What was the reason?
Mine was because I don't skate

The no skating thing didn’t occur to you when posting on a skating blog?

I’m a pretty easygoing guy, but there’s a couple of things that will make me leave immediately:
Anyone over the age of 35
Anyone under the age of 25
Anyone with colored trucks
Anyone with wheels graphics out
Anyone with Philips hardware
Anyone wearing a helmet
Anyone that might be better than me
Anyone puts their g.d. hand on their board for any reason
Anyone gets into a fucking railstand
Anyone with colored/patterned grip
Anyone with earbuds in
Anyone playing music from a speaker of any kind
Anyone that doesn’t immediately greet me
Anyone that wants to stop and fucking chit chat
Anyone that says “Yew!”
Anyone that taps their board to applaud a trick
Anyone that mixes up fs and bs while naming a trick
Anyone asks me to play SKATE
Anyone playing a game of SKATE without asking if I’d like to join

Did this a week ago. Felt like shit and didn't want to be around anyone, let alone at a prefab park.
-
I got call from my friend. I’m watching my friends house and his dog got out and shit in the neighbors yard.
The neighbors call my friend who then calls me. Hence I gotta leave the park to go wrangle is stupid wild dog.
True story
-
When a random junky is sitting on one the ledges. Or if there is group of non skating degenerate youths drinking alcohol.

Really? Sounds like a groundhog mating call or something.
But it’s yewr prerogative I guess.

If I roll up and it's crowded, or if about 95% of the people skate way better than me, then I'm just gonna go to my local shitty parking lot to smoke weed and skate curbs. I hate skating crowded parks just as much as I hate killing the vibe by being the old lame dude showing up mid-session while everyones fucking it up.
-
When the dudes who blast shitty death metal music while doing weak ass boardslides are taking up space and getting in the way of the shit I wanna skate.
It kills the park vibes too
-
If i show up to a park and there is a ton of dudes on BMX or group of young kids on scooters, I would prefer not to be there but will probably end up skating anyways.
-
I got baked and forgot it at home
-
I have crippling anxiety and live in the states, where most people have decided the virus is over now. So yeah, once more than 6-10 people show up, I'm out that bitch. Plus I'm a youngish Black dude in a town not known for its open mindedness.

Yewwws are fun to throw at just about anything now. I use them at work with chainsaws to get other saw operators attention. I'll yell it at dank burritos and tortas too when they show up from the order.

The only times i can remember doing that are at this small little neighborhood park and it was full of kids on scooters

One time I was at the park alone (mid-day on a weekday) and a shirtless 70 year old man with a serious tan and a mohawk helmet (I think full pads) walks up with a skateboard (ready to skate)... looks around... starts talking to me and leads me to believe he's at the wrong place by about 1000 miles (same town name, different state). Then he just leaves.
So I guess that's one reason, no bowl.
-
Parks crowded in not even bothering to mess with it.

Skating bowls exclusively is a personality trait for some people I guess, No hate on skating bowls tho.

Went out to skate this crusty ass painted ledge/manny pad/loading dock. They put the dumpster on the edge of the ledge where you couldn't skate it so I just went the fuck home.
-
Crowded parks especially cause the only 2 locals near me are small as the fuck. We usually just end up skating our local high school.
-
Either it started raining by the time I get to the park or a homie makes a spontaneous plan suddenly when I get there.

It’s closed
There’s too many people

So you’re out on the bay in ya tinnie, and ya just dropped a bit of burley in the water, when all of a sudden ya Jarvis Walker eggbeater goes off, so you’re fighting this fish for like 10 minutes, and when ya reel it in, ya mate is like ‘Yeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww, 3 metre flatty!!!’
And that’s yeeewwwwww
-
Can you now say that in english cause i still don’t understand what the fuck i just read

Kids practicing flatground in the bottom of a bowl.
Little kids putting around on scooters in the flow of traffic while dad looks at his phone.
When anyone is giving "lessons."
When the local park jocks are around.
When people are doing photo shoots/filming music videos.

-
i roll past the park and if i dont like what i see i just keep driving, but one time there was some band concert thing happening at the other end of the park and there was some kids trying to do a cover of sweet child of mine and i left shortly after
-

While it doesn’t happen much where I live, I went to the st Pete park a few months ago and they were doing a contest the next day and the skate coaches were out in full force.
It was so embarrassing/annoying we packed up got some jai alai and went to Bradenton and had a great time.
Also 9 year olds were better than me so fuck that

Not at all. On more than one occasion, I've seen crews of 20-30 people with no skateboards show up and bounce around in the deep end of the bowl for a couple hours to some mediocre Soundcloud rapper in dayglo camo cargos while some "director" flies a drone with a GoPro overhead. Girls with Penny boards taking dating profile photos, too. It's a fucking scourge.
-
no parking

The locals have been uhh doin the exact same thing all year ... which is to say, nothing has changed despite the pandemic. So sometimes i'm like Oh dam i miss the homies. But uhh ... yeah don't wanna enter the incubation zone, so :-\

I got asked by some nobody rapper and his “director” if I wanted to be in the background of his music video. He would be lip syncing his rap in front of the transition and I was to do some rad tricks behind him. I said “Fuck it, sure.”
I didn’t mention that I barely know what the fuck I’m doing on transition.
After about 2 minutes of watching me skate the director said they’d come back and try on a different day, haha. I understood.

Also gangs of mini crotch rocket assholes that like to do burnouts in the bowls.

When another group of friends that I've seen at parks around town my whole life but have never spoken a word to, except for the occasional awkward "what's up," are in there hootin and hollerin like they are having the best session of their lives while all of my friends quit skating over a decade ago and I'm just sitting there making myself hard in the parking lot.
-
One time my friend went to the skatepark and ate a bagel and then left. It was kind of like he entirely went to the skatepark for just breakfast. I thought it was silly. He did finish the bagel first try.

When Sinner isn't there<\3...
-
If I’m answering truthfully: scooter crews. Nothing bums me out more than being the lone skater at a park with a bunch of scooterers who are old enough to smoke but haven’t yet quit scooting.

Nah I used to film a kid like this. He always had to show off to his homies sitting up on the wall, always wanted me to film some new trick that he learned the day before. He thought he was the shit because he could kickflip the 5 stair first try. A lot of guys at my local are like that.

makes me think of a guy I met a month ago at the park. He was complaining about his brand new board or something and I said that my (destroyed) board is trash but I cannot afford one at the moment. Then he said " I did not pay for it", I was "oh cool" then he waited 5 seconds and said "I am sponsored". That was the end of conversation

He could probably break that one and go straight back to the shop and get another one. I skate any board I can get and very few are terrible to me.

Dude, nothing pisses me off more than when someone has their dog at the skatepark. That's probably a bit of an exaggeration, but there is no reason for your mutt to be inside the park. I get it if things aren't fenced in, or there's a grassy patch or whatever, but if there's nothing but concrete and we're fenced in, and the dog is just running around without a leash getting in the way, fuck that so hard. I don't want to run into your dog.
I hate that everyone who has a dog assumes that everyone wants to play with their fucking dog, so they think they can bring it everywhere and it's totally cool. It's not fucking cool.
-
I have never really liked parks ( with the exceptions of ZT Maximus and 8-ball back in the day) But unfortunately where I live now there is 6+ months of snow so I have to skate at an indoor park or not skate at all. There are typically zero skaters there and it gets absolutely flooded with rich little entitled kids on rollerblades. Yes rollerblades. it's quite the scene.
