I know it’s no good and bad for the earth.
Probably why aliens don’t say what’s up to us cuz we look like psychos but what’s good?
I like the Taco Bell menu for overall and also the Popeyes spicy chicken Sando is nice.
-
I'm not down with the entire menu, but I'll always fucks with a Big Mac meal.
-
Haven't had fast food in years, but I used to fuck up the Taco Bell value menu and McDicks dollar menu on a regular basis. Being a young stoner had its perks, but that shit would probably kill me now.
-
It’s all shit but if I’m going to eat garbage better it be vegetarian ie bean and cheese burrito or something similar not with sketchy meat.
-
I had lunch at Culver's today. Pretty good for fast food and the price is better than any of the big burger chains.
-
chipotle, taco bell, del taco, panda express
fuck it, all of it. shits fire.
-
Wendy's is top tier. Doughboys podcast approved.
-
Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich is god tier. Also Arby's kinda hits, some of their more premium sandwiches are great. I refuse to eat dollar menu shit unless I'm in a hurry or broke.
-
Wendy's, arbys and popeyes are the best options but there's something to like at each chain. Except burger king. That shit is fucking garbage
-
If I were stuck on a desert island and had nothing but one fast food option... gotta go with Wendy’s.
-
In n out. Double double animal style. Fries animal style and a Neapolitan shake is my combo rn
Alberto’s carne asada fries
Koja kitchen is good but more fast casual
Bk impossible whopper
-
Koja Kitchen costs $100 to eat at, gtfo with that.
Last time I drove to LA I took 101 instead of 5. Stopped at in and out in Ventura. I had to pull over at a Starbucks in east la or I was going to shit my pants. Never again.
I don’t eat beef anymore, but Carl’s Jr. was the best. Still fuck with the chicken.
El pollo loco.

Lmao it be that way that Bay Area rent doe :o😳
My butthole can endure in n out. ✌️

I will eat Chic-Fil-a a couple times a year.
I worked fast food all through high school... most of the food was insanely poor quality and I remember most of the people I worked with "washed" their hands by just dipping their hands in the sanitizer water that had all the rags we used to wipe down the tables.
I never saw anything super gross happen to someone's food (no spitting in the food/dropping then serving it), but expiration dates never mattered and we were taught not to give a fuck about anyone's food, especially if they were in the drive thru, because "Fuck it. Dude, they're not coming back to complain."
One gross thing was that someone managed to throw up in the freezer once a year. One time, the dude threw up, left it there, and then some poor girl had to chisel that shit off the floor the next day.
The worst was when this crazy ass chick Marissa got sick in the middle of the shift. I was on drive thru and she was on front counter during the lunch rush. Something was wrong with her in general, but this day she was taking orders/serving people with one hand in her pants. Everyone she handed the food to wasn't sure whether they should take it or if they should complain. Eventually, she started throwing up in the small trash can in my drive thru area. It was disgusting. I'm not sure what happened after she started throwing up. I just took my headset off, clocked out, and drove off.
My favorite manager was a 45 year old dude who used to blow coke in his truck on his breaks and his mistress would come visit him at work. Sometimes he would come back inside with coke all over his face. He was always good to us and treated us with respect. He was a train wreck of a dude, but a great manager.

Here in Portugal we don't have as many fast food chains as in US. Especially in my area the only restaurants are BK, McDonald's, Domino's and KFC. Last weekend I only ate McD's and BK so I'm kinda sick of it and I'm not eating it for at least 2 weeks.
What's White Castle like? I saw that shit in Harold and Kumar and it seems fucking delicious. If I ever visit USA I'm definitly going there lol
-
I rarely eat fast food but two days ago I went to BK with my Godson. I was appalled at how small and lackluster those burgers were. If I want a burger, I make the patty myself with freshly ground beef, add an egg, onions, chili pepper, breadcrumbs, condensed milk, and Worchester sauce. Try it, you'll never look back brehs. The fries are dope at those burger joints tho.
-
Whataburger.
-
Anyone here like Hardee's? I've only had it a couple times, but both times I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
It's like how you imagine your fast food to be when you get a craving for it.

Hardee’s/Carl’s junior are a strong tie for second place

American fast food is one of the biggest things I miss about travelling to the states.

that's not a burger, that's a meatball.
that said, it sounds tasty
I haven't eaten proper fast food in a long time but when I crave it it's usually Popeyes or Raising Cane's. Oh and McDick's but mainly just the hash browns.
-
I have been upset with taco bell since they got rid of the beef xxl grilled stuffed burrito. That was the bomb.
Good times is pretty good for burgers. Raising canes probably has the best fast food chicken fingers.

Wow what a great idea why didn’t I think of that. Next time I’m on a road trip or in need of a quick work lunch, I’ll just drive to a grocery store then back to my house to make a burger from scratch.
I have very low expectations when it comes to fast food, but I hate getting ripped off. I got 8 mcnuggets when I ordered a 10pc recently and drove back around for the other 2. You’d think they’d throw in a couple extra for the trouble, but it’s true, they do not give a shit.
I always check the apps for offers and coupons too, love a good deal on already cheap crap. I know BK sucks but I do love those roadhouse jrs that just come with onion rings and bbq sauce on them.
-
So I haven’t thought about this in a while and for good reason but since we’re talking about Burger King I have a doozy of a story.
So it’s 1999 and I’m working at BK night shift and golden gallon gas station in the morning, I was super hungover during this time and I wasn’t feeling it, I was staying at a crack house type of weekly rental apartment/motel.
So I tell my boss at BK can’t come in and I’ll try and maybe come in later than expected, so I’m just working the gas station and hating on life at this time. Friend’s come through at the station and are like Rob let’s go to such and such house!! Pussy beer and drug’s fuck yeah I’m going.
So next night I’m going to see what’s up at BK well turns out the night I was supposed to be there a group of people came in robbed the place but took the 3 people in there in the walk-in freezer and shot them all for the morning shift came in to find them.
-
In-n-Out is KING.

Jesus fucking Christ dude that's nuts, you dodged a bullet there (literally).

That burger sounds good but yeah man it’s a meatloaf at that point. All American skinny ass grilled patty is what I’m looking for when I’m seeking the trash I crave.
White Castle is good. I think I went to a bad location cause the grease seemed to make everything taste the same and the location seemed sad. Onion pieces were good.

I stand corrected.

I fuck with kfc zinger burgers or those sweet chilli twisters....i could take or leave the buckets of chicken though....also i dont get certain peoples hype with mcdonalds, its okay for a quick feed while driving but out of all the options i wouldnt choose maccas
-
Yeah those zingers are quality I back the twisters too but I go the one with mayo
They got these things called original tenders they go alright with the dipping sauce
How does Popeyes compare to kfc?
There’s a Carl’s jr near reddy I thought it was very good, burns maccas. But I do like a Big Mac
We don’t get the McDonald’s chicken sandwich here and it’s a shame
We got a Taco Bell too and I have had the Crunchwrap supreme heaps that’s ones good
I get Cali burrito at Guzman and Gomez but I reckon they are expensive for what you get. Their queso cheese is real good to have with a bag of tortilla chips
-
In CA, I think In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco are objectively the best fast food restaurants.
-

Came here for this. Is that sandwich really that good?? Any dissenting opinions? Still haven't tried.
-
I get Wendy's twice a year because there is one in the parking lot of the strip mall my dentist's office is in. The thing I hate about fast food is how good it looks in advertising and how bad it looks when you actually get it. On TV the burgers look so good, then when get one they are all tiny and soggy.
-
How does Popeyes compare to kfc?
Everything about Popeye's is better, except maybe the biscuits. And yes, that sandwich is super good. Except the pickles, but I just don't like pickled cucumbers.

Hard disagree on the biscuits, popeyes biscuits are way better. I enjoy both kfc and popeyes, but popeyes is objectively much better. Actually you know what, I'm gonna just rank this shit.
Chicken
1. Canes
Chicken, fries, toast and sauce are all superb. In n out of chicken spots, simple menu executed to perfection
2. Popeyes
The best "fast food" option, quick and easy but still high quality
3. KFC
Passable food, good in a pinch. Some stand out items like chicken littles
Burgers
1. In N Out
Best out there. Simple, classic menu, terrific fries, consistent results with food. The GOAT
2. Freddy's
More of a 1b for me personally. Unique texture for the meat, great sauce, pickle spears instead of regular pickles, excellent shoe string fries, and delicious custard
3. Wendys
I usually go for the chicken options here, but their seasonal signature menu items are fantastic. High quality ingredients, fries are a little lacking but still passable
-
Raising Canes is fire
Arby's hits right if you know how to order
BK is garbage to the highest degree
McD's is great if its a good store and you're in the mood for that nostalgic taste
Wendy's is underrated and 90% of the stuff there is pretty good and cost-efficient.
I fuck with some Panera Bread
Jack in the Box is trash. end of story
Taco Bell is great. again depends on what you order. there's some shitty ass items on the menu
Chik fil A can suck a dick
Hardees is low key underrated. they have these deep fried apple pies that are next level.
i love fast food. don't eat it a lot anymore tho.
-
Also, i don't know if anyone else here is a Mexican food connoisseur, but any restaurant that gives you fresh, hot, salted tortilla chips with salsa at your table is a huge deal in whether or not i think that place is good, also well seasoned carne asada. Lots of grey, mediocre carne asada at your "-bertos"/"-bertinos" chains. Also del taco is way better than taco bell.

Oh, I wasn't making a concrete statement. I actually haven't been to KFC in years, which is why I put the maybe in there.
Any time I'm in Portland I have to hit up Burgerville.
-
Canes is my pick (whataburger a close second). There’s a 24 hour canes near the city... 2-3 in the morning still fresh...
-
^^^whataburger is great. It’s TX In and Out.
Zaxby’s in GA is the best. Their wings are too good for fast food. Better than Buffalo Wild Wing and ready in 5 minutes.

top 5 are
Canes
Zaxbys
Bojangles
Waffle House
Whataburger

Oh man...You got me craving that now. So good.
-
McDicks, BurgerThing, TacoHell, PizzaGut, DomsNHoes, Lil Greezers...
I haven't eaten any of that stuff in probably 10 years but I'm partial to taco/burrito wagons in the area. There's also this local chain called Aztec Grill, idk maybe it's a whole of California thing, that slings halfway decent, made daily, sometimes to order, burritos in gas stations that's alright in a pinch. Some kids opened up a fried chicken truck recently, with expensive but rather good boutique chicken sandwiches.
I used to fuck with this place called TakeOut when I lived in North Carolina. they had good enough chicken strip plates that could last a couple meals. Had some bible verses on their cups if I remember correctly. It's actually probably pretty gross lol.

CookOut? That place is definitely grease heaven so the verses make sense.

I would argue that’s next level up like Fuddruckers type shit. Fatburger is more of an event. Been to the one in Torrance near the airport. Always good to load up before entering the airport. I believe it’s a black owned business too so it’s cool to support.
Anybody from WA eat at Dick’s? If I ever go to WA I’m going there. Roadside food is my favorite. Full on Americana...

yaaaa, cookout. I don't know why I thought takeout. :o I was kinda living in my car/couch surfing and seeing these 2 sisters at the time (it very quickly became one when the other found out) and the one I kept kicking it with would buy me Budweiser, Cisco wine, tobacco, cookout trays, and gas money. what a fun/gross period of time to be a 21yr old bum ha ha ha

-
Don’t eat a whole lot of fast food, but KFCs chicken pot pies were always descent.
Arby’s I just keep it simple and get beef and cheddars with about 5 cups of that 3 pepper sauce and dunk the fuck out of it.
Not sure if they count as they’re more of a drive-in but I love coney dog/root beer stands. There’s a chain in my area called B&K I’ll eat 5 coneys with onion by myself and regret it the rest of the day.

I googled fatburger, we got loads of places like that here they’re real popular. Yeah event for sure, the photos are always amazing but it’s so hard to eat such a large burger
This is not really fast food chain but it’s my favourite burger joint for sure. I like it cause it’s simple, everything you need nothing you don’t sort of thing

We used to get those kfc pies you could buy a bunch and just freeze them
I remember Popeyes from little Nicky hahaha
I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of USA fast food last night haha
So many options

I guess when I think of fast food, I think of chain restaurants where most of their locations feature a drive-thru. Also, Fatburger is a tad on the expensive side, and I was kind of balancing affordability with taste/quality in my evaluation. But I stand by my assessment that In-N-Out and EPL are the best CA fast food restaurants in the areas of burgers and mexican food, respectively.
Edit: Like Chick-Fil-A, I believe there is a religious-right-leaning to In-N-Out as a corporation as well (at least they print bible verses on their drinks, not sure if they donate to hateful groups too [pretty sure they do]), which is unfortunate. EPL, however, seems to be quite secular/apolitical and donates to some pretty good causes.

I was told that In n Out was donating to Trump’s re-election campaign, didn’t eat there again until after Biden got in
-
Chick-fil-A is the best fast food chicken sandwich easily, they pay more (probably less overall just because of volume) for better quality chicken than other brands because chicken is their whole menu basically. Popeyes breading works better for tenders. The people who love the Popeyes sandwich just love the Mayo I guess? Cookout in the south is probably the best deal for the food quality/ price/ selection. Plus being open all night. Bojangles takes the crown for best fast food biscuits, but the quality varies a lot depending on the location. Tudors is probably second best biscuits, kinda a different style though. Burgerville in the NW will cost you about the same as sitting down at a pub and getting a burger but it is decent quality. They have a small value menu that is pretty disappointing. Pretty good milkshakes though. Dicks in Seattle is good drunk food, kind of the older style fast food burgers that are getting harder to find.
-
What a fun thread to read during the COVID Weight Loss Challenge, hahahah. Also, I haven't eaten meat in 8 years, but I still fuck with some heavily modified Taco Bell and some other fast casual stuff.
I haven't had it in years, but have any of you pals had Five Guys (Burger and Fries) before? Pretty satisfying, old school inspired fast food with some elevated ingredients?
Chik Fil A will never get another cent from me, but HOLY SHIT was that good the first time. Especially not knowing they were homophobic zealots...
Also, call me basic, but I love some Panera, or as I call it, Pantera. "Do you want to get a couple salads from Pantera?"
-
I am waiting for English and Scottish pals to weigh in with fish suppers, deep fried Mars bars, deep fried pizza slices, chip butties, crisp butties, scooby snacks and other delicacies. But perhaps they don't consider this fast food but rather haute cuisine ;D
As a reference, I have travelled as far as Brae, Shetland, to taste Frankie's fish supper (no. 1 in 2015).
https://www.frankiesfishandchips.com/ (https://www.frankiesfishandchips.com/)
Not sure it is the best though, the fish supper served at the AM Politician on the Isle of Eriskay was at least as good.

I fuck with 5guys here in montreal
Uber eats ruined the fastfood experience to me tho, always waiting 30mn next to 5 delivery guys
-
5 Guys cajun fries, yes. Made with actual potatoes and fried in peanut oil.
Shake shack, yes. Like In n out, but everything is way better. In n out has got to be the most overrated place to eat in the world.
-

A shake shack just got built within walking distance to my house. I'm pretty excited to try it out.

Shake Shack and Chick Fil A are the best choices IMO. In n Out is overrated and their fries are horrible. Popeye's went downhill since they were purchased by Burger King but the new sandwiches are good.
What else?
Bojangles every time I hit the South!
-
5 Guys is way overpriced.
5 Guys is actually great for vegatarians. They have so many toppings, you can just order a burger with no burger and it's really cheap and they usually hook it up.
Mayo
Lettuce
Pickles
Tomatoes
Grilled Onions
Grilled Mushrooms
Ketchup
Mustard
Relish
Onions
Jalapeeppers
Green Peppers
Bar-B-Que Sauce
Hot Sauce
A1 Sauce

Fuck yeah can we talk about fishos here?
I love seafood basket, love me the calamari, the prawn cutlets and the little garlic prawns
Deep fried Mars bars are dope but I haven’t had one in a couple years. I go the fritters too like banana fritter and pineapple fritter. Usually I just ask for cod sometimes crumbed sometimes battered
Those fried whiting fingers are outrageously good
Gotta have a bit of lemon on everything
I have never had a deep fried pizza faaar out I hadn’t even considered something like that
I’d try it
I just googled frankies yeah looks proper, that batter looks really good
-
Quesalupa is back at Taco Bell and it is god level.
I used to prefer BK to McD's but BK has kinda gone to trash. There's a Mackers close enough to my house for a late night Big Mac when the mood strikes, and I love the breakfast sausage burritos.
Anybody out there ever eat at a Sheetz gas station? They make ridiculous shit like this sandwich called "The Big Mozz" and its a Chicken Parm sandwich with three Mozzarella Sticks on it. So fucking good.
Unpopular opinion probably here, but I prefer Church's Chicken in the fried chicken realm.
-
Unpopular opinion probably here, but I prefer Church's Chicken in the fried chicken realm.
Church’s is way better than KFC but doesn’t touch Popeyes. But I know other people, even a few real southerners, who think Church’s is top.
I’m talking strictly on-the-bone chicken here… no sandwiches or fingers or whatever shape fried chicken takes these days.

I work in a town that only has fast food options for lunch. Most days I just don't eat lunch. Days I do need something it's Taco Bell or ChickFilA. I hate the CFA politics but fuck is their spicy chicken sandwich good. I guess I'd rather put money in their pocket than Burger King or McDonalds in my body.
-
Portland, of course, has some pretty upscale and decent fast food joints... Super Deluxe and Little Big Burger.
But I'll hit a Taqueria first.
-
Can you get halal snack pack in USA?
It’s a styrofoam container full of gyros meat, chips, cheese, and sauce
Delicious
-
5 Guys is way overpriced.
i feel like its priced accordingly for some shit you probs shouldn't be eating on the reg lol. i also wouldnt consider 5 guys "fast" at all.
mcdonalds breakfast seems to be the only fast food i mess with anymore, those greasy hash browns really hit the spot.
biggest thing that keeps me away from fast food is the disappointment. if its tossed together sloppy or served up cold its just so awful, it burns my ass paying money for garbage. otherwise id be buying chicken fries and chalupas left and right.

I LOVE TACO JOHNS. Also TacoTime (hence my name ... haha). Don’t live anywhere near either one but am all over them when I’m traveling out west.
Locally for me: Spicy potato soft taco +tomatoes at Taco Bell. Someone in their corporate office had the ridiculous idea they should stop offering items with potatoes, but thankfully that’s over.
In the meantime I started trying to recreate their chipotle sauce to make my own potato tacos at home, I’m close but not quite. If I get it, I will post the recipe, the original is insanely good. Hopefully someday ...
Also their rolled chicken tacos, they’re not around all the time but when they are ...
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JgXym0geX_o
Everyone seems to assume I’m going to be like the chick in the flowered shirt when it comes to babies, but I am totally the guy with the tacos.
-
I forgot about Taco Time. There was one when I lived in Santa Rosa, but I left there in 91.
I’m a big Del Taco fan. Their chicken soft tacos are so, so good.
-
I'm from WA so when I travel I like to try the regional fast food spots.. Zaxby's was my favorite in the SE, also Captain D's and Bojangles..
Up here, Dick's is the best shit going.
-
In CA, I think In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco are objectively the best fast food restaurants.
This, and add Del Taco.
In AZ, its gotta be Filiberto’s.
-
It might only be an Austin TX thing - but P.Terry's rules and as a tourist going around the states i thought it was as good, if not better than In N Out, Shake Shack etc. Great burgers, solid french fries - they also seem chill on the politics/community support front too which is a pleasant surprise given their competition.
-
Noticed many fast food places offering a chicken sandwich that looks exactly like the Popeyes one. Never forget the Popeyes chicken sandwich craze. Fights & stabbings. Sold out for the longest time, not sure if true. Probably some genius marketing scheme, it worked.
-
Burger King's new chicken sandwich is great. Might be my favorite.

What's so fire about it? How does it stack up to Popeyes one that they couldn't keep in stores? Telling you how many of those I had would be embarrassing info...The commercial makes it look great, I cant find a BK that can make suitable food. Its all fiends zoning out like they were on Kensington Ave
https://youtu.be/EftSsSjlZag
All I know is: spicy chicken sandwiches that also have not sweet pickles are the key to life (ending sooner than later)
I really like how the brioche mixes with the pickle and then the fried chicken, lubricated by that nasty ass good ass mayonayonaise...that shit is explicit
-
I try to go to Hawaii as much as I can every year and, I hate to admit this, it's mostly for the McDonald's. Crazy, right? (Mickey D's and the musubi.) They do the pies the old way, where it's fried like an egg roll, and they usually have taro and haupia (coconut) flavors. And spam brekky all day. I just can't get enough of it and it makes me so hangry to think that the other 49 states are blowing it. (Yummy!)

I went to a hood BK at 11pm and it was still fire. Big, juicy chicken. Did not get the spicy, but the sauce is good. It’s kind of a thousand island thing. Pickles I could take or leave. I’ve only had the Popeyes one once. It was very good. BK reminded me of it. The kfc one a few times because there’s one near the house, not great. The McDonald’s ones are trash.
Jollibee has a really good one too. They use a garlic aioli that had a ton of flavor.
-
Just tried the new McCrispy chicken sandwich because I am weak and have no self control.
The potato bun was very dry and tasted kind of burnt even though it wasn’t. The chicken patty wasn’t that big, wasn’t that juicy, and definitely wasn’t that crispy. This sandwich is what the “McChicken” should be.. and the “McCrispy” should be a different sandwich entirely, one that at least almost holds up to other crispy chicken sandwiches.
-
This thread probably contains some of the most crucial info i have found in regards to my upcoming U.S- trip, gonna have to check out the vegi stuff.
Over here (Germany/Switzerland) I mostly go for the falafel places. Although the can really be hit or miss, when you check out a new one. Cold food and soggy bread being the main culprits.
McD, BK, Subway etc. are all just way too overpriced imo.
-
The Bacon King from BK is top notch fast food.
Thing is delicious and massive.
-
There's a canes where I lurk now. I went there once, and some dipshit was providing back up vocals through the drive through speaker, just screeching like a fucking chicken while taking the order.
It also gave me methane farts so I haven't been back.

Del Taco has much slept on shakes. If you like real ice cream with hella real strawberries, get that strawberry shake. And grab a churro while you’re at it.
Any pals in the Midwest fuck with Culver’s? I’ve heard nothing but good things.

seconding. Culver's is fucking excellent. I consistently crave their burgers when I want a good ol cheeseburger. Something about the smashed patties and the high quality ingredients, with that Wisco cheese....damn! plus their flavors of the day are pretty spectacular.

Del taco is the best
-
I felt like Culver's used high quality ingredients, but it didn't stand out. I had it 2 or 3 times over and span of 7 years and never craved it and don't miss it.
-
I know that's just my opinion, man. But here we go:
Popeye's has gone downhill since they were taken over by Burger King.
In-N-Out Burger is really overrated. Their fries are horrible and they put 1000 Island Sauce on everything. The Double-Double is good but not anything you can't find elsewhere.
Shake Shack takes the crown for me in all of fast food. Portillo's is consistently legit if you're in the Midwest.
The McDonald's chicken nugget is the best nugget out, if made fresh and consumed right away. The McDonald's Egg McMuffin is the ultimate breakfast sandwich.
-
Just had my first Popeyes chicken sandwich and it was life-changing. Probably the first time I've ever ordered something and it was actually as big and as good as it looked in the picture.
-

Thing about In-N-Out, Shake Shack, etc is that basically every major city in the US has at least one small, greasy smash burger joint that's probably been in business since the 40s' and beats the brakes off both of these places.
In KC we got Town Topic, which basically renders the Shake Shack useless to me.
-
I literally don't believe anyone that doesn't rank Culver's at the top. Not only the best burgers but also the absolute best ice cream out there. What a combo
-
They're not the best burgers but White Castle has always been a must everytime I visit Detroit.
-

White Castle is a guilty pleasure for sure. My family has a tradition of getting a couple of crave cases every New Year’s Day and eat an uncomfortable amount.
-
This morning I skipped my usual yogurt parfait in favour of a Breakfast Baconator combo from Wendy’s. Highly recommended if you’re craving a burger and fries at 7am and want to feel like garbage for the rest of morning.

I feel the same about McDonald's. They go bad in 10 minutes flat but straight out of the fryer, salted liberally, and dipped in Heinz ketchup (none of that house brand shit) they're a comfort food for me.
I don't know if this counts since it's not a traditional fast food place, but I wish people outside of the Mid-Atlantic region got to experience the magic of Sheetz when you're stoned at 1 AM.
Anyone tried the wagyu burger from Arby's? There's only 2 options, I went for the big mac imitation one. Actually a pretty good imitation of a good hamburger for $8, and you get the added bonus of curly fries. It's not going to replace my beloved beef n cheddar, but I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

Can’t speak for NC but in Virginia it’s kind of the go to fast food spot especially past 12 AM. The cost has gone up a bit in the past few years of course but it’s still the most affordable best tasting poison in the south.

i feel like the hype has died down a little bit. the one by the college is always packed but they've been popping up all over the area and i rarely see anyone at the drive thru (granted, im driving by them at normal food hours and not midnight).
its good but none of the locations are close enough to the house for me to get it often (10-15 mins to any of the close ones).

Custard, if I'm not mistaken. It beats soft serve 100/100
I try to not eat fast food ever, but if I do, it's culvers.
-
Shake Shack is garbage, they barely season their beef so you really feel like it’s just a slab of ground beef, it’s fresh but nowhere near worth $10 for a no effort burger and some frozen crinkle cut fries. They opened one up literally on my corner and I’m bummed.
Popeyes used to have way better chicken but when they run good deals I’ll stop grab some, the red beans and rice is so good and the biscuits are top tier when fresh, location is very important though you have to get a good one if they have shitty owners you’re fucked, plus sandwich is whatever they either put an insane amount of Mayo or and insane amount of hot sauce when i got it either way
I used to live next to the checkers on girard and broad in philly so I’d eat there all the time for the 4 for 4s
Wendy’s 4 for 4 is the go to for value but their nuggets taste weird, burgers are tasty though, also you might still be able to sub an iced coffee for your soda with the 4f4 if you’re on the go
Taco Bell is delicious but you’re spending minimum $10 getting anything good which is what I’m trying to avoid getting fast food, I’ve eaten like ten tacos at once though, with chips too I love Taco Bell. I’m of the opinion that the plain tacos are the best, Doritos or soft for me, but I like to throw a classic crunchy in for childhood nostalgia purposes sometimes. Crunchwrap etc shit is weird, it always tastes kinda good cuz it’s Taco Bell but it’s not as good as the classics. Their chips and nacho cheese are scrumptious
Chipotle is alright, don’t want to spend $12 on lunch but truth be told it’s nutritious at least, it’s real food to an extent
McDonalds is my go to because I drink a ton of coffee and I use their $1 coffee coupon every time I’m out and about. I just end up getting a $4 double hamburger combo with my coffee. I justify it because I don’t eat enough red meat or iron rich food in general so it’s a decently filling portion of weird but satisfying McDonald’s burger when you’re emergency hungry, then you get a huge coffee for when you go skating for $5 together. Not a bad deal but I hate the food now. Back in 2015 I used to get their chicken tenders for fifty cents each with a coupon. I’d get 8 and take them back to my apartment around the block and make chicken and waffles with eggos and aunt Jemima syrup.
Burger King is alright I haven’t had it in years used to go to the one across from Cecil all the time. Whoppers are delicious but chicken is weird
Chick fil a is so fucking good that sauce with the chicken mmmmmmmmm
All in all get all the apps and don’t pay more than $5-6 for shit and eat it in emergencies and you’re good
-
wendy's tip: lately ive upgraded from the double stack to the daves double with the pretzel bun. its like a different place when you get the bigger patty and its so damn good.
-
we don't eat at any of the old school fast food places. there's a lot of places here in austin that we hit when we need something quick. tacos are big so i go with trochy's
(https://torchystacos.com/wp-content/uploads/baja_021221.jpg)
or taco deli.
it's not drive up as much as order on the app and pick it up but that flow works fine for me.
we also do rudy's a lot for breakfast

for burgers, i don't really get the hype on in and out. we've got hat creek and p'terry's here which i prefer.
we also do chic-fil-a a bit but i just don't get the hype. 3 drive throughs with long lines at each
-
not sure if this has come up in this thread or if these are located outside of the Detroit area, but i've been addicted to the Falafel sliders and their seasoned fries (fuck, and the breaded cheesy curds). shit is definitely a bit more expensive than regular old "fast food," but worth it in my humble opinion

Chic-fil-a is a less than mediocre chicken sandwich, and the owners continually fund people to vote against the rights of many of my friends. I won't eat there.

Quality is way better in Canadian KFC and McDonalds, KFC especially. I used to love eating KFC when I lived up there but I wouldn't touch it in the US. Gotta throw Pizza Pizza and Swiss Chalet on the list too, I'm gonna order some Swiss Chalet gravy now so my girl can try it

What was they place in Canada called that did roast beef in an onion bun things? Haven't ate meat in years or been to Canada but I remember they were the best. Plus yeah the root beer in them frozen mugs at A&W fucking rules.
When I was broke the $2 subs at subway were my staple food. The odd $2 KFC and $1 slices were also consumed non stop.
Fuck Fast Eddies! Dill Fries holy shit that's a flash back! Is that just a London Ontario thing thou?
-
Arby’s is the roast beef spot, with the curly fries. Solid spot but not many around anymore.
A&W is overrated. Buddy burgers and onion rings are good but their fries suck. I used to hate Harvey’s but came around, their burger topping options rule and their poutine kicks ass too.
Mary Brown’s is indeed the shit, the taters are next level. Tater poutine, omg. KFC isn’t as good but has way better deals, Popeye’s is good but expensive.
Can’t believe US Wendy’s do (or did) 4 for $4. We briefly had 4 for $8 I think it was, but now all those items are only sold separately for like $3/each. Such a fuckin ripoff.
Subway too, cheapest 6” is like $6.50 after tax, and now their debit machines and mobile app prompt you for tips on top of that, haven’t been since. Hot & Readys are over $9 now, pre-tip, which why the fuck am I tipping for a Hot & Ready?
-

One of my favorite memories of undergrad was when I had a roommate from Thailand. He LOVED KFC in the US. He said that there was a substantial difference between ours and theirs and as a result, ate it on a weekly basis.
I was still friends with a previous roommate who moved out and happened to be black. The Thai roommate ended up bringing back a bunch of KFC, not knowing that the old roommate was there hanging out with us (I am a Saltine-American and the other roommate was middle eastern). Long story short, we all ended up eating the KFC but the old roommate was visibly uncomfortable. "Dude, you aren't going to be perpetuating stereotypes" was all I needed to say to smooth over the situation so we could all eat in a harmonious manner. It was a veritable real life Curb Your Enthusiasm moment. I should hit those guys up again.

There are several Vietnamese (loosely speaking, you know what I mean) restaurants in my neighborhood. They are actually quite quick with food service. And the food is generally very good. They will invariably throw a fit if you want to order Pho to go. You could live behind the restaurant and they will try to make you eat it there. It's just something they don't think should be done. My first time at a new Pho spot and it took me fifteen minutes to convince them it'll still be just as good when I get home five minutes from now. It was fresher fifteen minutes before that, but that wasn't persuasive somehow.
They take that shit seriously.
It's maybe important to note that at a one time I had been working third shift for a number of years and I really, really didn't care to have a dine in experience in the middle of the day. Just want food and get the hell back home, eat it, and crash.

It's not a sit down restaurant if you don't sit down in it, is it?
Yes it is you absolute brainlet.

It may or may not need to be said that fast food doesn't mean the food travels at great speed, but merely that it's prepared quickly, and being prepared in advance is as quick as you can get.
You can get takeout from Nobu, you would describe them as a fast food restaurant?
You can sit down to eat at McDonald's. Would you describe that as a sit down restaurant just because you sat down in it?
No, because McDonald’s is fast food, even if they have seating. It’s sort of like how a restaurant with table service isn’t fast food even if you get takeout
Is it also sort of like how you don't call your mom a prostitute because she's "friends" with the people that pay her for sex?
-
Do you guys know each other irl? Arguing with strangers on a MassageBoard about what constitutes fast food. This is embarrassing for you.
-
Nah. He just seems to want to have a go at me. I've asked twice what the problem is, but I guess he's too shy to say. I'm fine with it. It's more fizzle than sizzle at this point anyway.

Posts idiotic take, somebody points out that it’s dumb, you get so butthurt that you go back and forth and argue yourself into a corner, realize you’re wrong and are so small that you have to call their mom a prostitute, then immediately deny that you’re arguing or care when called out. True emotional brainlet manchild activities. Go convince your neighborhood Italian restaurant to put baked beans on your pizza you fucking spastic.

Ed, from the bottom of my heart can you just please fuck off. I like your skating takes but it’s so annoying when you do this.
-
some bullshit
I didn't call your mom a prostitute, I asked you why you don't. It's a legitimate question.
-
We could be friends. It's no big deal.
-
I'll never think of this post and just to let you know people very rarely die twice.
You gonna bother telling what your problem is or nah?

Do you guys fuck with Sonic? I had never had a burger from there despite living near one, until today. I thought it was great; old school walk up burger spot kind of double cheeseburger.

Sonic burgers are nice. Their hotdogs are gross.
Tater tots are nice and mozzarella sticks are fire.

Mozzarella sticks are indeed. I never thought of it as a place to get a meal, just the drink/ice cream/snack spot.

I fuck with any eating establishment that serves a good chili dog. Truly one of the most underrated foods of all time

i always remembered them more for their shakes and ice cream rather than anything else they got

It'd be nice if Culver's were on the east coast.
(Just checked the map, looks like a bunch are down south but nothing north of Carolinas)
But I also kind of appreciate the concept of regional chains, makes it nice whenever I go to midwest to hit a culver's, just like it used to be with chic fil a only in the south

Went to a vegan fast food restaurant yesterday that is running with the whole McDonald's steez. It's called Mr. Charlie's.
Instead of the Big Mac, they have the Big Chuck. Frowny Meals, that sort of thing. They have double doubles too. But everything is plant-based.
I asked them how long they've been open, figuring it was a couple weeks of a pop up and they will be shut down by McDonald's in a month....but evidently, they've been open for 9 months now. I guess they change the fonts and colors just enough to ride the wave.
It was pretty good, felt like I was in a WacArnold's. A tad expensive tho.
I look forward to the day when vegan food is popular enough that it can have an established pipeline and be a big enough industry that it won't be so expensive. The idea that it is cheaper to literally maintain livestock than grow some soy is insane to me.

Recently tried their pretzels… surprisingly good. Mozzarella sticks are the go to tho..
For shakes and ice cream usually it’s Dairy Queen.

We have something similar to that here in SoCal called Plant Power. They have their version of the Big Mac called the Big Zac.
Overall, the food is good and they have some tasty drinks. But you like you said, its a bit on the pricey side.

Worth checking out if you're ever in the area

Nice, thx, there is a Plant Power right down the street from me in S.D.
Looks like they have one here in Hollywood too.
Excited to give it a shot.

i was on vacation and in the past 5 days ive eaten bojangles, burger king, popeyes, zaxbys, mcdonalds along with some restaurants. i have a very visible protruding gut now and ive gained probably 15-20 pounds. suprisingly burger king one on this round, the fries were crispy and the burger had the signature bk taste going on wonderfuly with perfecty carbonated soda.
-
damn i really spelled won "one"

Okay, I tried Plant Power and rather enjoyed it. Probably on the same level as Mr. Charlie's in all respects. Thanks for the recommendation, GrayCellGreen.

Not a problem, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Now I'm going to have to try Mr. Charlie's next time I'm in LA.

Cheddar bites and a Fritos chili cheese wrap or two is a major guilty pleasure meal for me.
...actually, nah I don't feel guilty at all, that shit slaps.

after passing through every local drive through in recent weeks...( except KFC & Popeye's )
- McD
- Jack in the Box
- Wendy's
- Carl's Jr
- Taco Bell
- Del Taco
- El Pollo loco
I decided to cap off this depressive episode with a last hurrah at Burger King
So far im loving the fries, onion rings and spicy nuggets. their bbq tubs are really hitting a high note.
the taco is holding its own but I prefer Jack's.
this whopper jr is a great nostalgic flavor but the big king's sauce is too sweet.
Big Fish is on deck followed by the italian BK royal crispy sandwich ( since my work has a chicken parm I'm obligated to compare )
for dessert we'll (royal we) be having the hershey's pie

I'm hooked on the coffee frappé from Mcdonalds... I'm not even sure why. It's nothing too remarkable but tastes a lot better than an iced capp from Tim Horton's. I try not to buy the food but got a 1/4 pounder tonight and added a bunch of mushrooms to it when I got home.
-
Just tried BK’s new butter chicken poutine and ketchup flavoured nuggets. Both were surprisingly really good!

Not fast food but frozen foods considered, anyone else fuckin love these things? Grew up with them and still buy a bag once a year or so and they fuckin slap

When those frappe things came out I was hooked too. My wife is convinced those are why I got fat. I’ve had maybe a dozen or so over the last 15 years, but 10 of them were in the first few months. I guess they used cream for the milk. Still fat.

You pair these with Doroitos and it’s almost a death row quality meal. I ate so many of these as a kid.
-
Im bummed because I no longer can handle Taco Bell. Getting old sucks. Turns me into a shit machine.
-
I rarely ever have fast food, but had Arby’s for the first time since probably around 1999 today. Just had the regular plain sandwich with curly fries and it was surprisingly good. I kind of want another one and get cheese on it.

sounds good as hell right now and adding to my recent arby's cravings. i like to get a cup of the cheese sause and i can dip the fries and sandwich instead of just having it on the sandwich. or both.

Goddamn Taco Bell Volcano tacos are back and I just found out.
Fuck. Gotta eat as many as I can before they're gone again.

Something about them isn’t the same as the classic ones, the sauce ain’t saucin as much.

I was on a 6+ hr solo drive after working an event where i slept max 4 hr/night for 5 days/nights, and stopped at mcdonalds for an iced coffee. It was pretty good for $2

Man that sucks. I'll still give it a try, my memory of how they tasted is pretty foggy, just know I loved 'em.
Hopefully I won't notice.

$1 with the app, dunkin app has some crazy deals too if you're an iced coffee guy.

I recently spent $20.46 at Taco Bell. I was all at once angry, disgusted, and disappointed in myself.

Don't feel too bad about that, Taco Bell is expensive as hell these days. I got a 3 soft taco combo the other day and it was like 11 bucks.
-
i cant do taco bell anymore, for a while i was living off dollar menu cheesy bean and rice burritos.

Taco Bell is the only place that made me vomit without being food poisoned. It just tasted that badly.

Yo! Plant Power is delicious. Got down with a solid meal, last time I was in San Diego.

Miss the Verde burritos. First time I tried it was fire, second time I tried it they botched it so bad, basically just added fries to a fiesta burrito and forgot the Verde sauce.
-
So, is del taco better than Taco Bell?
I had cinnamon donuts and churros at the San Clemente del taco 2 weeks ago at 10 pm and they were incredible. Hot out the oven/fryer. But the tacos looked below Taco Bell standards so I passed. Comments?
-
I like the del taco bean burrito with green chili, the cheeseburger and the churros. Otherwise I think their tacos are lacking in flavor compared to the bell.
-
I’d rather Del Taco than Taco Bell. They don’t have Del Taco where I live though so I can only get it when we visit the in-laws. That might be why I prefer it.

I was notorious for sneaking late night bites off the butter as child. That kid's heart-attack is hitting too close to home right now.
Picked up this exclusive collab today. A fine marriage of flavors.

So, is del taco better than Taco Bell? ...
Taco Bell has its own signature fragrance like McD's so I think that puts it above Del Taco.
Same way I've noticed networks have a look to their shows like FX compared to apple TV compared to that generic WB vampire stuff etc
Del Taco ingredients always taste like something that got sorted out for QC.
