It's pretty damn funny if you ask me. At first I wasn't too hyped on the name Turf but it's starting to grow on me. The product looks good and I'm hoping York/Kelch pull this shit off. Pick up Henry, Shamil and get Rick Ibaseta back on a skateboard and you've got something.

Kids love York. When I first moved to SF and skated the Pier, York was always super cool with all the kids that came through, cheered you on when you were trying shit and acted like he was just another dude out there skating and having fun. On the other side of the spectrum, I've seen other "pros" who'd roll up to some spots or parks and just come off like their the superstars and everyone should be in awe over their skateboarding abilities.

i was bummed he wasnt there too, but you had chico, rick, kenny, mark, daniel, gino, and some kid named eldridge or something. and the kids were like " yo, where's mike??"
i thought is was cool. i was just a little surprised the kids took the time out from being star struck and realized that york wasnt there. we try to raise them well out here. i guess sometimes it works.

my friend was skating the blocks at USC one time and mike york was there trying to film a trick and he put his turf sweater done and i guess someone stole it and when he realized it was stolen he was accusing my friend and his homies and he was saying "this shits exclusive ... you don't have to steal it just cause you cant afford it" ..but he apologized to my friend on myspace a few days later

Their designer is better than me and has more experience. I just wing it. When I made the first tees that was
like the first time I did anything in vector and complex, which isn't really complex compared to more experienced
dudes. I was supposed to ride for the turf but they got another pro so I don't think they could pay me. There are way
more deserving dudes out there anyways that skate everyday and are up to par.

I think Larry Perkins has been holding it down for a while. He should be getting a guest board as well. I aint tripping on shit skate related. Just happy for York and know that he brings a lot of flavor to the table and in hindsight getting cut loose by Chocolate is a good thing for him now.
