Hey guys, the shop I get decks from always offers free Mini Logo grip but I always opt to pay for Grizzley or Mob because I assumed that the Mini Logo would suck. I like having a decent amount of grip, and like grip to keep its grit. So I never wanted to try it and be stuck with it if it sucked since regripping a board is a hassle.
Has anyone tried this grip?

it’s similar to mob. maybe grittier.

I don't think I'm enough of a connoisseur to give a solid opinion, but I will note that they have changed the grip over the years. My first ML grip was about 4-5 years ago. It was stiff and the edges chipped a lot. It was garbage.
About a year and a half ago I bought some ML decks direct from SkateOne and they sent ML tape. It went on much nicer and when I used some on one of my boards it did not have the same chipping issue. It is grippier than Jessup
If given the option I usually go MOB if it's a bigger board I am using in pools/ramp or Jessup if its a smaller board and I don't need the extra grip. If I didn't have the option and only had ML I wouldn't bitch that much. I would have three years ago.
If someone else comments here - let us know if you have used it recently.

Remember that Bones grip? That's when ML changed up their grip game; Bones didn't sell (and it was a different grit than the old shitty ML) and it became the new ML.
ML grip is in between Jessup and MOB, it's not rough gritty, It's rough but not gritty if that makes sense; it's also cheap!

Sounds similar in grit to Grizzley or Mob M80 grip, which are two of my go to’s

I go for M80 whenever I can, I like the grit and no bubble hassle (gripping the board isn't something I spend cycles on so I get airbubbles).
I think Bones was a silicone? And 'dual grit' or some shit (big and small granules of said silicon).
Tough to explain but when you see it in person you can see the difference, sort of like how Black Magic looks and feels a bit different.

I had some mini logo grip on my cruiser and it was decent, not as good as mob but way WAY better than jessup
Remember, with jessup you’ll mess up
-
I had some on a board a couple of months ago and it wasn't that grippy, made jessup look like mob
-
I’ve never even noticed the difference between ML, Jessie, mob, or black magic once it’s under my feet.
I’ve had plenty mini logo grip and its fine enough.
Gets the job done for me.

That stupid bear and fact that you’re supporting Torey Pudwill?

It's griptape.

I worked at a shop. Mini logo sucks. Wouldn’t stick in the new Santa Cruz Matte finishes boards.
Maybe cool for a cruiser or something, but I wood y put it in your main board that you’re skating.

Mini Logo falls into the pvc backed grips that are made in china that are mostly thick and over time can actually plit/crack with the pressure cracks in your board. Kayo also used the same manufacturing when they had grip, it's generally much thicker than ironhorse/jessup.
Mob is laminated differently than the others, it's not the thinnest like grizzly but the backing also has less adhesive and on some deeper concaves has an issue sticking well.
It's all just grip but if you work around it you can see the difference for sure.
