Title: The little furry SlapPal!
Post by: Evil Kraken from the Arctic Sea on January 21, 2008, 09:38:23 AM
Hey guys!
Today my girlfriend and I went to this farm to get a little puppy Jack Russel Terrier. He is 9 weeks old, and I thought, since we all love little puppy dogs, Iīm gonna make a Fotothread, where you can see how he grows up and stuff. Right now, he is sleeping like a baby (well he is one so...). It was an exhausting day for him. He left his mom and then had to do the trip on the train for almost an hour and then we bought him a bed and stuff.
Hereīs the thing: We havenīt settled for a name yet. At the moment we think weīre gonna call him Elvis, but if you guys can think of a better name, I appreciate any suggestions!
Ok, and now, since this is what you all want: Hereīs the little Pal, the first pictures:
This is right after we got him, it was cold outside, so  we wrapped him in a sweater:

And this is the first picture of him exploring our flat. He said the floor is too slippery:

Haha, how right you are. Just the moment I unlocked the door, the little brat peed all over the floor. But just before he did it, he started crying, so technically it was my fault because I wasnīt fast enough... Then I took himm to the park and THERE he took a big shit...I was so proud....Iīll try and upload a video later on, maybe tomorrow...damn, I love him already.

Agreed on both. Is there an XXSmall Slapsweater available?

His name is officially Elvis...

you know the thing about giving him 'his own room' when they move in right?  like, for a month or so you should let him sleep in just one room...  whether with you or not.  that way he has a safe space

Thats funny! At the moment I donīt have any hash at home, but Iīd be pissed if he ate my chocolate brownies...well no. I wouldnīt be. I canīt be mad at the lil guy. He is sleeping all the time now, but well, it really was a tough day for him. Canīt wait til tomorrow though. Then heīll be more active and maybe I can play a bit with him.

Also, don't let him eat the same stuff you eat or raw meat. Dogs don't handle food as well as humans.

Fells like he should be in the commercial with the little talking puppy. Another little piece of advice is to not stand them on their hind legs its suppose mess them up and give them arthritis or something ether was good luck.

This should help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Russell_Terrier

I can't wait to cuddle him until he gets mad and bites me with his puppy teeth. And then I'm gonna talk to him in baby language and tell him how bububad you are and how gugugood I am and then throw sticks for him and soon he will only obey me.

Yea, exactly...I may need to point out that I asked Mr. Hapredingli for advice concerning the name. He came up with "Harriet-Jet", "godzilla" and "smoker given" and some more names like that. Anyways, Iīll teach him to kill you. Right now I think he couldnīt kill a fly. Heīs sleepong most of the time and seems to have really exciting dreams because sometimes he twiches really hard when asleep.

He also really likes eating, I made a little video and uploaded it on youtube. ENJOY:

It is obvious you really care for him, dogs need a ton of attention. There is no ignoring them or leaving them be for a while, he will need constant time with you. This is an important time as he will be imprinted with whomever he spends the most time with now.
such a cute dog, gives me a happy feeling. take good care of him.

It was Harrier Jet and Smoker Gibbons. Glad you didn't choose them though, he really does come across like an Elvis. Maybe a Heinrich.
Anyways, train him well to obey you, because once I start hypnotizing him by saying "hündchen" repeatedly in a high pitched voice, he might not be able to go back anymore.
Damn. I need to cuddle him right now.

Update!!
Today the little fella made us very proud! He peed all over the bed!!! Well okay, he did that too, but he did other things that were really rad! I went to the park with him and for the forst time I saw him running!!! He was really playful, jumping up and down and smelling on everything that came across his path. AAANNNND: He already answers when we call him "Elvis". When I said "COME ELVIS  :)" He jumped out of his puppybed and ran forward to me. And he started to  enjoy playing and biting stuff. He really likes chewing on my hair and biting in my nose and fingers. He already seems to be very comfortable with us, he kinda trusts and depends on us already. And everytime my girlfriend lies down  on the floor, tha little pal jumps right onto her and starts licking her ...eyes. Seriously, that puppy-Elvis is a sucker for eyes. Or maybe itīs the mascara but he always licks eyes. Now he is asleep...again...he always eats and sleeps.
Iīll try to film him tomorrow when weīre in the park. I hope he doesnīt piss all over the place tonight...Last night he didnīt...
Oh, my girl says HELLO to the slapPals, and so does little Elvis in his dreams...did I tell him about his REM? Itīs weird, his eyes move fast and his body twitches. Heīs a dreamer. He is dreaming right now.

This is the best food I've found http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/products/California-Natural-Dry-Puppy-Food/204069.aspx

Diet is important and a dog on a good diet will digest properly and not have as many "mistakes" on the carpet. I'm glad Duffy mentioned no chocolate, that can put a dog into immediate cardiac arresst. They shouldn't have any people food at all. Get treats that don't contain crap like food dyes, wheat, etc. Wheat is detrimental to dogs and causes a lot of digestive and skin problems. The most simple food closest to what is natural to them is the best.

Good luck with little Elvis! Do you sing "Hound Dog" to him? hahhh

Oh...didnīt know chocolate was SUCH a dogkiller...Iīll try and keep elvis away from chocolate, I bet heīd eat it without thinking. At the moment he is so into biting stuff. He thinks biting stuff is awesome. Sometimes he thinks his tail is a snake and tries to bite it. This night he was a bit louder than last night...I think he wasnīt tired enough, so he kept whining and I had to put my hand in his little puppynest. Then after waking up, I took a short walk with him and I was sure he had done his thang(it was kinda dark, so I couldnīt see if he did it or not), but when we came back home, he peed  in the kitchen. I told him that that was wrong, but if you got any advice on how to get dogs housebroken, Iīd appreciate it...
Anyhows, then I sat down on the couch with him and he looked so cute, so I took another video of him...sorry, at one point Iīm making really gay noises giggling like a girl, but hey, itīs a puppy dog, youīd do the same. Oh, and theres footage of him biting his own tail.
Now weīll go to the park again, he needs to go outside quite often...Iīll take pictures!

Don't feed him to much with your hands (at least not all the time), otherwise he'll bite in all sorts of stuff later (chairs, cushions;)

You have to make peeing a really happy rewarding experience. Let him know where you want him to pee. Take him outside to the same spot several times, many times a day and try to sense when he has to go the most, like after waking up. Use some kind of word association like "gotta pee?" in a happy voice. Take him outside to the spot and tell him to pee. Be patient, just stand there and let him walk around and pick his spot. When he goes, make a big deal out of it 'GOOD DOG' or whatever you want to use when he does something good. Take him back in the house to his spot/bed and give him a treat, still verbally rewarding him. He's going to eventually think, wow this peeing outside thing is great!

Your dog is a puppie so Im thinking hes just checking everything out and smelling but when he gets us to stuff and you see him smelling all of a sudden it normally means hes gotta pee.

Yes, I noticed that. He usually tells us either by smelling and tapsing around nervously, or by little puppy peeping noises. Whenever he peed in the flat, I could tell beforehand but I couldnīt get dressed fast enough so he peed on the floor. Weīve got one room with parquet and the rest of the appartement is laminat. He sleeps (and stays most of the time) in the wooden parquet room. Amazingly when he had to pee he went in a laminat floor room which makes it much easier to clean, plus parquet gets really nasty stains from pee. One time when I took a shower he had to poop. He pooped on a newspaper...I was amazed.
Iīm glad he makes the night without crying to much and also doesnīt have to pee or poop. Wow, this is transforming into a real faecal topic...
Iīmm going to post some more pictures and videos, just have to upload them...
raw meat is great for dogs
I heard that too...Iīve been told that cereal is not very appropriate for dogs (they said "wolves donīt eat no rice or corn, the dogs stomach canīt handle that") and that raw meat is getting more popular amongst dog owners...Iīve also been told that the dry food (is that the word?) may contain "everything your dog needs", but it also contains various stuff he doesnīt need. Anyways, at the  moment Iīm feeding him a mix of Junior dry food and wet food. He seems to like it. He eats a lot but I try to give him only two meals a day (plus rewardings for -here we go again- doing his business outside...

Oh yeah, I love that too...he even has some crinkles in his face, so cute!

Seriously study up on raw meat if you are considering that. It's really hard to do a home made diet because you have to know what else to feed them to be a complete balanced diet. It takes a lot of preparation and a lot of the right supplements. Supermarket meat as you know is full of ecoli and salmonella, we can't even eat it raw ourselves. I think if you have fresh frozen lamb flown in from New Zealand that would be different.

Ok, here we go. Yesterday in the park I filmed him running around, but I was too lazy to upload it. But now:
"Uploading...

PLEASE BE PATIENT—THIS MAY TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES.
ONCE COMPLETED, YOU WILL SEE A CONFIRMATION MESSAGE."

And here are some recent pictures of the little guy:
Elvis with my girl:

Elvis on the run:

Later in the evening, we took a nightstroll to the park. In the evening there are more people with dogs there. So he met Sina, a big dog, she was very gentle with him, and he rearded her kindness with biting in her tail and crawling on her back. It was good to see that heīs not an antisocial dog. Then a man came, and with a huge Boxerdog. The dog scared Elvis and he was hiding between my legs. I was scared too. That dog was enormous. On our way back, the neighboors cat walked around in our way, Elvis was very interested but didnīt know what to make out of the situation. So he pooped on the grass.
Now he is sleeping...again...
Iīll post the video as soon as the uploadīs done.

Buy some dog books.  No offense, but you didnt even know chocolate was bad for dogs.  Dogs are the best thing in the world but they are also a huge responsibility and theres lots of stuff to know.  Also training him right when he is a puppy is crucial.

Anyway, awesome dog, enjoy him!

No offense taken at all... I kinda panicked because of that yesterday. I was freaking out thinking I wouldnīt be able to give him a well enough place to live. I realised I never had a responsibility like this before. I mean he is a living creature...I definitely have to read up stuff, you  are right, I  was going to look for books on dogs to educate me anyways...

Oh, just before anyone thinks how irresponsible I am for not having picked up a book on dogs yet, my girlfriend already had two dogs, and Elvis is also her dog, so itīs not like I donīt have any source of information at all...and theres slap ^

she's about a year, they weren't sure of her birthday.  we had gotten fucked by some other assholes at a different shelter, long story, so we just popped in at an adoption day this other shelter was having at a PetCo, and we filled out the application, talked to the people, and took her home that day.  She's been great since.  My girlfriend and I both have classes and stuff, so we didn't want to dive right into a puppy, because we didn't want to leave it home all the time.  Nena is pretty good though, nice and laid back and ready to play when we get home.

the best weekend of my life is when i got my dog....

a couple things we learned....

1) no dog it bed.....crate train your dog...
2) w. our terrier..we didn't really play ball and shit w. them or tug o war...terriers can be psycho by nature and games like that kinda encourage it.....i did it sometimes but sparingly....
3) socialize the shit out of your dog...w. people and other dogs...
4) go to puppy school....but don't go w. your g/f....go separately....you'll get in a big fight...it's good for puppies to socialize w. puppies....
5) w. terriers...the 'come' command is crazy important cause if they see a rat or a squirell they are gone....
6) go talk to some chicks....puppy is like super power.....

Wow, that dog is really really cute!!!
My little elvis is really growing up. yesterday when we were outside, we met a big cat. i decided to let elvis get to know her so he sniffed around and the moment he touched her, she jumped and hit him with a paw. Little pal was scared so we made a move...
What seems weird is, he is 10 weeks old now and already fucks his stuffed animal. He even gets a boner and Iīm kinda weirded out because he is a puppy still and already has an erection. But I read that it happens every now and then...

Clarkie knows what's up with raw meat, stagefright doesn't. Dry food is also good for his teeth.

FINALLY, new pictures. Today we went to the park (well we do it everyday), and he couldnīt get enough of everything. So much to smell, and running around felt better than ever. He got to know a poodle and brought back sticks that I threw for him...
Anyway, here are two new pictures:

Small dogs are awesome, I have a Yorkshire Terrier. Good job on giving him attention especially when he is young, thats the best thing you can do. And like said before no matter what kind of cute face he gives you dont give him your food. In the end he will be happier

From my experience with the dogs I've had, the small ones are full grown within 5-7 months, bigger ones are grown after like 9-10.

On 1-27 my girlfriend and I got a Boglen (Boston Terrier/Beagle) girl puppy. She was born 12-2-07 so she is just coming up on 8 weeks. Her name is Clementine.

Popwar, I know with our puppy she has just started to get her shots and shit. She is due for her second set in about 1-2 weeks, but until she gets all her shots, she isn't supposed to go out to parks (ESPECIALLY dog parks) or anywhere like that (Petsmart, Petco, etc). It's real easy for puppies to get sick. I don't know how Elvis is doing on shots and shit, but you might check with your vet before letting him go out crusin' to too many places.

Have you taken him to his first puppy check up or anything?

Get that dirty (but incredibly cute) puppy off your bed!

Stagefright, a few vets we talked to told us not to give raw meat to our dog (or any dog) for reasons Clarkie gave. I dunno, I'd rather trust a vet than a dog food manufacturer. Of course, I could be wrong but I'd rather be safe.

You guys are gonna love this. Elvis has found his first friend. Or maybe enemy, time will show. They already threw a few fists, but noone got hurt, no worries. His friend, I like to call him fattie is this incredbly big cat. It always sneaks up to him when weīre in front of the house and tries to hit him with itīs paws. Itīs cute though. Hereīs the evidence:

Post by: Evil Kraken from the Arctic Sea on August 17, 2008, 12:08:14 PM
I posted this in another thread:
Here is an update on Elvis:
Here's Elvis and his best friend Gina. He tried to make babies with her today, she snapped at him. He couldn't even reach her pussy anyway:

She is so cool...they'd make cute babies.

This is Elvis sleeping on the bed in my mothers appartement back in Vienna. I donÄt let him sleep in my bed, but if it's my mothers bed it's ok...
That's Elvis and me, chilling on the couch. He always wake's me up lickin my face.

yea pets are the shit, when i was in toronto i had zero contact with any animals and it really bummed me out, i was so stoked to come home to my dogs, i was ridiculously stoned one night and just let my new puppy nip my face for maybe half an hour
