Am I wrong in counting seven grabs? Are there more?
I think I've done about 4 of them.
Has anyone grabbed every way?
-
I have two hands and my board has 4 sides, so there's gotta be at least 8 grabs.
But probably more like 20
-
I did a bunch in vert days... but in the past 25 years probably only melon grabs
-
including feet off and tweaks there's gotta be like 30. and idk if you'd categorize them as specific tricks rather than grabs themselves you've got the direction-specific ones like lien air
-
Nose, tail, indy, FS tucknee and stinkbug, mute, stale, roast beef, cannonball, seatbelt, crail, sad/ melon, lein, slob, gorilla

madonna, judo, airwalk, dog piss, texas? unless texas doesn't count because it's a plant
-
obviously some of these are the same grab sort of but different tricks contextually...
melon, lien, method, nose, crail, madonna, frigid air, rocket air, mute, slob, japan, indy, tuck knee, stiffy, tail, seatbealt, stalefish, benihana, grossman, roastbeef, cannonball, dogpiss but i guess you could take a foot off almost all of them.
one thing i've never seen is like the opposite of those grossman/roastbeef type grabs, where say you were almost grabbing melon but then you stuck your front hand through your legs from the back and grabbed mute, or went to grab stalefish but went through your legs and grabbed indy. or i guess the crail and seatbelt concepts done behind the body instead of in front. would be undoubtedly ghastly but that's about all i can think of in terms other options.

We did them in snowboarding in the 80’s.
They’re called ‘Canadian Bacon’ and ‘Taipan’ grabs, I think
-
I'd like to see cannonballs make a comeback. Like a big frontside cannonball in a vert ramp or big bowl actually looks super sick
-
At least six. Maybe twelve.
-
i got the meanest street grab this side of quim cardona

If a sal flip counts then that's probably the only grab trick I've done in recent years. Was stoked on trying to learn as many as possible as a kid, but now they're of no interest to me.
-
I only do roast beefs and seat belt grabs.
-
my body can only stinkbug
-
NBD: frontside stale fish method combo.
Someone must’ve done a backside indy mute combo though.
-
Now how about a cross armed indy mute combo.?
-
no not ever. and you should too.
-
Stale fish/method combo is now called the handcuffed.
-
We used to do Stalefish melons & Stale Methods & off jump ramps, kinda gross but kinda sick.
-
You can grab each area of your board, with either hand, noseboned tailboned stiffy Japan crossbone tweaked, then take off either or both foot often to either side then all that with every double grab combo. It's probably like 480 or something
Self props but I I've never seen anyone else do a crailfish (stalefish but you grab the nose).
However many grabs there are can it be near the possible amount of inverts? can't double graban invert (or maybe people can) but it's like how many ways can you rotate a gyroscope

I’ve done a couple. Can only tail grab from flat but boy do I got a mean (shameless) fly out roast beef
-
I've done a ton in the jump ramp era. That's when I first realized I was a real skater.
Melanchollie was on the menu at first day at the Green Street hockey court diy some time in the late 80s.
I never got a stale fish. I tried very hard for a long long time. I feel like I trained myself against them or whatever because my fs ollie's was boss AF. I definitely feel like I can say that.
Fakie Melon was my stale fish. Someone did one in 411 off a kicker and I was like bing! That's me. Grabbing your board was already passe at that point but I cared not.
I definitely think Texas Plant is a grab more than a plant because you got two hands on it and it feels like an air.
I've never gone bio. If you ever see me irl. I want you to teach me backside airs plz. I'll teach you impossibles and like fakie pressure flips rewind or something.

I saw Alex Lekinho blasting out melons where he reached under his board and grabbed front edge instead, dunno if that trick even have a name.
-
I did stinkbugs and popshove tailgrabs when I was a wee lad. Now I just do fs crailslides, bs crailtaps (gotta learn to slide bs tails on transition soon) and lien to tails. I would love to be able to do tweaked-out melons on over a hip or pyramid or something though. At this point in my life, it feels like I'll never be able to learn airs but I don't want to accept defeat just yet. Maybe I can boost a fs boneless above the coping or some nasty fs poopoo air. I bet they still feel amazing even if it looks like total dogshit.
-
I used to do good melon grabs as kid ;D

I did street grabs on flat and small stairs. My go to grabs were indy (of course), nose grab (offfff course) and a weird one, stalefish on flat. My ex-gf record one of those on a point and shoot camera (year 2004) and then showed me the video. It was the first time I watched myself skating and the stalefish on flat was huge. I knew I had high ollies but not that high. I always tried to learn melon on flat but my left hand (I'm regular) never reached the board lol. It just goes up automatically when doing ollie.
-
there's a lot of them counting all the one foot and no foot grabs. double grabs like rockets or cannonballs...
i did nosegrabs, crails, indys, melons, roastbeefs, mutes, airwalks, tailgrabs but only with a pop shuvit into. couple kickflip indys too.

Do mall grabs count?

Do mall grabs count?
Mall grab as a vert air, or down a stair set would be dope

Oooh that’s siiiick. How about doing a Benihana but instead of grabbing the tail you mall grab the back truck? Baller move
-
I learned all the cool grabs playing THPS3. Didn't really attempt many in real life, would throw out the occasional pop shuv tailgrab or dog piss as a kid. Randomly tried a melon grab off a ramp over the cone at the park that turned out way better then I expected. It was... Fun.
