Title: Wheels
Post by: WonkaBar on September 13, 2007, 07:57:46 PM
flatpots are my worst nightmare. are there any wheels guaranteed not to flatspot?

Last pairs of Hubbas and Caliskatz wheels didn't flatspot. But then again I don't powerslide that often. Accidental ones during tricks sure, and I was surprised they didn't flatspot whenever that happenedkhdhaksdjklsaek jklsadklasj lkjsrsad

Aren't Darkstars guaranteed?

Yeah, but some are more prone, like Spitfires.

Can't go wrong with Rictas

The past two times I had a set of Rictas, they flat spotted in a few weeks. I gave up on them.

Ricta wheels are the worst, if I wanted to waste money I would donate to charity, but Bones STF's on the other hand, have no flaw in them at all.

flatspot-proof wheels are made by the same company that makes break-proof boards, but i just can't remember the name of them right now.

So far i've been really really trying.. and honestly i cant flatspot them at all.
Im on my fifth set of bones STF wheels and the only reason for having gone through so many is i keep giving them to friends who dont believe me when i tell them how good they are.

Pick up a set you wont be sorry.

I've seen maybe two pair of wheels that have been flatspotted in my life, I've been riding the same pair of rictas for going on two years now and they're fine. actually I bought them used, so who knows how old they are

how do you flatspot in two or three weeks?
Title: Re: Wheels
Post by: loophole on September 20, 2007, 07:49:30 AM
i usually ride satoris

but i never get flatspots... even with (nose)blunts
ive only even had flatspots once and thats because they were old and had been in a hot environment without use for a few months

you guys silly.  all wheels get flatspots if you sit on a powersilde/noseblunt/blunt side for too long.
its very easy to get them out, just go bomb the longest hill in your area and do a ridiculous amount of powerslides the whole way down.  by the time you're at the bottom the flatspots should be gone.  if you're shits still sounds like an AK-47, bomb it again.

if you don't have any hills in your area, just do like kevin harris and those flatspots will be gone within a few minutes.....

as far as wheels coning(dr. newton),
turn them around(meaning if the graphic was facing the inside, make it so its on the outside) and cross rotate them(meaning take the left front wheel and switch it with the right rear wheel and vise versa) every 2 weeks or so and you won't have that problem.

flatspotting depends on the climate you live in..... i live in a tropical asian country and our wheels ever flatspot....  its always hot here so our wheels dont go all hard and soft since we have warm weather all year around....

been skating these for a while. the middle is softer so it gives you the soft wheel comfort with the hard wheel speed. haven't had any flat spot issues but I try like hell not to power slide to a stop. heard that's what cause flat spots, you might try it...
