Title: best deliberately unused clips
Post by: Arto!Arto!WakeUp! on September 27, 2022, 04:33:12 AM
what's the best clip you've come across that a skater chose not to put out?

i've just seen apple's big flip down the macba 4 block that he filmed for flip but didn't use - which is pretty wild.

possible unpopular opinion but 'baker makers didnt cut it back then.'  :o

i mean i'm sure that's why he didn't use it, but you're literally referring to the era in which baker makers became a thing.

That doesn’t even register as a baker maker to me.

in the deathwish video jim greco 50-50s a bridge and ollies into a bank but they don't continue the shot from the bridge angle. the bridge angle makes it looks like he's jumping a few stories but from the side its very clear that its going into a bank. i get the editorial reasoning to cut to the clearer shot but for storytelling purposes it would've been sicker if they kept going from the bridge side especially with that song.

Could’ve sworn that bigflip was an ad. A Globe ad maybe? Strange how it wasn’t used.

There’s tons of clips on insta that weren’t used. Like KB’s hardflip that he posted recently. Pretty beast

How about Ty deliberately not using Justin Eldridge's entire part in Pretty Sweet

there's also a handful of tricks used in the Bohemian Rhapsody edit of his Baker 3 part that didn't appear in the Johnny Thunders part.

Christ who thought using this music, even as a joke, was a good idea?

I thought I remembered hearing/reading that Ty didn't use most of the older girl/chocolate rider's footage for Pretty Sweet and instead, made a lot of shared parts. If true, that's probably the most egregious example imo.

One thing that never made sense to me is why they used Rick Howard’s nollie backside flip fakie manual attempt on the small world park manual pad in the credits of the “new world order” video. Its basically a clip of a nollie backside flip on to the little manual pad with all 4 wheels firmly planted on the pad and then a fakie manual on the last foot and a half of the manual pad.
