Currently skating the spanly G6. Love the sole. Also really enjoyed the Dickson but I’m getting to old to skate Vulcs. wino is the best slip. Something with emerica really helps with my flick
@EmericaTM when’s the spanky wino cup coming out? And this may be something you can’t share but is there a method to the madness on unlocking the catalogs on issuu? Like I check (more often than i should admit) to see if if they are unlocked and some I assumed are past that season or like the gum pack one is locked still and I think those are out now.

The Spanky slip on was supposed to drop this month however due covid and the ports being extremely backed up, they will be dropping in a couple weeks once shops get them first.
Regarding the catalogs, some probably forget to get made public. I'll reach out and get that sorted. I try to get all Emerica catalogs public a little bit before that season drops so people like you can check it out beforehand.

Reynolds G6 is still going, but I am down to my last pair. I also really like this pair of Americanas that I picked up and put some STI Energy Foams in to replace the really thin G6 insole.
I sort of want to try the Low Vulc. I've put it in a cart about every day this week but I never pull the trigger because I am a dumb man.

Been wanting some all white shoes for a while, they seem to be few and far between these days so might get the Gammas next. Currently got 5 pairs of Reynolds / Lows, I could happily just buy the new colourways they do each season and be happy tbh

I wish they didn’t discontinue the wino g6, those new ones without the padded back just don’t do the same justice.
The wino slips were great too, but my biggest complaint about Emerica these days are the colorways are rough, they can be clean, not so bright, and I personally am not a fan of that stiff sole that the figgy 2’s had.
The figgy 1’s are still the best they’ve had in the last five years

you can get them on the emerica eu site or i think burnside shop in germany might have some pairs left. haven't found anyone else in germany carrying them. still have to get a pair myself. probably have to order on the emerica site.

Really hoping for something with more material than the Spanky G6. Loved the Reynolds G6, stoked to try the slip on G6 cup. Basically anything G6 cupsole will be an immediate buy from me. Most comfortable soles I’ve ever had. The fucking best.

I switched over to cupsoles this year after skating the Dicksons late last year. There was nothing wrong with them and they skated well, but I was having feet and leg pain.
Been skating the Romero Laced and I love them. Wish I would have tried them years ago.
Also been wearing the Spanky G6 for a few days now to break them in and they feel really good. Looking forward to skating them.

Yeah I feel mine has lasted longer than I expected. The upper has no holes and the sole doesn’t have any bald spots yet. Surprisingly durable.

I'm skating the Tilt right now and it's a lot like the Reynolds 3 g6. Foot sits deep and locks your heel. It's a much better vulc than the Vulc low.
I can barely get my foot in the Spanky g6 and Alcove CC in my size, and both have no heel lock. I want to try the gammas and hopefully they fit better than the other newer cupsoles.

US 7.5 in Emerica and Vans is a EU 40. And in Lakai a 40.5. That's a bit confusing but doesn't seem like Emerica does a 40.5 EU size.

You have trouble with those metal eyelets? Seems like I would destroy a shoelace every session. That was my biggest complaint with the Spanky. I also thought it looked weird on my foot. Loved the flick though. Kickflips felt great in it.

Yeah I have one lace broke that’s tied together because I don’t want to replace it but should. I thought it would be too “dressy” looking for me. It kinda still is but I put white laces in them and I think it fixed the dressy issue

I don't have a lengthy review but I have been skating them for about two weeks and can say they are good. Emerica's double wrap vulc soles usually make the shoes seem a little bigger or wider than what they look like from the upper. Like when the shoe is against the black griptape the outline of the sole seems to be bigger than that of a regular vulc. For me it took a session or two to get used to this but overall the shoe skates surprisingly well. To the shoes credit the added rubber from the double wrap vulc will make the shoes last longer but if you're not used to it than it could take a min to get used to it. I have the grey/white colorway and love the way it looks so I'd say definitely give it a try.

Loved the look of the Reynolds G6's, but didn't like skating them at all. I prefer cupsoles generally, but they felt thick and stiff to me. Also ran super narrow.
Loved the 1st Hsu's. I can't even remember if they were a real vulc, or a pretend one, as emerica likes to do.
I have two pairs of Reynolds that I keep thinking I'll skate, but they feel heavy on foot compared to what I'm used to.
Will probably pick up a pair of the Pillars.

Just rode around in some Figgy Doses after wearing them around for a week. They feel like a more supportive pair of Laced.
I only did a few slappies but they feel pretty nice.

The doodle logo stuff was only for the Doodle Pad pack by Spanky. The next colorways are just team models just like the current slips.

This is a question that I have had for a long time, as many others have as well. In 2008/2009,the MJ1 was re-released and not in a bastardized form.
1) How was this possible?
2) Why can't it be re-released again? It would basically be printing money.

Yes the MJ was rereleased as "The OG". The reason it happened then and hasn't been produced since is because of that mold not existing anymore. With that said, we are rereleasing it again.

Yes the MJ was rereleased as "The OG". The reason it happened then and hasn't been produced since is because of that mold not existing anymore. With that said, we are rereleasing it again.
That’s exciting and I’m hyped to see them. Just wanted to say though, I had a pair of the MJs way back in the early 00’s (amazing shoe), and also a pair of the OGs. And honestly, something was off about the OGs.
They didn’t feel the same as the first MJ shoe. They sucked to be frank. I don’t know what it was, and I was wondering if my shoe tastes had just changed or something. Maybe that’s all it is but I know I’m not the only one who thought the OG paled in comparison to the MJ.
If the OG was an exact replica of the MJ - it was so long since I had the MJ that I couldn’t really tell - then my tastes simply changed over time. But if not - please, don’t make the remake like the OG and stick to the real original MJ shoe.

Ahh thank you. I was thinking about it last night, trying to remember any changes between the two, but it's been so long. The OG actually seemed a little bulkier/puffier inside than the MJ from what I could recall.
It's definitely possible though that they are the exact same, and I lost my taste for those shoes awhile back.

I'm a bit late but the Pillars are pretty close to the the old Hsu G6. A little bit heavier (the Hsu was super light) but last way longer.
They feel a bit like a cross between a Half Cab and a Hsu, definitely my favourite Emerica right now.

Alcove CC is a pretty solid middle of the road cupsole. I have a slightly skated pair and I like em. They’re more comfy than figgy dose since there’s more tongue and collar padding. That Formula G sole ain’t bad! It takes a minute to break it in but it’s worth it once you do.
The toe box is long AF! Personally, it messes with my kick flips a bit since I’m used to Marana, Dunk, KWalks 1, Joslin 1 & 2, etc. toe boxes, but I got used to it. I recommend this shoe to try before they phase it out.
Gamma also looks good, but it looks a bit “potato-ey” in some top down photos, but maybe lacing em a certain way and them forming to your foot will fix that. I’m excited for the Gamma G6 by Julian.
Also, KSL G6 Reissue will be a new favorite once it drops!

I went TTS. But I have kinda wide feet so idk maybe get another opinion. But they fit good for me.

I know it's a bit delayed - but I'm 7.5 in vans as well. 7.5 has fit me well in emerica (reynolds g6 and wino slip cups).
Picked up some Wino G6 slips in my normal size and don’t know if they’ll work to skate, but they’re comfy and will make pretty good summer chillers. I have fairly narrow “low volume” feet and running thick socks kinda negates the summer skate shoe idea I was chasing. Not bummed on them at all, I just don’t know if slips will work for me.

For me they are. At least in length. I got a 10.5 .
But they are wide on the front.
I skate them with sport socks and fp insoles .
Without that, they would be way to roomy on the toe box.
Overall I think it's a great shoe. After a bit of break in time and getting used to the wider toe box .

This is a question that I have had for a long time, as many others have as well. In 2008/2009,the MJ1 was re-released and not in a bastardized form.
1) How was this possible?
2) Why can't it be re-released again? It would basically be printing money.

Yes the MJ was rereleased as "The OG". The reason it happened then and hasn't been produced since is because of that mold not existing anymore. With that said, we are rereleasing it again.
Please tell me they will have the pour in G6 sole.

and maybe do the same when you bring out the ksl, that white one was synthetic back in the day anyway iirc.

I had some when they first dropped the pig suede ones. Idk if they still are pig suede or not. I really liked them. Flick was great but the right shoe only rubbed my pinky toe a lot. They broke in after a while and it stopped. But to be fair. I have super wide flinstones looking foot and most shoes that have that court style toe pinch my feet so. I think the left didn’t rub because that’s my front foot and it probably broke in quicker. I may not be the best to ask but. The flick and durability was good. Just didn’t work for my wide ass foot.

I've been skating the Figgy Dose for a few weeks. Maybe like 5 sessions though because of the forecast predicting rain every single day.
I like them. Super light, broke in quick and they have a great shape. Lace protection is really bad. G6 midsole would be nice, too.

Like ten years ago, Emerica would be all I skate and now the usual 7.5 I always wore don't fit me anymore and the 7 is way too narrow. So the pillars felt too big in the toe area. The higher sidewalls are nice but they are slim and floppy and don't feel very supportive if you are looking for more ankle protection. They are very comfy but sadly my feet didn't feel secured enough in them.

I've given plenty of money to Nike, Adidas etc over the years and I am looking for a pair of shoes strictly to skate in. I think it's time to give back to a homegrown skate shoe co. and show some love to a brand that meant a lot to me in my youth. My last pair of Emerica's were the Shake Junt Reynolds 3's (black/gold sole) in 2011, fuck I wish I hadn't sold those. I'm contemplating buying a pair of Jon Dickson's shoe, has anybody here skated them? I really like the look of them. Is there anything I should know? TTS? I wear a 10 in Cons, 10.5 in Nike/Adidas/Vans and an 11 in New Balance. I wore 10.5 in Sole Tech back in the day but have no idea if the sizing has changed.

I don't see the Reynolds 1 ever being rereleased honestly. Never say never though so who knows. I don't think the MJ 2's will be rereleased either as majority of people prefer the MJ 1 which was way more iconic in my personal opinion. With that being said, we are rereleasing The OG (the MJ 1 remake released in the late 2000's) next year.

They fit perfect. 10.5.
The quality of the shoe is really good so far.
Nice stitching.
They seem to be a lot stiffer than the Gammas but they fit my feet better. Not to wide on the Toe Box.
The Laces are trash . I think they will rip pretty quickly.
Just from walking I can say they are pretty comfy . My first impression is that I like them more than the Gammas.
So this could be my next favourite Emerica shoe when they hold up when I skate them.
And they were already on sale.. 65€ instead of 95..

I found the Gamma to be surprisingly sharp/narrow in the toe, is the KSL similar or wider to you?

The Gamma was wide shortly before the toes and more narrow/sharp at the end. Kind of weard. The KSL is a bit narrower at the beginning. Not that much but it makes an impact and still kinda sharp at the end

Some may say the G6 (or STI/Energy Foam) insoles inside a G6 cupsole may be overkill, but I don't think it is. For some, maybe! It takes the right shoe depth/collar and thickness of insoles to make it work.
When I was just out of high school, I used to double insole in some shoes because I had to buy 0.5 or 1.0 size up. Money was tight and sometimes those sizes adjacent to my actual size were on sale.
The Gamma and KSL can get away with it, but I think the Slip Cup and the Spanky G6 are more of a challenge since their collars are noticeably lower.
That said, I have some etnies STI insoles in my Gamma G6 right now and it's my second time wearing them. They feel significantly better with these (slightly broken in) STI insoles! They don't feel gummy/spongy but also don't feel super thin!

Not a current Emerica, but found a pair of old reynolds g6s for 50 and pulled the trigger. Very very comfortable, and lots of forefoot cushioning, even more than tiagos. The g6 midsole feels very nice.
Not as wide as I had hoped, so doesn't feel as quite as stable as tiagos, dunks, jordans or 440s in terms of preventing ankle rolls but its definitely well structured and very supportive, I just have wide feet and shit ankles.
Personally can't imagine putting an aftermarket insole in here, would lift my foot up too high. They're quite stiff and thick already compared to the above shoes I mentioned so will take some breaking in, but I imagine the sweet spot once broken in will be very good. Noticeably more cushioned than dunks/jordans, and a bit more so than tiagos but just in the forefoot.
