so bummed I missed this, but I'm stoked to see skateboarding incorporated. i've been wanting to go since I learned about it a few years ago, and where they hold it is only 3 - 4 hours away from me. tom schaar continues to be one of my favorite skaters. dalton dern is fucked in the head.

it's so sick how people are dropping in knowing they're about to get broke the fuck off and land in bacteria infested water. you've gotta be pretty fucked up to try that slip and slide loop... broken neck waiting to happen.

i'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for swampfest next year.

Gonna have to show my better half this when I get home.

We were talking about going on a road trip when our little boy is old enough to stay with grandma for a few days, and we settled on making it out to Swampfest.

It's sick that this event is becoming so legit, it's like a Dirtbag Disneyland.

Super happy to Ben out and about. I hope he's well enough to put out another full part soon, that is if he even cares to. Also, watching Chris Russel getting broke off on a BMX was funny as shit.

Damn, edits like this always remind me how broad the spectrum of being a skater actually is. I feel like I have absolutely nothing in common with anyone in that video. Very entertaining watch, but I'd be hard-pressed to think of anything worse to participate in.

IIRC I heard something about a head or neck/back injury, but I was referring to an interval of time where he wasn’t really skating and was just sort of partying and piling out, which happens to all of us from time to time. I might be conflating different stories about different people here, but I think he wanted a change of scenery and moved from Oregon back to Texas, worked like a 1920’s guy, skated with his homies around his old haunts and got back into it. Anyway, I’m happy to see him skating and having fun.
