Anyone remember that post from a while back on Ishod's page where he and some other dudes were all stuck at an airport overnight? think a flight got cancelled that a whole slew of pros were supposed to catch to the next stop of whatever competition they were going to and they're all just skating around the airport goofing off. They run into Yuto at some point who's just doing his own thing and rope him into skating with them for a sec too. Shit rocked.

this was in the middle of the night at the Detroit airport. The ground there is actually really good for skating if it’s not too packed haha

In anticipation of the incoming Trump admin I made a pretty large bulk purchase at Mesa, and one of the employees emailed me back asking if the numbers were correct. I said yes, and said that I wasn’t sure how the tariffs were going to impact the industry so I wanted to make sure I was stocked up. Anyways, the dude was super cool, sympathetic, and seemingly understanding of what would eventually end up actually developing. Did not come across as being a fan of the incoming president or what he represents.

Initially the carvings were to feature prominent Native figures but the sculptor chose to instead feature US Presidents that were direct opponents of American Indians. The Supreme Court has since awarded the Lakota Sioux compensation which has risen to over $1 billion, however they have refused outright and are still demanding it's return as the lawful owners. Standing on business.

Mount Rushmore was promised to the Lakota Sioux under treaty by the US government. Settlers found gold there, and then the government illegally seized the land promised to the Sioux. Initially the carvings were to feature prominent Native figures but the sculptor chose to instead feature US Presidents that were direct opponents of American Indians. The Supreme Court has since awarded the Lakota Sioux compensation which has risen to over $1 billion, however they have refused outright and are still demanding it's return as the lawful owners. Standing on business.
aside from being "promised" or granted in a treaty, along with all of the black hills, it's sacred land to the Lakota. It was known as the 6 Grandfathers, representing the six directions, north, south, east, west, up in the father heaven, down with mother earth.

True true. "Promised" in the sense that the US government had promised not to take their land. Poor verbiage on my part. But yes, in addition to stealing the land outright, the government also desecrated it with the faces of the literal oppressors of the people the land is sacred to. I didn't know the 6 Grandfathers part, that's interesting, thank you
