Hour of footage
-
I know karma isn't real because there's no way I deserve an hour of raw Louie footage.
-
I usually get bored after about 10 minutes of footage. This should take a week to watch...
-
So flipping good. So good. Goodness.
-
This is a great watch so far. Lot of stuff that wasn't in his part
-
Jesus one of the best to ever do it

Watched the entire thing. Completely worth the hour it took.

“I usually get bored” “try having a life” which is it? You’re too in demand throughout your day to sit down and watch or your brain can’t handle more than 30 second increments of entertainment without needing to scroll for the next tickle?

You need to stop managing time and start CREATING time.
-
I'm only a half hour in and I already know it's not long enough.
(See if you can multitask if it's a problem)
What a creative mind Louie has. If I read a description of some of his tricks without seeing them, I might wonder if they'd look circus or dog, but they all look so perfect.
And I love how he Kubricks so many of his makes. So many looked beyond fine, and he's like One more. Great skateboarding.

*gets towed in by pick-up then does a perfect frontside flip on a crusty ass bump to bar
Louie - "Kind of a bogus one..."
Filmer - "What the fuck are you talking about???"
-
Dude was never going to get SOTY over Tyshawn with such a limited bag of tricks.

Not sure how „having a life“ goes together with your „this is boring“ to what I was referring.

Britghtest mind of his generation
as some comment's said
"Not enough views are correlating to this valuable knowledge"
Who the fuck is he looking at when he speaks. His eyes keeps on moving as if he was in a class room

anyways an hour is nuts. This got me all pissed off again at the SOTY decision. Louie definitely deserves the crown IMO.
But I don't pay that much attention to SOTY, was this from the year where Tyshawn Jones won for the second time ?
-
So fucking sick
-
there's a spot in this from my hometown that i have no idea how they got away with being there for so long over two days. you put a single wheel down any time of day and someone magically appears to tell you to leave. that said, its the best thing to ever go down at that spot
theres also another trick from a spot here that i cant even wrap my fucking mind around how he pulled it off and how they even ended up there. like, its a spot, sure, but its not a SPOT.

Was that the spot he was constantly looking down the sidewalk to see if someone was coming? You could tell him being on edge like that threw him off a bit.
Louie is a footage machine, I was just thinking the other day how its been a minute since we've seen some Louie. Then I realized how much he has spoiled us over the last couple years. You can tell he works his ass off for most of his tricks, just adds more weight to all those parts he has been putting out as of late. Thank you Louie.
-
I know there isn't a "best" skater, but damn, he's definitely one of the best to ever do it.
Gotta love an hour of raw Louie :-*
-
This should get him SOTY for this year
-
Somehow an hour doesn’t seem long enough. I’ll be rewatching this a lot. Louie is the fucking best
-
Edging meets skateboarding. Not shaming anyone for watching it in one sitting but feel like some of u lying about that at least half of u. This is the sort of shit u fall asleep 2 and not in boring way but in a hypnotized trance kinda way.
-
Dude has something wrong with him. He did a ton of difficult tricks over that were already perfect.

Louie is nowhere near as bad as Wade D. I feel like that dude has a problem.
-
anyone know about the fa boards that he is skating? i noticed that his nose and tail kicks are not as steep as most fa boards are (at least thats what it looks like to me, could be totally wrong tho). does he have a special shape made for his pro models?

He mentions at 19:15 "it's a twin tail" after snapping his board, would be cool if FA did a Twin.

Can't relate
The only hours that go by as fast are the ones skating
Louie is so good on his board I love him
-
That thumbnail is frightening. Looks like he could have decapitated himself there.
Great watch, really hope he will still win SOTY. He's turning 30 this year on November 26 @Burnett
-
I live in paris and i walk by the spot for the ender at least a few times a week. always hoped something would go down there but just figured nobody would be willing to risk their life for a fuckign trick. love the cover he got there with the guy looking up at him. seriously one of the most fucked spots out there
-
I’m sure it’s been said here but goddamn it louie is a gift to skateboarding

I am right there with you on that salt - absolute bullshit he didn't get it! Masterpiece right here!
Yes, it was 2022, when Tyshawn won it again.
I considered Louie, Nyjah and T Funk all more deserving of it that year than TJ.
-
Yeah Louie definitely should have won in 2022
-
This is fucked. Louie is a beast, the raw footy only shows how good he is. Half of these throwaway would be makes lmao
-
people used to give me shit for loving Louie when he was younger, love that now it's undeniable. he could get SOTY this year for this video from last year and I'd be happy.
been saying this a while but Louie is literally in a Sorry-era-Arto-skill-level window
-
Whats the inside out hoodie all about?

this got me thinking.....given how young he was sponsored and how productive he is, he might end up with the most footage ever for a pro career. And his throwaways are...not throwaways ?? I still haven't finished watching but so many times I wonder: why does he do it again, shit was perfect!
edit: holy crap that fs feeble transfer at 19'55 is right over very dangerous looking spikes. Getting impaled for a vid is not worth it IMO..... also just found out a british skater cut out the lower bar to make the Paris bank from the Thrasher cover skatable. and then Louie comes in to do that..... :o
-
Louie is the master of the quick bonk/grind transfer. Back nosegrind 180 bonk, heelflip nose bonk the bike rack, feeble transfer, 5-0 transfer, front feeble pop-out to hill bomb etc. etc. He's the master of that.
Also shoutout to the Harrisburg spot, ultra bust.
-

I don’t know what to think about this… it was discussed in the cover thread. I mean if you « open » a spot it’s sure somebody will come and skate it… even if it’s gnarly
Anyway the last time I walked by the spot (few months ago) it was still skateable, the lower bar isn’t going to be replaced for a long time I guess
Fun fact I lived a few streets away 10 years ago - at the time I never considered the Paris paved banks as skate spots… i NEVER looked at this kind of things in a skateboard related POV. Imaging people skating it NEVER crossed my mind

dude! same. it's like that thing at Canal Saint Martin (I have hard time calling it a bank even.....). Back in the 90's my buddies who were really into the fresh/tech approach only wanted to skate marble spots! Like le dome or Bercy....So paved shit was just not even considered.
-
just watched. in my opinion, he's one of the best to ever do it. so much style, so much control, seeing some of the spots in person just makes you realise how easy he makes it look.

I live a few streets away from the Canal Saint Martin bank and damn it’s fucked up. Good thing there is a fire station just 10 meters away, in case you need first aid
Also I’ve seen people skating banks just by the lock (not sure if it’s the right word for écluse) across the street from the Jemmapes skatepark
Props to Louie

Whats the inside out hoodie all about?
At the time all of this was filmed, Louie had a pretty tight apparel contract with Volcom (he is even wearing a bunch of the clothes from the "Louie" capsule in the footage... he has since left Volcom for Noah). I imagine there were times where he was out filming and realized it would be unprofessional (if not a contract violation) to have other clothing brand's logos on his torso so he flipped it inside out.
On another note, this footage is amazing and Louie is the best.
-
If I woud be vans management announcing a big new skater and it woudnt be Louie - I woud be disappointed about my company and myself.
If you don’t love Louie and don’t want to skate like
him - there is something wrong with you.
usually he got it first time, doing it really well second and picture book perfect third time.
And if he struggle working for a trick - the real magic happend
-
Loved every minute of it. Also made me think of fakie 5-0 halfcab flip to nosemanual. What a dream trick. Louie could do it.
-
...finally finished it. This would have been 30 minutes without all the celebratory high-five footage.
I've never understood the hype for Louie. He's good but I feel like he consistently skates below his level. Hence being able to land the same trick a dozen times in a row. The Primitive am video was leagues ahead of anything in here. I'm glad he didn't get SOTY. Maybe during a slow year they'll throw him a bone like AVE.

i almost took the bait

Fastbreaks must be a really great shoe. Dude has two of his own pro-models and he's skating Fastbreaks in at least 40% of this footage
-
Louie and Ishod is the best - both seems to be able to do just about anything. Is Louie the Latin Ishod, or is Ishod the black Louie btw? ;D
-
Finally got a WFH day so threw this on while getting some shit done and holy shit. Definitely will rewatch again even more closely. This is what I want when they say it's a "rough cut" of a part.

i noticed hes wearing fastbreaks any time it's a bigger drop or if there's more impact than he usually takes which makes sense the fastbreak is like cons only cupsole and the louies are super thin vulcs

I think he is rollerblader
-
you can plop louie into any era of modern street skateboarding and he wouldn't look out of place. truly timeless skating.
-
Finally watched the whole thing.... All the Paris footage at the end hits so hard!
what really struck me generally is that in an hour (!) of watching him skate fucked-up big spots.....there is not one horrifying slam. True mark of talent IMO, being able to not get wrecked. :-X
-
Completely undeniable skating. It's not just the talent and ability, but especially the spot selection - he almost always does exactly the right trick for the spot in question. Just amazing to watch.
-
Noticed he was probably skating the 80hd chargers in that one clip where his wheel fell apart, I'm skating some right now in Alaska and they rule, they're only 54mm but I feel like I can roll over anything
Anyways Louie fucking rips
-
He’s really ones of the best. It was kinda unbelievable how much rad skating he does in this
