Damn, RIP.
That’s a beautiful photograph. As morbid as it sounds, and with all due respect, it makes a great memorial photo.
-
Fuck. RIP.
-
RIP
-
Awful. Local hero to me and everyone else in and around North OC- Brea, La Habra, Fullerton and people connected to Liberty Board Shop and stuff. Jonas ruled and was a super nice guy to me every time I saw or talked to him throughout the years. Sucks. RIP.
-
wow. That sucks. RIP Jonas
-
RIP, he was a sick skater, loved his footage and fun attitude he had about skating. He will be missed.
-
Oh damn, feel bad for his brother
-
Damn, RIP! Wray bros worldwide forever!
Here’s an interesting and memorable read:

Such a bummer.
I'll leave it to someone else to post the amazing Salt Flats TWS cover.
I always loved this photo:

another gone way too soon. RIP to a real one. Condolences to his friends and family.
-
so sorry to hear this
in addition to what a ripper he was, to this day this is one of my favorite episodes, and not just because of him spitting beer all over everyone towards the end (although that was classic too)...just good fun...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vDmngiVioc
he and Jeremey seemed like really tight and loving brothers--what a ripping family, so much history in skateboarding...so sorry for his family and friends...
-
Dang RIP 🪦 he was definitely an influence on me. Met him and his brother in Colorado early 2000’s .
-
Fuck man so sad, such an underrated skater. Looks like he was skating almost right up until he passed. RIP
-
RIP to Mr Seven Inches :,(
-
Damn. Breaks my heart to hear this. Such great style and seemed like a super nice guy.
This must be tough for Jeremy. Condolences to the family :(

This has always been one of my top five favorite covers. I remember reading his interview in that issue so thoroughly. I was 13 years old at the time and going through a board every two months or so. He said in that interview he would break a board (or more) every session and I rushed into the kitchen to show my mom and tell her every two months wasn't that bad.
RIP to Jonas and thoughts to his family.

I was thinking of this cover and interview too when I read the topic title. I remember him saying something if you slammed on the salt flats and you would cut open your arm or hand the salt would burn like hell so that cover is a lot gnarlier than it looks.
Rip in Peace.
-
Rest in Paradise. Too many skaters going way to soon.
-
This is not the time nor place to speculate how he passed. Be respectful. R.I.P. Jonas.

theres a great story I think by grant in a Transworld about he and Jeremy trying to steal the big huge framed version from the Transworld offices
-
Jeremy said he passed away in his sleep on his Instagram, said he found him on the couch, sat up like he was taking a nap. No foul play, no wild story.

Every time I see his name I think of this salt cover. So sick.
So terribly sad to hear this news. I feel like he was slept on in the 90s, underrated for sure.
RIP and prayers for the family

Teared up a bit reading Jeremy's post, just thinking how much it would hurt if I found my own brother like that, can't even start to imagine. Rest in Peace Jonas and strength to Wray family :'(

perfect photo! I imagine at one point it would been hard for him to skate in Jeremy’s shadow knowing that his brother was literally the best skater on earth, but he always came across as a super humble guy who was just stoked on rolling. Was shocked when I saw Jeremy’s insta this morning, RIP ripper!!!
-
RIP Jonas.

Damm

That TWS cover is still awesome, think he said that if you slam on it it just shreds your skin.

He also had super sick photo of nollie frontside heelflip over picnic table, I had that one on my wall as well.
Condolences to his friends and family.

RIP to a real one.
Forgive me for not knowing, is there footy for the salt flats ollie?
-
Jonas had some balls! That mangling he took from that cliff jump was insane.
I can't imagine how Jeremy must be feeling.
Two peas in a pod.
Wray Bros. rock on.

Absolutely gutted at this one.
Definitely one of the underrated greats.
My thoughts to the Wray family.

Such a heartbreaker. Always dug his skating, RIP.

I wasn't trolling. I just thought that an otherwise healthy person maybe it was covid. Since there is a pandemic on.
Anyway it's not really important.

Rest in Peace Jonas.

seconded. I don't know if it exists or not either but would love to see if so

Did you ever see the original tip trick video he put out?
It's tattooed in my mind. He basically thought me how to skate in the early 2000s

He and his brother were the best brothers in skateboarding. It's sad he is gone so young. His passing away peacefully in his sleep seems so sudden. RIP and my sincerest condolences to the Wray family.
-
Super sad... think of how much skateboarding bonds you with your friends... no imagine you had that bond with your brother... someone you've literally known your entire life.
I remember when Quim's brother Mike passed and thinking about how devastating that loss must be having a twin brother that you have skateboarding in common with... I'm having that same feeling now thinking about Jeremy and my heart goes out to him.
-
RIP
That TWS cover is a classic - Got it at home somewhere.
Feel bad for the Wray family .
-

Yeah me too man, these brothers were meant to grow old together as best friends. Not like this. Fuck.
I'll never forget Jonas and Jeremy suddenly appearing with Pat Chanita at a session at the ol' Trabuco Hills High School ledges circa 1996. We were of course blown away. My friends and I were trying to ollie a trash can laid on its side. They set up another trashcan upside down nearby and Jeremy Wray just heel flips the whole thing on his first try. But then his brother comes up next and fucking nollie frontside heelflips right over the top as well. I had never seen a trick that technical done with that much pop and height before. It really changed the way I perceived what was possible. Such a skillful ripper.
RIP

I remember as as a kid having a subscription to Transworld. Ok as a young kid aesthically I was not usually looking at pictures and being blown away. I know who Jonas Wray is obviously but after seeing that cover gad damn I thought it was him not positive but sends chills to me as that imo is 1 of the BEST photos of skateboarding ever taken not only a cover. Even if he was still alive its been years since I saw that picture and its like being fried into my brain if that makes any sense sorry im just a late 30s skateboarders trying to cope with middle age ha RIP
