Very humble and thankful for everything he has. I always like his interviews. He's the type of skater I want to be as I continue to age...

I called down to Deluxe right then and told them that I wanted to come in the next day and do my last board. I didn't want to be the guy hanging on.

Respect!

Let's be honest here, who the fuck cares about Ernie Torres?

Thiebaud did a sick front 360 frontside grab on his ramp in an old DLX promo with music by Tortoise. He should rack up some more ramp footy and put it out there.

Ernie Torres is deserving of his pro status. At least in my mind and obviously in the minds of his sponsors. So I guess I am the fuck who cares. His mom probably cares about him too.

That's crazy--Berra actually refers to the time he called Jovantae the "n word."
But hey, it was all a big misunderstanding!!

I have heard that Jovantae made up the "n word" utterance to justify punching Berra. Maybe Berra will come here and set the record straight.

he's really good, but 80% of the spots/tricks in that video were completely boring.  i could give fuck-all about flip tricks down gaps/stairs and california handrails.

From the TWS Kareem interview, I think he says "black guy". Maybe they censored it.

Quick quiz. Match racial slur with the skater who made it:

a. "nigger work"
b. "nigger-lover"
c. "chink-chink"
d. "trashy nigger"

Danny Way
Mike Vallely
Corey Duffel (I know, too easy)
Tony Hawk

The Tony Hawk trick chink - chink has nothing to do with the racial slur and everything to do with the sound that the truck makes when it hits the coping on that trick.

If Berra came here that would be horrible. We would have to suffer 1000 word posts of him trying to get us to join his cult. I'd have to use the ignore button when he'd start ranting about his movies.

No doubt, are there people that actually think that has racial overtones?

Ah well, back to my bag of coffee nips.

uh...i think in an interview steve said that it was 'real cool black guy...real cool' not 'nigger'......and he was referencing something rick howard had said which when he said it....not only can he get away with it...it's funny.....steve obviously couldn't...

Doesnt get any better than Jim. After all the bullshit is said and done and the moneys gone, Jim, Real and DLX will still be doing what they do.

No. I just wanted to break up the n-words. I do, however, think that Mullen calling Dwindle's original Chinese factory the "Chop-Chop Woodshop" was a little racist. Chop-chop, of course, having the dual meaning of "get to work", and some type of gibberish an Asian person would say (not unlike "ching-chong").

And Gipper, your logic is impeccable. I guess you had a 50% chance by elimination anyway.

Speaking of racism, I always thought Thiebaud's Real board had the best shape and graphic of its time (perhaps of all time).

I have a t shirt of that graphic that I still wear sometimes. One of these days I plan on getting it tattooed as well. That was a great board when it came out. I also wish I had the Real Native American board, any one remember that one?

On the subject of racist comments, wasn't that Mike V comment about N work a hoax that Big Brother played on him to be assholes?

When I was a kid I saw that graphic in a mag and drew it at school.  Being a wee little thing, I didn't know anything about the Klan or lynching, but I remember my teacher being pretty freaked out.
