order cause I felt things dragged on at times and a 53 minute video is still a long video. (I.E. EMB section is cut up in 2)

gonzales section 2nd to last because of the song mostly,
serves as emotional buildup to tyshawn & bob dylan

Did not take out ALL of the slomo because i stil wanted it to feel like the original, like you are still watching a fucking supreme video with slomo's, it's just not 83 but 53 minutes long.

Tyshawn w/ opener and curtains

-sped up intro,
-2nd half of kadow
-tyshawn skating to rickross
-2nd half touzery
-2nd half nakel/bradley
-gonz
-EMB1
-rowan zorilla
-bank montage
-2nd half touzery
-sage
-EMB2
-bumb to bin
-aidan
-kevin rodriguez
-tyshawn skating to bob dylan
-rieder tribute sean

Agree on the unnecessary slow mo...Bill...enough with it!
I liked the filming..for the first 5 minutes. I like what Bill is doing with the zoom in zoom out but we don't need it for every fucking trick/clip/skater/back to back zoom on face etc.

Dylan tributes were great....maybe SP's didn't need to happen.

Ive been seeing people saying that Sean did a bunch of new tricks, so I'm curious which those are? his part is mainly bs tails, impossibles and wallies

He now kick flips into the bs tails.

For a video that undeniably has filler (slowmo/zoom/smoke joint), I sure am rewatching it a lot. Safe to say I fuck with this video despite the OD cool guy guy vibes. Yesterday was Nakel and KB on repeat.  That shit is beautiful man we need more of it. Today I’m back on embarcadero and TJ.

Also agree that I don’t mind Stroebecks style, it’s something different, he’s just over doing. And some of those tricks could’ve been filmed better

how many times do you think you have watched it so far and how many times is it one sitting?

the thought of trying to watch all 83 minutes in one sitting again has me craving some adderal

Nah I’m not watching the whole thing start to finish each time at all. Skipping around to favorites parts and watching like 15 min at a time here and there. Hi

When he lands it sounds like there is a snap, but his board is fine. I'll assume it was one of his legs.

Watching the 39 minute version really highlights how Bill does the exact same technique every time. And it's a weird technique that deprives the viewer of the full experience of watching skateboarding.

Before getting into that, I would argue that one of the main things a good skate clip captures is what the experience of doing the trick was like for the skater. To get a complete understanding of the trick, we need to be able to see the skater's full body during the entirety of the trick, and almost always their face, so that as they complete the trick we can share that experience.

Bill's filming technique is to focus tightly on the skater's face at the beginning, then as the trick is performed the skater's head and often their arms are not visible as the shot is so tight we only see their legs, after which he then pans up to the skater's face.

Over and over again. While it certainly creates a mood (and I'd argue Strobeck's ability to create a mood is his main talent), it makes for a really unsatisfying viewing experience.

There's some really sick skating in this video, but it seems to be in service of the mood that Bill wants to create. And because he's all about edge and pushing the limits, he's down to flirt with sexualizing a minor in the opening, and film smoking weed as if it's some sexy, transgressive act. I hope he tones it down in the future, because most of these guys rip and they deserve to have their skating accurately captured.

Not to beat a dead horse on my original post, but another reason Bill's filming takes away from the tricks and the video overall is the context of the spot. Someone in this thread mentioned they didn't notice Tyshawn's ollie over a trash can into the courthouse bank. When that clip played in the video, it was hard to even recognize what spot it was because of the the tight zoom. One of the rad things about that spot is the overall view and scope of how crazy it is. His filming of that trick totally took away from the unique and gnarly aspects of that spot.

Yes because slightly less extreme zooming is going to turn Blessed into a Transworld video...
The fact that everyone knows the spot makes it even worse because everyone knows how the filming did not do the trick justice.

JUst finished the whle video.

Some great stuff in there but it could be half the lengh if they would skip the overdramatic zooming.

I like Ben Kadow, he just doesn't give a damn about what anyone thinks. Especially that clip with the old guy and his crutch was sick.

Sean is starting to grow on me. Aiden had some sick stuff.

Sage is a beast, that man has pop and Na-kel really impressed me as well.

I think Tyshawn really deserves skater of the year. What a talented guy, although I think he could benefit from having a new adidas part that wasn't filmed so 'dramatically' (i don't know how to say it?)

I like Bill's style, but sometime she really really overdid it. And not always for the best.

Gotta be brutally honest. I have only watched Tyshawn Jones' part on youtube and that was enough for me. I can't stand the horrific filming and editing. I feel like filmers like fat bill and ty Evan's have filmed so much that they try to reinvent the wheel by using new equipment or new (shittier) angles to film from. Filming is one of those things where the better it is, the less you pay attention to it. For example, nobody bitches or complains about the filming in fully flared or And Now because it was all about the skating. Now, the filming is fucking horrible in this video and the previous two TWS videos (not including duets) and that joke of a video that TY Evans made (Flat Earth). End Rant.

Just watched the bootleg copy that Francis was kind enough to send me. TJs part was dope but everything else didnt really mesh with me. I dont mind because I realize its not meant for me but with the exception of Rowan/TJ it was kind of a trial to get through. I liked Strobecks filming for the philly section of the Static (3?) video but this was a bit motion sickness inducing.

Yea I noticed TJ tre over Bronx rail (only name for it I know) was out earlier in a Supreme IG post but I’m pretty sure the same day sw front heel was new to us.

I actually love the IG edit more which is rare. You can see more of the homies chillin/hometown hero vibe since he’s from the Bronx, better angle for that amazing tre flip, and it was edited to Mobb Deep 2 days after Prodigy died.

has anyone noticed that some of the footage in the video was put on instagram by Bill or some of the crew earlier? Like Ben's line at EMB where he does the nose grab over the block, cooks the ledge, then nollie back 180's up the ledge. Also TJ's switch front heel and 3 flip at that crusty NY spot where you skate over the rail into the bank (someone wanna tell me the name of that spot)
[close]

Yea I noticed TJ tre over Bronx rail (only name for it I know) was out earlier in a Supreme IG post but I’m pretty sure the same day sw front heel was new to us.

I actually love the IG edit more which is rare. You can see more of the homies chillin/hometown hero vibe since he’s from the Bronx, better angle for that amazing tre flip, and it was edited to Mobb Deep 2 days after Prodigy died.

The tre was so clean!

The standalone DVD was released on the site this morning but surprise...it sold out already. We all know those its not the skaters buying them.

Hypebeasts really know how to piss me off.

Also if anybody has their hands on a physical copy, i’m curious about what’s in the photo book. Is it just a bunch of stills from the video or other cool shit?

The photo book also doubles as a fleshlight it's amazing.

Worst video I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely awful. Some good skating in there, but what an awful viewing experience. Supreme is whack as fuck.
Seriously thought this was my post. Would have been an alright 10min. video with all the irritating bs cut out. Also i'm pretty sure these kids are all assholes too.

is there any footage of Strobeck skating? I don't mean that in a hating way, I know he can skate obviously to film, just wondering if any actual footage of him exists because it would be cool to see, kind of like Sinclair's ollie up, three flip down that set. or spike Jonze heel flip in the yeah right credits
he has a kickflip down a 3 stair in boys of summer i think

Had Strobeck ever produced a full length of his own before the supreme stuff? AFAIK he was only ever a contributing filmer but I could be completely wrong. Obviously I know he was a respected one filming with kalis and shit. It's interesting to me that Supreme, with all their money, would make somebody that didn't have a proper full length under their belt their video guy.

a reasonable price is not over retail for a video

i love putting this video on for people who don't skate. some of the slowmo filler I definitely skip through, tho

i got the dvd and photo book from them. the plastic part inside that holds the dvd was broken the whole way up the case. was also pretty bummed on the quality of the photo book - it’s just a bunch of pixelated video screenshots. i guess i can’t be mad at stockx for that though.
