I mean, he has been repping them for a while, and when they announced Jake Wooten a month ago, there wasn´t any teaser, was it? So its either Andy, or someone else that is a ´´bigger´´ pro, I guess. Or Gravette, I think he is wearing Etnies now, that would be tight, if he got fully on.

he (Andy Anderson) was saying in a recent NKA vid that he's been working on that yellow shoe he rocks a lot with the laces flap.
he was saying it was an old freestyle Etnies shoe he's bringing back iirc.

Mine too when I was like 14 (I'm 30 now.) All black suede cali cuts. They were the biggest shoe ever back then haha. Like 1/3 people at my school, both girls and guys, had them. I think in their heyday they were even bigger than DC courts.

This is actually pretty awesome. Think what you want about Andy or freestylers in general, he's a great representative of a niche kind of creativity in skateboarding and his general message as a skateboarder is a way healthier kind of inspiring to the average kid than a lot of the more contrived bullshit that's otherwise out there. Better see a whole new generation of skaters looking up to him and embracing a carefree approach than one more obsessing over wearing uniforms and how well they can backside tailslide their little skatepark box, really desperate for corporate validation. Etnies is also one of the least obnoxious brands out there right now. I can dig it.
My favorite skater is Jake Rupp, remember. Also I suck at back tails, remember.

He’s also on minilogo trucks and wheels. Which are great products, but put dude on bones official.
I’m not even a fan of the dude, but I do think his skating and influence is under valued.
If those are his color ways, then bleh.

He's on Bones already, often prototypes. Bones bearings and rails too. Powell boards (obviously) and Mini Logo trucks with a mix of Mini Logo and Bones bushings, so it's Skate One all the way. I had a pair of Dill's pro shoe and the flick was great. Currently have the Veers and it's not a bad shoe either. They can make good shoes. Unfortunately they went too far into the mallcore/extreme rabbit hole, the shoes largely look ugly, and there's no real brand identity or flavour to Etnies either. I get that it's a historic brand, but it's not appealing.

If you can get into skating for really cheap it's good, then just depends how u like ur shoes and like to spend. I personally got the Czar's in the days of catalogues and liked to see why shoes were priced that way. .

Thank you for sharing this @Lou Strux - this is great. I think my favorite is the Tricks Tips [sic] section where there actually are no tips and just more sequences of himself throughout the ages. Shout outs to Bob's Trick Tips if anyone remembers that amazing prehistorical website (because prehistory was before mankind invented social media, right?...). Skateboarding really drives all kinds of profiles, I genuinely fucking love it for that.

I ride them......cheap, light, and they turn real good.
Another ML truck fan checking in. I know they look dumb but they skate awesomely. They're one of the only low trucks with an axle over 8" I've skated and they're the best turning ones by far. They're responsive but not twitchy and they're stable as all hell. I don't love the grind, but not because it isn't functional or anything is wrong. It's just a preference thing.
They do look a better without the stupid embossed logo on the hanger but unfortunately 2 of my pairs are old ones that still have it . They're maybe the dorkiest looking truck I own now that I don't have navigators anymore.

But to the Boomer wanna-be Hellriders of Slap, since he wears a helmet and appeals to the wrong type of skateboarder (young people with their lives ahead of them, successful and well adjusted adults with jobs), he’s persona non grata.
Of course no one here could ever skate like him, and if he were actually shredding your local, you’d all stop what you were doing and watch him. And if he were branded differently but skated in a similar way (as is the case with Ben Koppl/rollersurfer), I suspect that the same people would claim to love him.
