Strobeck wasted Rooster by Alice In Chains
Nike Nothing but the Truth used Shook Ones by Mobb Deep in a shared part, that’s a last part worthy song
Hot Chocolate tour used The Rat by The Walkman in a montage, that could be a great first part song to a video
These are just my opinions, you can disagree. I just don’t count those songs as actually being used it’s still fair game
-
Ben K- Mayo Dream
Anything Beatrice skates to
Rooster- yeah- but that kind of song would need a heavy legend like ave or the boss to realllllly he utilized perfectly.
-
tom penny only using a minute of david bowie's "heroes"
fight me
-
Ben K- Mayo Dream
damn cant believe people didnt like that part
-
Zach Allen using 4th Chamber for this bullshit Baker Ams parts put him on my personal blacklist. Using one of the best Wu-Tang tracks of all time for his body varials, open mouth steeze, hot pink Shake Junt Grip, shitty push, stupid fits, etc.
Not nearly as offensive, but I didn’t really like Duel of the Iron Mic being used for that montage in She’s Cheating. IMO classic Wu-Tang should be reserved for legends or top-tier parts.

Placebo - Every me every you
too good a song to be bouncing into kflip front crook
-
Marvin Gaye’s Day By Day wasted on Aaron Artis.

Teenage riot for p rod’s nbtt part
Crumble for Mikey Taylor’s mindfield part
These are more “didn’t fit” picks but still, two epic songs in my opinion

Yeah, Crumble is the best track on that album, and they shit all over it putting it to Mikey Taylor.

I get your point on Teenage Riot, who would be a better fit to that song?

Hard agree, especially on The Rat. The Walkmen are imo somewhat slept on. They have such a banging discography and to my knowledge only like, 2 or 3 songs of theirs have been used.

Greg or whoever decided on the tune for sure chose a Dinosaur Jr. track for cred for damn sure.

100% on both of these. Teenage Riot had already used in Transworld Transmission 7 for the Florida section.

Crumble is such a classic song, it really bummed me out to see it wasted on Mikey fucking Taylor.
-
Pj ladd in really sorry
-
I had put MBV's "drive it all over me" on every mix CD i ever made for a girl in high school, and for nigh a decade i always thought it would be the perfect song to skate to, for a certain kind of part.
So i was bummed when it came on during Sean Pablo's section of Purple. Not that I even dislike SP, but reality fell well below my imagination

All along the watch tower for lutzka
Cannonball in that Nike sb girl vid
Hard agree on SP
Malibu by hole in a digital montage
Agree on heros
Blue Monday on Jani Latalia
Purple haze for Alfaro

Pretty much anything in a digital video...

I’d be good if I never had to hear Alice In Chains ever again, drunkle vibes

I hate that Cowboy Dan was used for Clint Walker and I hate that 1010 got Devo.
-
Songs: Ohia's "John Henry Split My Heart" over sped up Berra.

Fuck, I really don't know nowadays. Off the top of my head, I can only see Dylan's footage fitting with it

Cowboy Dan is a masterpiece.

he’s skated to Devo a lot, I think

Working Man by Rush, used in Chris Joslin's part, was edited horribly. Needed way more fast paced editing.

Madam, I'm Adam those are both really good examples. I can easily picture Tom K and Jordan Taylor having a shared part edited to Teenage Riot.
Dalton Dern used up Patience by GnR for a poorly edited slo-mo bail/slam part in Painkiller. He’s gnarly and I like his skating ok- but that was not it.

Why is Dave Coyne the first person I think of

Eric B. And Rakim - Juice Know the Ledge in the DC video was wasted on Rob Dyrdek

Sage advice from an old thread:
Just close your eyes and listen to some Jason Molina

Alfaro and purple haze was my first thought. Regarding digital I thought specks skating to Hey Ya was actually pretty dope, just a fun little kid part

It's still fuck Ricky but that song was long since already used perfectly for his part in Static II and there was no reason for it to go to anyone else, let alone Joslin, in the first place.

The truth. Same could be said for Billdo/Supreme wasting "Glaciers of Ice" on a montage in Cherry.
You should have to apply to use any first and second wave Wu material, have the footage reviewed and a petition signed for consensus amongst your peers, then finally have RZA and Ghostface sign-off on a certificate. Then, and only then, would a skater be worthy of using Wu-Tang for their part.
Also, Pontus wasted my favorite song ("Tenth Planet") from my all-time favorite album (Solid Space "Space Museum") on a I like it here inside my mind... montage and edited it down to a pitiful trifle.

Honestly, it’s upsetting how good it worked for him. Perfect fit. Same with Gallant and Triumph, honestly.

Fade to Black for Nyjah's part (just a really odd combo)
One by Metallica for Nik Stain's part in Play Dead (again does not fit)

Ricky Oyola in Static II also used this. I found it a better fit. @28:08

I agree, it was off. The song had also been used already by Jason Maxwell in a Prime video.
Then in his next part, Koston skated to Public Enemy which also kinda felt off.

Koston strikes me as someone who doesn’t listen to music.

I honestly loved his part to Bowie. Maybe I’m wrong but it thought it was a good fit.

Garrett Hill in New Blood. The Only Ones - Another Girl Another Planet. No disrespect but that’s one of my all time favorite songs so the bar was too high

Yup, that one sucked. I was a big fan of Koston around that time but hated that part because of the music choice.

Garrett Hills part turned me on to that song. Fun song to play on guitar

I have a huge soft spot for Tom Petty's Learning to Fly, in a 'songs of my childhood' kinda way, and using it for Atiba's section in Boys of Summer 2 was an unforgivable lapse of judgement.

For the time and moment it was pretty much the perfect use.
-
Lindsey Robertson's part in dying to live
Hard disagree. That may just be the second best usage ever right behind Heath and Morrissey
-

Agreed but does that really count as usage? If not then absolutely wild this is still open. Prime Heath to that would've been amazing. John Dickson's last part ever could be great for that? Reynolds too.

Gonna get roasted for this but as much as I like Stu Kirst, Mandy is one of those that should maybe not ever be used or for a career-topping ender part with jawdroppers galore. I feel the same about GT and still the same. Great part but not great enough.

Ditto. And Koston skating to GG Allin in Chomp On This. (Although I like the costume.)
But Koston skating to Eric B and Rakim in Next Generation was FIRE!

Both worked for me pretty well. That GT part was great. And Mandy is memorable, but I dunno if it'd work to a legendary part.

Who Da Neighbors by Juicy J its a damn shame they used it for neckface. The other dude was alright though
