I still believe Dane’s best part is the one in I Like It Here Inside My Mind and I think he can’t top it

I’m not able to decide which Dane part is my favourite: ”I Like It Here…” or ”We Blew It”. Both are (almost) perfect in their own ways.
Anyways if he would film a full part of just slappies and all kind of weirdness I would watch it every day.

Edit: Actually after thinking about this more I say ”I Like It Here…” is my favourite of the two. I remember being at the local premiere and after Dane’s part (which is the first part if you don’t count the intromontage) I was so stoked to skate already that I felt quite impatient to finish the rest of the video.

definitely would love a slappy part! I used to love his early skate edits on IG.

I like it in here was the best because it was before he went a bit too Dane and started skating distracting shaped boards and it felt less casual/fun

I think the we blew it at some point is his best. I think around then is when he refined his style and trick selection. That era of him and Emile skating Portland filming each other is awesome

This video is the epitome of contemporary skateboarding. It has every trope and trend. Crazy juxtaposition to the Toy Machine video, which I liked more.
Chris and and Franky’s parts were good.
Had to mute the awful emo music twice, that trend peaked with this video and can now die. I can’t remember the last time I muted a skate video.

Worst soundtrack I've ever heard. Laughably bad.
Forever confused why this seemingly airy, carefree crew of jokesters always skates to such angsty, overly-serious screaming. Jarring contrast.
Dane Brady rules. I'm a fan of Daniel Dent's filming.

I thought it was pretty good. It's short enough to throw on before a session while you're eating a bowl cereal, lacing up the shoes, etc., so I'll probably re-watch at some point. Consensus here seems to be that the soundtrack sucks, but I enjoyed 3/4ths of it and the 1/4 I didn't like wasn't mute-worthy. Overall the video is a little bit hipstery (kind of on brand for LR) but it made me wanna go skate. Also noticed a handful of Portland spots which is cool.

The music was so bad it influenced my entire opinion of this. Honestly if they had just included anything more upbeat, FFS even pop punk woulda been preferable, I woulda viewed it more favorably as a fun homies video. Instead it shows the brand has no identity and is generic as their Zara sales rack shoe aesthetic.

really thought the video was super good start till end. Would usually hate this kind of music but in my opinion it really worked with the skating, style of skater and editing in general. I need to start studying some dane brady footage, I'm really not too familiar with him which is a good thing so I have more stuff to watch from him. Will probably rewatch this, which I rarely do nowadays.
Also: somebody above mentioned best shoes; the shoe quality is actually garbage. Even when walking after 2 months they're done and the glue get's loose. Had multiple pair, love the look and fit but to say they're the best shoes.. definitely not (ironically still the only skate shoes I bought in the last 2 years).

Sure, there are a lot of tropes that get overused from this camp - midwest emo, ride-on grinds, strobeck-y filming - but generally speaking I like watching these guys skate. Feels relatable somehow.

Very different experience for me, I’ve only skated LRAB since they came out and in my 30+ years of skating the VM001 is the most durable skate shoe I’ve ever had. Top quality. I also use them for work where I walk 8, sometimes 10 miles a day and have never had quality issues. I’ve definitely put in a 1000 miles on a pair before.
That said, the soundtrack is making me reconsider my life choices.
