How has Slap impacted your life? In ways big or small.
I, for instance, only heat the stove to 7.5 now, ever since the Mikey Alfred thread. Read going higher can overheat coating in the pan, which can be harmful. Not even sure that’s really a thing but I do it now.

frequent use of "Of" instead of "Off"
Saw someone say they need to focus their account on different platform
Was wondering if slap was spilling over

slap keeps me tapped into skateboarding, which is the thing I love the most. as I've gotten older and can't physically skate as much as I've used to, it leads to me talking to my friends about skateboarding less (because I'm not skateboarding with them.) I'm still able to nerd out on the thing I've done my whole life.

Bingo. And shop employees have their limits

I’m more concise in my communications at work. The old mantra less is more. Stick to one subject at a time. Consider opinions far different than my own.

It keeps me tapped into a world much larger than my neighborhood.
-
Add another tally for the “of” instead of “off”.
Inspired me to learn a new language (Striggoli).
More recently, I stopped responding to skate for fun skaters.
-
oh, I used to get into social commentary/ political discussions on here, and I quickly realized that's not what I'm here to do. my experience on the board is way more peaceful not engaging in discourse that isn't going to change anyone's mind or opinion anyway.
-
made me much more critical than your average skater about skating. so often i say "i know everyone hates this skater but..." and people reply "who hates them?"

Copped Lurpivs and Quantums. ;D

Sent me down the gear madness rabbit hole for the better part of 4 years, lockdown during COVID didn't help the madness.
A peek behind the curtain of the industry outside Insta, mags and videos, especially on the business end which is the most fascinating part to me.

Now I’m surprised when I see narrow leg pants on the street.
-
ended up with gear madness a while ago, but its dormant and sometimes i relapse for a bit but its mostly wheels and it happens whenever i get some free wheels or some handmedowns from a homie who likes to try a bunch of different shit (motherfucker can skate one day with those double shoe DC°s then the next day with some old original winos found on ebay and skate exaclty the same, how the fuck does people do that ?)
also wheelbase but ive been riding the same exact shape for like 4 boards now so basically gone for now

I got a bidet long ago because non-American pals made mention of the benefits.
It was immensely beneficial during the pandemic when everyone was struggling to find toilet paper. My household didn’t sweat it nearly as much as others.
A TMI word of warning though, don’t go crazy blasting the doodoo off your butthole like you’re pressure washing it on a high setting. You’re bound to give yourself hemorrhoids.
On the plus side, I started doing kegel exercises which remedied the situation and found out I should have been doing these all along.

Yeah. I’ve been tempted by Asics lately but my stockpile of # is too significant to allow it.

That’s actually good to know about the bidet. I’ve been putting on the most powerful setting since I’ve gotten so I guess I should stop that. Feels good though.

Agreed on all fronts.
One of the first convos I had on here was with Bubblegum Tate ❤️ in the nb# containment thread thanking him for his recommendations on the 440’s the first time I tried them out

Kook this, kook that, this person over there is kookin it

I always say, "I heard ____" any time referencing information from slap.

I was hesitant to stray away from 99 and the old 97 du Spitfire formulas. After people kept talking about how they like the 93s, I bought a set and now have them on a larger backup board for crusty spots. My knees don’t ache as much and it’s a smoother ride while pushing.

I tried Quantums because one of the guys made a thread, and was quick to send replacements or lubricant to people with problems. I cant remember if they’re Atoms or Isotopes, but they’re good and still going on a Zip Zinger. I like my Bones Swiss 6 too much to change my main setup.
Also, I bought a Switch 2 when I was drunk because someone made a thread about it.

Venture trucks. Soft wheels that slide. Back rocking chucks. And I stopped using the F bomb. Not even to describe myself

I genuinely appreciate the second opinions on if a ledge combo is wack or not. Also keeping up with trendy tricks and getting new ideas

Not buying Indy’s ever again

My dogs now ask for ‘a lickle bit’ when the wife has delicious food.
