Been watching an immense amount of Tim and Eric during this quarantine and figured some pals would share the same comedic sensibilities. Forgive me for this is my first thread and the last Tim and Eric related posts were from 2012. During this wild shit, Beef House and all of Channel 5 have for sure helped stave a lot of my anxiety/depression. It honestly fucks me up how much content they've made over the years so let's see everyone's favorite shit!
I'll start it off with some Tom

Edit- Been listening to more of Tim's Office Hours podcast, he's a fucking genius, had me crying tears on my hour drive earlier

Whatever their deal is with dry wit, awkwardness, lightning in the bottle reactions the show’s they do are rad.
Spaghett is by far my favorite sketch. Genuine distaste for that guy’s face.

Not the biggest fan of Time and Eric, however props to Dr. Steve Brule. For your health!

No one knows what it really means.
Dill used upriver to describe something (Workshop team maybe?) somewhere. Dill also kept gushing about a podcast this guy does on his recent nine club quarantined, so it must be upriver as well. Logically.

I haven't listened to his podcast yet, but this recent Chapo episode about the My Pillow guy that Tim Heidecker guested on is great, that guy is a fucking lunatic

It was after his punk band. It was more of a dancy electronic project where his "manager" did the actual music and David "sang". Honestly I kinda got the vibe that he was being taken advantage of and I felt sorta bad.

Yeah I feel like David is not all there (obviously) and I hope there wasn’t a sleazy manager involved, but of course there is. Can I ask what gave you that vibe? I think my friend saw his punk band in a bar and he said the turnout wasn’t great.

Sorry if this is a scatterbrained post, it's been a few years:
Well as far as David himself goes, a few of us in the band got to interact with him away from the crowd and it was pretty obviously that he wasn't all there. At one point he and I were in the venue bathroom and he was trying to talk to me about fishing and college radio while I was pissing, and when he began to realize I didn't have any connections to the local radio stations he just stopped mid-sentence and walked away. My girlfriend at the time wanted a pic with him and he charged her five bucks and complained how tired he and exhausted he was.
As far as the manager goes, watching him work sorta felt like watching a grumpy parent, except he looked to be about our age. The show as overbooked and nobody got paid even though tickets were like 20 bucks, which for most of us was kind of a lot. Opening bands not getting paid isn't too unusual, but promoter homies have suggested that the dude was definitely embezzling most of it.
The most awkward bit of it came following my band's set. We were a bizarre performance art-y punk band, and our singer would often go on deranged rants that were total nonsense. If memory serves, he gave a speech about people kneeling at football games getting submerged in Gatorade or something dumb like that. (There was no political subtext to it, it was total nonsense.) Apparently this struck a chord with David and during his set, he started to give a speech about why he actually disagreed with people taking a knee. His manager, like a stern parent, kept interrupting saying "nooo David, we're not doing that David, stop it David" and eventually David lost his cool and said something to the effect of "oh, so you won't let me talk about the gays, now you won't let me talk about THIS?!" and the manager just started unplugging stuff as if to punish him.

wow, thanks for sharing, that's truly absurd...the kneeling must be in reference to Colin Kaepernick, no?
-
Yeah, it was around the time that whole Kaepernick debacle was happening. But like I said, our singer wasn't making any kinda statement, he was just weird.

I used to be big into Tim and Eric in 2009, I got really obsessive compulsive over their dark acid type skits and I had to take a big step back. The show fucks with your Intellect and like you said it attracts bad personality

The stand up special is easily the funniest thing I’ve seen in years.
I was laying in bed alone unable to sleep scrolling through YouTube and it came up in my suggestions. From the very beginning I knew it would be something incredible. From the mic fumbling all the way to the very last lyric in the last song I was riveted.
It takes a lot to keep my attention for an hour these days but this was a masterpiece.
