Title: Keen Ramps Channel Kook or no Kook?
Post by: Shtonk on May 10, 2024, 03:20:52 AM
Personally I find some/many of their videos very insightful and helpful. But the homie behind the cam is painfully bro-ed out and some stuff is just bait. This is a really good one for example (except of course cam homie chirpsing shit on how 60 bucks for a pro grade counter sink bit is not much money when we're talking people building a backyard DIY ramp)

you searched far and wide for the kook
you consulted the ancient texts
and ritual gatherings of those who play with wooden toys
you even consulted the oracle
looking into his orb that helped you see far and wide and into the past
you pointed fingers and called out heretics
but one day, you stepped back
and realized
the kook was in you the whole time

For what it’s worth- I actually contacted Keen ramps back during the lockdown days. They were willing to custom make a ramp. When I decided to build on my own and not order from them -they were super cool about it. Even shared some tips about transition and leveling. They were really pleasant and helpful.
I think the YouTube stuff is for the demographic they have to market to…mostly younger kids and parents of said kids…
I would give them a neutral on the kook scale.

To be fair that sounds more like a positive on the antikook scale.

Gonna go no kook on this one. I like that dude knows his shit is expensive but seems to be working ideas to get more affordable ramps (relatively speaking) into people’s driveways.
