I think Ben K. Prob ended this trend with the definitive flip into water on ‘Play Dead’. I’m looking forward to seeing a new b-roll trend…between Blondey in Palasonic and that kid in the GX1000 video last year…I for one would like to see more b roll interactions with cars: ie- skaters getting run over when not even doing tricks; skaters vandalizing the cars creatively; the theft of cars with perhaps chases involving guns by the owners; boards being snapped by the cars; cars in the bowl…etc

it's rad if it's a big drop or cool gainer or something. so long as you're not 'one downing' someone x doing a pencil off a 10 foot drop.

If you mean where they jump off a rock face, then yeah kinda. If you mean jump off bridges, I like those but only where they film from water-level.
If you mean incorporating them into skate tricks, I’m generally positive on it. The one Alex willms did in his sk8 mafia part was cool.

Deedz elevated the game, he took it from b roll to prime time. Anyone else is just a poser at this point.

I used to like it but it is definitely overdone. At this point, it's gotta be gnar like a bridge jump or they gotta do a real nice Olympic style dive.

i originally thought this was about “artsy” film shots of people jumping into water, not the rollaway jumps in. can op confirm? for the rollaways, depends on the spot & person. when blake did it in the dekline video i thought it was funny because you could tell it wasn’t planned. a lot of the others don’t really do it for me & seem gimmicky. as for it being a film shot for filler, i do get really tired of seeing people jump off cliffs into water now sped up in black in white on film. that goes for just about everything though now, reynolds driving the car in this is skateboarding sped up was the coolest thing ever to me at that time, now if someone does it i just would find it corny or unoriginal. then again i’m also old and jaded & don’t identify with most of the current “new guys” in skateboarding.
