Artifacts and Galt MacDermot - Coffee Cold, Which is sampled for one of my favorite songs. Skating was great as well. I wish there was more Albert Nyberg footage. That dude does some interesting things.
-
Great job Max!
Always love these, that was terrific! Europe really does have the best architecture for skating. Willow and Martino are such a treat to watch, genuinely have no idea what to expect. Particularly loved the Maatman / Nyberg section, so smooth! The Kickflip stalefish was absurd. Also the gap fs lipslide in Thessaloniki is impossible.
Certainly will watch again!
-
Woah, good stuff. Only 1/3 through, but this is packed full of good tricks and spots.
-
it was very good.
-
Willow 2.0 is fire. Haven't watched only i third of it yet.
Great to see the Max Pack getting better and better at filming.
-
A lot of great spots and a some seriously high-calibre skating. That last guy, Martino, must be a cat with nine lives.
Got a bit lost with so many heads despite the intro.
-
Video of the year so far!
-
that was an impeccable bs smith bs 180, by the Joakim Phoenix- looking dude who did the insane gap to lip
(seemed to be skating silver trucks- didn't know they were still going )
-
Any Dollin clips?
-
Cattaneo’s part is wild!
Does he even have a board sponsor post-Madness?
That was unbelievable.
-
Unbelievable shit throughout. Great crew, many of my favorites
-
Caught myself jaebing multiple times throughout, 45 minutes of heavy skating with the full crew at every spot, probably 20-30 rewinds. Video of the year so far. Vans Euro giving Vans USA a run for their money and having more fun doing it.
-
Such an enjoyable watch.
Incredible spots filming music skating all the way through.
Best shoe full length since I don't know what.
Any Dollin clips?
I only saw one at 28:35
-
wow that was indeed super sick. vans eu killing it, as usual.
-
About halfway through so far and it is pretty insane indeed. Willow II may literally be one of the sickest, gnarliest dudes on the planet right now. Morby track worked great too.
-
Damn... I always wanted someone to skate to "If you could save yourself you'd save us all" by Ween... But they used the wrong version... That's the one on the album... The demo version is so much rawer... In my opinion, it's their best song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns8MjuwlSJ8
-
You know a video is good when it ends and you realize you sat through 40 minutes without checking the time once
-
Have only watched the intro and willow part yet, both amazing, but I really wanted some second/different angles on some of his tricks. The angle on willows ender is criminal.
-

Holy hell that was indeed wild!
Sour would be a good fit if he's still in limbo.
Have to agree with @OrangeVHStapes too, the Caesar Demo version would have been my choice, that whole tape is fucked-up good.
-

that's notis aggelis, he's from thessaloniki in greece. he's venture gang for sure, they posted a little edit of him not too long ago.
I loved this video, the EU team is actually a lot more interesting than the US one in my opinion. i really enjoyed the whole unit, but willow, notis and martino stood out the most for me. also, special shoutout to that fake flip battle!
-
that was amazing to watch
-
Managed to watch the whole video in one go despite my instagram fried attention span, really enjoyed it. Martino's tries in the water park thing were crazy
-
10/10. Wasn't expecting it to be that great..
-
Damn! There was some amazing skating and spots in here. A bit long, but the last part made it worth sitting through. Only major gripe is the reusing of the Artifacts song that Tim O’Connor skated to in EE3. Some songs are better left alone.
-
always love the Vans EU videos, good spots/crew/vibe
-

At which point does a reuse become a shoutout? I'd say there's an axis of: time elapsed, how iconic the original usage is and hommage paid through other cues (trick redos, spots revisited, etc.) If there's enough time gone by and the original usage is as iconic as Tim's arguable career highlight, you don't need to directly reference him to make it ok.
-
The Euro team is better than the American team. The name of the video is stupid.
-
not sure the last time I watched a 40 min video full attention, with ppl I haven't ever heard of for the most part.
That was fantastic. reminded me of golden-era Cliche, which is probably the best compliment I can give anything. incredible skating, great music, good filming, cool spots, tf else you want?
-
the last part was amazing
-
Wow this was so sick!!! Fuck
-
The tailslide outledge horizontal gap to fakie down the narrow brick hubba with half inch deep grout in the last guys part really fucked me up, didnt someone else get a clip there this past year? Or was it a photo / sequence of this same trick? It just doesn't seem possible.. Would not commit to that for a million fucking dollars. The difficulty to dangerousness ratio is 1:1 pure fucking insanity.
-
What a treat, passsed the “made me want to skate” test with flying colors.
-

Think barney page did something like noseslide pop onto the hubba, not sure if was to fakie or not
-
This was cool as. Good spots, editing, vibes. Loved seeing Pfanners mum on the sesh. His part ruled too.
-

This this and this!
Dare I say video of the year so far which is insane considering how many guys in this are virtually unknown here in the US.
-
Honestly thought this was better than BHADW2
-
Artifacts and Galt MacDermot - Coffee Cold, which is sampled for one of my favorite songs.
Had to re-listen the Handsome Boy Modeling School song after watching this. Great songs. Great skating as well, Vans movies have rarely disappointed me.
-
Well that was excellent. Music fit very well too. Pfans EU is killing it. Extra points for bringing mum on the trip.
-
This ruled so much, got super excited to skate. Although, watching that one guy who was doing a fakie flip off the roof (and slamming) plus insane hill bomb was giving me anxiety. He's crazy!
-
i just cannot believe this. all of the tricks in the last guy's part are ender-worthy.
i did not know about artifacts until this video, wow.

that's yann-xavier horowitz, whom is one of my faves, and i swear it's not just because he's so hot and gay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxxoWk_MHJw
-
Very kewl
-
Anyone care to provide time stamps of the parts? I’m fucking loving this video but don’t know the majority of these guys.
-
Holy shit that was enjoyable. Almost too much good stuff to process. But yeah I have no idea who most of these guys are, wish it had names with the parts.
-
Super sick video from the starting point but the last part was just absurd!

Barney did noseslide and nick garcia did tailslide, both to forward. All three tricks very fucked up, I think Barney made it look best
-
What an amazing watch. I do think some of Willow's tricks really screamed for a second angle and using speedramps on a couple of the nuttier stunts throughout the flick wouldn't have gone amiss. Never got why some dudes in skate editing are so violently against them.
-
half-way through and this really is great. filming is fucking perfect, can't believe I liked a nollie by shove-it down some stairs
-
for anyone who didn't give it the time yet, this is a full length of the year contender.
saw photos of some of this stuff quite far back, so they were definitely working on this for a long time and it paid off.
-
that last guy is too good to not be more well known. soooo gnarly. the guy getting anti hero / grimple was gnarly too.
-

for sure!
also, martino cattaneo martino cattaneo martino cattaneo martino cattaneo martino cattaneo
and, martino cattaneo. goddamn! Swiss savage.
-
Last dude is psycho.
-
I watched this again and I’m enjoying it more and more.
What was up with that editing error on the second angle of the last trick? It cuts straight to the middle of his nose manual. I’ve never seen that in all my years of professional skate video consumption. How did that get by?
-
this thread should be like 15 pages, smh. you guys suck. (not the ppl in this thread)
-
I agree, this was video of the year so far not just in terms of skating but overall creativity and entertainment. Willow and Martino's parts opened up a whole new can of wormholes. Martino like an early Josh Kasper reincarnated as a Sean Green that just smoked a bowl of GT concentrate. Does anyone know if Willow is officially on GX? Who does Martino ride for? He's got that crazy look in his eye... and filmed that whole part nursing what looked like a broken wrist wrapped in a loose cloth?
-
The way he skates Martino's wrist is probably perma-bruised. He was on Madness no?
-
I messaged my USA pals on the group chat, check out the news vans Europe video....they all declined.
-

Martino had a great part in Tom’s Tales as well. First part

They all are fucking stupid, then. Time to get some new pals
-

he was yeah. i assumed he'd have a spot on opera (which i understood as being like the reincarnation of madness ala jacuzzi from enjoi) but he doesn't.
someone should snap him up.

It’s a crime that he has no board sponsor. Dude really deserves one
-
The last guy was great, but the guy right before him, the skinny/younger/Vallely-looking guy was my fave. Fakie 180 melon grab varial to mute thingy down those stairs! Who is that? Dude was cre-a-tive.
-
Great video, just wished they hadn’t used that artifacts song from Tim O’Connors part in ee3.
-
how can a guy that good not have a board sponsor.........his gnarly rating is up there with Pedro & Jack O'Grady.
-
I know Vans is paying the bills and all, but slim this down to all the guys not on a legit board sponsor and this vid could've launched the next Polar or Isle. Pfanner, you know it's time!
-
Martino and Willow should be straight to pro for GX1000, I don't know what other crew could match their skill, trippiness or overall insanity

He seems like the perfect Opera guy. Shame he's not on but hopefully this gets him hooked up and paid
-
Who’s the Linus looking motherfucker who be riding all the dirt?
-
Cattaneo being without a sponsor is a shame really. Dude is 30 apparently, pay him now, skateboarding!
I wonder if part of the problem is that he hasn't traveled to the US enough, to get his name out there? Did he ever come to the US??
Also yeah, Nyberg really does look like a young Vallely. And I like his skating too.... Plus using that Alpha Blondy was an awesome idea (reaggae singer from Ivory coast). Now that's an artist I really never expected to hear in a skate vid!!

That's Yeelen Moens. Nyberg has very few clips unfortunately.

Being on Opera gets you paid?? I couldn't tell you one guy on that team and I frequently forget the brand even exists.

i forgot it after the first time i watched. but rewatched it two times now and the guy at the beginning is introducing every skater, who is then shown in person. i really liked that way, though, i agree with you that a title card before each skater would have been far more convenient
-
That Greek guy Notis Aggelis is insanely good too. The back 50-50 with like a 7 foot transfer to front 50-50 was one of my favorite clips. If I went to that spot, I probably wouldn't even consider that possible. His gap to front lip was huge as well.
-
I am a bit late to the party but I have to say Martino‘s part was mental, dude cemented his status as Europe‘s most savage skater, kind of like a nice version of T Funk (not trying to hate on T Funk here).

He was on Thrasher’s Am Scramble a few years ago. He does not get much American footage, I agree. It’s so hard to come up anymore.. so many skaters, so few spaces. I’m glad to see he is still on Vans.

And agreed on the smith 180, thing belongs in the Louvre.

sorry - hooked up by "someone", not necessarily them. I just would like this guy to get some money

He seemed to have lots of momentum after Tom’s Tales, then Am Scramble then going pro for Madness.
And then Madness folds…
Pfanner should put in the word at Anti Hero… though given they put on Doobie it might be too late
-
Cataneo and Willow would be perfect on GX1000 given willows flow status.
But it would be even cooler if there would be a cool new Euro brand. It’s been a minute since the last great euro brand emerged

Last time I saw him in person, he was skating an Anti Hero board, but I have no idea whether that means anything.

Willow's only flow?? I find that hard to believe with the coverage he's getting. If true though, SOMEBODY PLEASE build a brand around him, Martino and Notis. That could be the start of a new Euro heavyweight, like Deja Vu era Cliche, Colour blue era Blueprint or peak LORDZ, only with a hesher vibe. What if Pfanner rebuilt Antiz around them?! That would be sick.

Maybe he’s AM - not sure. From the outside, GX1000 seems different than other brands, since they are so tightly knit around SF and being a crew.
Not sure, if bringing Antiz back, is a good idea.
-
Cataneo and SF seems like a highly dangerous combination. Thrasher should can the am scramble series and use the gas money to rent an apartment for Willow and Martino in the city.

Antiz wasn't very cool but felt always very real and connected to local scenes and unafraid to take artistic risks. I fuck with that although you wouldn't catch me dead in their softgoods...

i agree. but that doesn't mean it needs to have a come back enjoyed the last video from them. but a new brand that would rival US brands in a way sour, magenta, cliché, polar or palace did would be cool
-
Sometimes I randomly remember that body varial kickflip durong the day
How the fuck do you even come up with that?
-
Late to the party, but damn that was fun to watch.
