Does anyone actually care about / respect this dude outside of the Baker and Thrasher camps? With the new Baker drop featuring him heavily I am genuinely curious if anyone really cares or wants neckface branded gear?
-
I like Neckface
Add a pole!
-
neck face does not get props from me but he somehow sprayed his way to high speed's payroll and prolly has more money + fun than i do and im just posting on slap about him. so i guess im kind of the loser here
-
Dude seems like he is just the worst.
-
He a scrub.
-
i dig his illustrations/style but he sucks and i know enough about him that i'd never rock his shit

I always thought it was funny how hard he tried to hide his identity and then he just kinda gave up on anonymity

I don't think there is much care outside the Thrasher or Baker camps.
Interested to see what more people in this thread might say on it.

No one cares and it’s a pity we have have to deal with him
-
I once saw a neck face tag on a curb in a random canyon and then it was gone and I’ve always wanted to run into him to ask if that was real and why and how the hell he picked that spot to tag
-
Tells you how much Chad Fernandez must suck if that’s where they drew the line on dopes they can’t fuck with
-
He’s not the best bloke, he’s not the worst. He’s an artist, with fame and notoriety, but probably on minimum wage. Let the man live.
-
No opinion on this dude but probably wouldn't hang with him.
The only thing I really don't get, is his hairline.
-
He reminds me of that hyperactive kid at school who was into dirt bikes at an alarmingly young age. The ones that couldn’t sit still and even as a kid you were like “fuck would you just shut the fuck up for 45 minutes”
-
He a scrub.

Imagine finding out Neckface fucked your girl?
-
I’m by no means saying he is a good dude or that I know him personally, but he does have cred in the graff world.
If you are in NYC and you look you will find a tag or throw of his quickly. He’s still up, he’s got a fill on a gate by my house that’s like 20 years old. He painted with respected guys, ACNE(RIP), EM1, etc.
I assume that’s why he was trying to be anon in the beginning whenever he was on camera. His adjacency to Baker was how he got into thrasher obviously. Regardless, he has been painting for a long time and continues to do he has paid dues.
-
Yeah nobody cares about him 323K FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM
-
His kicky back board on that ledge in BGAD2 made me think about Chomp on this.
-
I did think it was cool when he was anonymous. Other than that: I’ve always been meh on his art, but it’s just not my style.
I don’t him as just a dude in skateboarding
-
Imagine finding out Neckface fucked your girl?
This would weird me out for several reasons.
-
His shit is pretty funny Im glad we have him in our skateboard world

My lady has heard Shane on one or two podcasts I’ve listened to and each time she asks why he does he talk like that
-
do people in the "graffiti" community think hes wack?
-
do people in the "graffiti" community think hes wack?
Yea.
-
A good friend of mine was his instructor at SVA in New York and he absolutely hates the dude.
-
I was legitimately surprised he could actually do tricks in BHADW2.
I’ve always thought of him as some kind of toadie that did “art” that most hardcore bands use for their first demo.
-
Can’t help but like a lot of stuff I’ve seen from this guy :o
-
I just appreciate that Neckface is one step away from being Neckbeard.

What’s SVA?
-
Saw him once at at a demo at my local park back in 2010 & if didn’t know it was him, you’d have thought he was a local derelict working their way to the casino.
Never cared for him, looks like a troll in toddler form. Just can’t sit still & has to touch everything. Never liked his art either.
-
He did graffiti his way, not conforming to all of the unspoken rules and trends, like him or hate him he's done pretty well for himself doing things his way.
-
Seems in bounds with what an artist that rolls with Baker might be like.
-

I don’t like him or hate him but he gives the impression of someone who will have roommates well into his 50s
-
I liked him a lot more when he was an anonymous hooligan drawing his crazy shit everywhere, but he seems like he’s just being himself with no regard to whether anyone likes him or not. I can respect that.
-
that necklace begins piece has my undying respect. saw that shit when i was like 12 years old and it’s always been one of the best tags ever in my mind

I got the exact same vibe from his excerpts in Nuge's recent EL. The way PO has the last line of the video being neckface talk about how not humble Nudge is seems like some world class editing to me.
-
What if he announced on instagram that he’s leaving Baker, “looking forward to the next chapter”.
-
Personally I like how extremely unlikeable the guy is. Modern skateboarding is "nice" enough as it is.

The guy who lit Spanky on fire?
-
Not a fan. Bummed to say I have the “oh you skate? Who cares” graphic tattooed on my body….
-
Feels like the kind of guy who you’d have to rescue your female friends from in party (not from sketchiness, but like weird intense vibes)
-
I don't normally like to slag people off when I don't know enough about 'em to warrant it, but fuck it, this is SLAP. He seems like a proper bad little meff in everything I've seen and heard him in.

I would spend the entire time trying to convince Shane to speak like a normal person. If he refused I'd ask Neckface to light him on fire and be done with it already.

When they came here he kinda sucked, is a vandal for the sake of being a vandal. A certain pro on from Florida that was on the tour was really annoyed with his shoplifting, he gets off on shoplifting from everywhere he goes, he doesn't have the corporate rule or anything, shoplifts from everywhere, probably throws it in the trash 10 minutes later.
Although I will say I really liked his pilot or whatever that was he shot for his tv show with all the weird puppetry and everything.
Also lastly I've said it here 20 times but Shayne Heyl is the nicest dude in that crew, whatever yall see on video is a character that he turns on when the camera is out.
-
all i can really say is i am also a fellow mountain dew riptide rush and king diamond enjoyer

I guy I work with is like this and its really annoying. He brags about stealing from Walmart and he's a 42 year old man. I'm not shedding any tears for Walmart but its annoying how excited he gets over "free shit." He fetishizes getting stuff for free, or getting one over on people. Its very bizarre and quite frankly very annoying behavior. He's the type of guy who, if he asked for change and you accidentally gave him an extra bill, would keep the bill because "its up to you to make sure your money is correct" or something instead of giving it back to you. It's really generally slimy behavior and he genuinely doesn't understand why other people aren't the same way.
-
Nah fuck him me and few cat's in NYC when he would be around the city we'd heckle him and kick him out of where we were. dude might have street cred for graffiti but aside from that it just seems like a leech that knew a few friends and here he is.
Just goes to show how selective and insular how skateboarding scene is, oh look at this guy who's hard working does all his filming and editing videos who has skills, butttttt no this goober with a weird hairline who bites Gonz's artwork or worse a rapper who can barely Ollie we'll take him instead?!

Idk if you ever watched 90 day fiance but this dude actually put mayo in his hair to help condition his shitty dye job
-
I would be down to kick it with Neck. If he were in my group of friends, he'd be the entertainment guy. The dude who does shit most of us would never, but would really like to see happen.
Fuck, maybe he could ever come over for a hard kombucha afterwards. Do you think his aroma would linger in a room after he leaves the room? If so, maybe we'd have to have the hard kombuchas outside in the parking lot.
-
do people in the graffiti world think hes tight?
-

I bet he smells like slight BO mixed with cigarettes. Like a sausage in an ashtray
-
He kinda got old after the Shake Junt video, just the same shitty clips and art work nowadays.
-
Of the dudes that are involved with an L.A.-based skateboard company and have managed to sell their dogshit kindergarten drawings to the public, he's not the worst.
-
I'm sure hes a good guy and nice to have around as a friend, and friendship is great. But as a pubic figure, fucked if I know why anyone backs him.
-
I didn't like his work at first. It grew on me. We got mutuals who say he's one of us so I vote him up.
Dude talks about king diamond. That was me and my homie Jata's 80s/90s guilty pleasure band. We had no one around us listen to it. Was weird.
Around here it was a wrap for most real metal by 92.
But yeah almost anyone who backs merciful fate or king diamond is almost always ok with me.
Obviously there's things people do that would trump a musical taste card but it's a start.
Mutual friends go far too. He's pretty much clergy at this point
-
But as a pubic figure, fucked if I know why anyone backs him.
I've never really viewed him as a pubic figure, but I gave it a go and I back him even less now.
-
I honestly don't care for the dude. But to be fair I really tried to like him at first. The "people I've known" article in Thrasher really put me off of him. I still can't tell if was being sarcastic in it or not but whatever.
The final straw for me was the comment he made to Ellis in the Hawk V. Wolf podcast. I feel like his stories and shit only appeal to high school kids. With that being said I'm sure if I was 16 again I'd probably think he was the coolest dude ever
-
i always liked him. his story about finding king diamond's music and comparing it to riptide rush gatorade always stuck with me. riptide rush is an extremely underrated gatorade flavor that doesn't get its proper dues
-
I always thought it was funny how hard he tried to hide his identity and then he just kinda gave up on anonymity
Wish he would have kept hiding it

Lmao and said he smelled like an egg salad.
-
He is the personification of a beer fart.
-
I liked his baker has a deathwish part 2 part. I thought it was pretty sick.
-
I think you almost need to separate his story into two parts, one the (mid?) 2000’s anonymous graffiti artist tagging shit, creating outrageous artwork in a completely unique style- the period when they’d put graphics over his face in blog posts, etc- and then the current version of Neck who’s leaned into the ‘brand’ he’d created and is now the public facing, shirts & Nike-dunk-creating character we know him as. May be the same dude the entire time, but seems like perhaps there was a conscious choice along the way.
-
Art has always been dreadful & his stunted development is evident upon him not being able to escape the first realization that sex exists, not to mention he’s in a constant state of regression regarding drawing shit coming out of his characters. Seen him at demos & he strikes me as the guy going around & seeing whose car doors are open.
-

-
He is a skater, some kind of artist and a scumbag,
he is one of us.
Definitely not standing out riding the board, at least his own style drawing. Know plenty of guys like him - as soon as the drunk a beer - they piss you off big time.
So annoying- you need to leave the room.
I don’t want to hang, skate or paint with him, but he is not the worst.
-
Neck cool in my book. Some u is saltine cracker in Jim grecco mouth.
-
I didn't know about his public persona until recently but he was getting up around the world over a decade and a half ago. I respect the hustle for sure.
-
I respect that he was courted by the “bonafide” art market and blew it off. Then again, I don’t remember where I read about that and it could have been directly from him, so take it with a grain of salt. He seems pretty annoying and unable to “turn it off”. Glad to have people like him in the world, but not the same room as me.

Nothing crazy. He mostly talks about building skateable sculptures and the possibilities of skateparks that don’t actually look like boring old skateparks. That dosnt bother me and sounds like a good idea.

I think he should experminet more in art and evolve he's kinda doomed to do the same shit for life but I restect the fact that he made it and makes a living out of art which is pretty hard.
