Nyjah is insane but this is so obviously B roll for him he should have just sat on this.
-
multiple layers of wood over the cobblestone is a little too much, just find another spot
-
Meh.
Cant stand his style after watching Louies Cons part.
The second time he uses wood for the runup is really unneccesary or just dont skate that spot. See Chris Pfanners latest part on how you deal with that shitty german ground.
-
I could see Nyjah get into pro snowboarding like a reverse Shawn White
-
so anyone using something to make a spot skateable should just move on to another spot? yall keeping this same energy for spots with a heavy application of bondo or is it just cause its the Jah.
-
more of a part than tyshawns last part, wood was gross
Louie all day though
-
What previous SOTYs have as doodoo style as this guy?
-
fraudulent

The issue is that looked like cabinet grade plywood. So bougie. Real Heshdogs won’t use anything nicer than BCX.
-
Dude, he deserves the trophy. Let the man have it.
-
lol so did they basically realize the Monster full-length wasn't gonna drop in time for SOTY consideration so they rushed out Nyjah's part early?
his fits look awful in Southern California obviously but seeing him skate European spots wearing his standard attire looks so fucking bad. completely incongruous aesthetically

Yeah, who cares about that kickflip front board on that big ass rail. Or that K-grind down that big double kink. Or that big ass grind down a 20+ flat 20+ stair rail.

Still manages to make all that look boring tbh

Imagine his fits, tanktops and running shorts while snowboarding

leggings with snowboard-boots are going to look pretty damn weird.

He’s gonna end up almost killing himself trying to get SOTY if he doesn’t get it this year. This part was obvi a strategy to push for it even more. Kinda fucked that like 40 stair rail was throwaway
-
please make it stop
-
lol this fucking guy.
throw away footage that includes a triple kinked k grind and a 50ft handrail.
still can't really see thrasher giving him the nod when they have 3 much cooler people gunning for it, but he definitely did a good job of reminding me that he's fucked-up good.
-
You know anyone else would've cross locked that snowboard rail.

if you want to give him a pass as a ramp skater, sure, but mid-career danny way's street skating looked absolute dog shit.

What was that song? That goofy guitar solo was terrible and did not fit the rest of the music at all.
-
Nyjah on dangly earrings?
never thought I'd see a Nyjah part to some Zach Hill
-
kyle walker ass part
-
Bro managed to californify Europe for an energy drink video
-
Don’t know why this would come out after the 12 minutes of insane skateboarding but ok.
-
I back the Brother Merle runups, and it's not clear to my why anyone would expect Jah to sacrifice clips for tastefulness. The man is skating 100 ft rails with a monster hat and lululemons - let him build.
-

He wants his footage to be the last we see among the contenders (Tyshawn, Louie, etc.) before SOTY is picked.
-

Tyshawn LOL
-

Because the sponsors who pay alot of money have an interest in one of their riders winning.
I don't know how people are hating when all this was filmed in a week or so.

This is Chris Cole erasure. Dude went wild back in the day but we can’t pretend like it was easy on the eyes
-
Speaking of Cole, props to him for doing a line on those German stairs like 15 years ago (fakie flip then sw front heel) that not only still holds up, but may be the best still if it weren’t for Hyuns psycho line with the kf in the middle.
-
Sorry, but there's nothing inspiring about your skating Nyjah.

Tyshawn has that Tosh Townend thing going on where his style was way better as a kid, and now that he's an adult he looks like shit on the board (still an amazing skater, but his style is brutal)

"Coming soon" at the end had me thinking this was a teaser for another part, but it seems like that's in reference to the rest of the video.
That's a massive final rail. I counted around 23 stairs on the 2nd set and the first set looks similar in size, maybe a couple stairs less. So a nearly 50 stair kinked handrail.
In big wave surfing the 100 ft wave at Nazare was a thing people chased for a long time. Who will be the first to grind a 100 stair rail, or has it already been done?
Not to derail the thread, but here's Steve Nesser hitting 44 (https://www.thrashermagazine.com/articles/magazine/november-2007/) back in November 2007. Stair count source (https://shop.thrashermagazine.com/magazines/back-issues/november-2007-issue.html).
-
I sacked myself so hard on that Berlin kinked rail once I split my nuts open. Hadn't seen that spot in years I thought it was gone. PTSD inducing

I’ll give Nyjah props for the fakie bluntslides he’s been doing - the few variations I’ve seen have all looked good.
For the smoothness of the front shove out of that feeble. It’s not a trick that has ever needed to be done or seen, and I know he’s not the first, but he did it well.
And for including a few clips of low impact tricks and lines which he didn’t look the most comfortable doing. (Front blunt the tall flatbar) Maybe there’s a good quality low-impact version of Nyjah to appreciate in the future.

Idk this doesn’t seem like it’s gonna change the SOTY outcome at all. Tricks were fine I guess, but this felt more like a tour footage dump and wasn’t a well formulated “part”

Going to Miami Heat games over the years and looking at the rails here I always thought of someone skating these but didn’t think it was possible to grind the whole thing or the biggest rail there.

I feel like both Nyjah and Tyshawn should have released their short throwaway parts before the actual SOTY push part, not the other way round. Takes away the momentum.

It says in the video blurb that this is all footage from a single trip, which is fucking bananas not matter how you slice them.
As to massive handrails a lot of the biggest ones that have been done haven't even been down stairs so it gets hard to compare. Remember seeing one from Herman Stene last year or so which they had to film from two angles because they couldn't fit it into a single shot. The only thing that's limiting people now seems to be how steep it is.
-
Mannnn had to log in for the one time to say holy shit this dude used an ily's song? Crazy. Fitting though as it's like a light hearted softcore Death Grips and the ethos of Disorder. Zach Hill is a real one though, should've used some Undo K From Hot if they were gonna go the Zach Hill adjacent route. What a timeline regardless. I must say that chaos board legitimately looks kinda sick though.

The half cab blunt flip (maybe it was nollie etc) out on the ledge was such a nice little surprise to see in the Nike part that it was a little bit of a bummer to see him use it here and realize it’s just the tech trick in his arsenal. (I don’t ever watch contests so I don’t know if he’s busting out that trick a lot there)

yeah, it’s a huge bummer when someone does the same trick twice within 20 minutes of footage they put out in 1 year. i already know it’s going to be some protest about how he does the same big handrail tricks multiple times throughout said footage & how the comment was directed towards his lack of technical ledge tricks.. all while everyone jacks nik stain off for every noseslide or manual he does or over everyone else on the list’s repetitious tricks. come on already. look at how many “tech tricks” he did down big handrails. give this dude some credit already. get nik stain to kickflip back noseblunt a flat ledge or fs half cab bs five 0 rewind one, or any of the tech tricks nyjah did down 10 stair + rails.
