917 too cool for school Robin ran it into the ground and now goes back to her old home to save it. Sounds very Democratic of 917. Cool concept that never took off due to poor mgmt now its 3/4 DOA at BB. Another company that pros get paid next to nothing to have a board on.

Didnt Logan run 917? From what I heard, Alex had no part in managing the team, graphics, edits etc. AO definitely influenced a lot of what the brand is don’t get me wrong, however word on the street is that he gave the keys to Logan to run the company however he liked.
Cyrus’ comment how AO isn’t his boss on the slappals questions should make much more sense if this were the case.
Can anyone confirm if I’m right or way wrong?:))

Wasn’t there some interview very early on in 917’s formation where Alex specifically said he didn’t want to be responsible for running a “real” company that was beholden to seasonal release schedules, etc? Certainly people can change their mind over time, but this still doesn’t seem like something Alex would want to do. Did he fully give up the reigns and will just be a rider again?

Dude, I'm telling ya, there's some fuckin weird shit going on with their shapes. I was so stoked cause it was a greco board but the ends were all fucked and pointy, and the concave was like 4 mm. Literally couldn't pop anything. This was like 3 years ago but that awful ass board scarred me.

I wish they made boards with a 14” wb, seems like ever board out of BB is 14.25 and up.

917 has a flatter 14.12 wheelbase that has been on most of the recent drops and on all of them for the past few years. I’ve skated it twice and it’s nice, but a bit mellow for my tastes. It’s a less pointy Baker, which is why there’s footage of Cyrus on Bakers here and there.

I have a Greco b16 shape with a 14” wheelbase, where it should be 14.25. I also have one of the primitive 8.25s that are listed as a 14, but it is closer to 14.25. The deathwish is older, I’ve had it done 2017, just set it up before the winter, so covid bbs theories don’t apply.

I had to hit em up a couple times and they were like yeah our current distributor is blowing it and the stuff you ordered is sold out. I couldn't really find anything I wanted for equal value so they took a hit and let me get a hat and longsleeve which was like 10 bucks more total than my OG order. Thanks 917! No more costly mistakes thanks to the BakerBoys

What's the deal with that 8.6 shape? I ordered the Genny 8.6 deck a few weeks ago and all online images show it as a popsicle shape, but it showed up and it is very much an egg/football shape. That bakerboys catalog shows the Wilson guest 8.6 shape as popsicle too, but in that instagram photo of the actual decks posted up above, you can tell it's shaped like the Genny one I got. Would be great if they could actually be accurate!

Couldn't imagine how much it would suck trying to sell boards on your own when you know the company is done.
