They only carry Kid Robot, LRG, Adidas, and Nike.

And they used one of their riders names, sent his footage to LRG, got boxes of product from them, and then put that shit on the shelfs and sold it without him even knowing.

This looks good. I've never actually been there and it's sort of far and they probably don't sell decks under 10", but it's still the Mess's.

if you work in a shop you aren't a pro skateboarder, you're a pro shop assistant.

no they're professional shop assistants, nothing to be ashamed of, people will always need assistance.

so basicallly if you're a professional skateboarder and you just so happen to work at  a skateshop that means you're not a pro skater?

yeah man. you start a successful local brand and you had parts in the static video and other videos but if you decide to work at a shop for some extra money or to just hang out with the kids a little more often that means you're not a pro skater, you're a pro shop assistant  ::)

poocrusher already posted my local shop, so i will post another. it's a skateshop/skatepark in vermont. it's owned by two people that actually skate, they built the ramps themselves, they build ramps for public parks all across the northeast, and they hook up a lot of people. the skateshop is just as big as the park and they offer discounts and free sessions. everytime we have gone up they have hooked us up with a place to stay and either showed us around the city, or had someone else show us around the city

Fa skates in Arlington Heights, IL. www.faskates.com (http://www.faskates.com)
They started in the 80's and went through the era when owning a skateshop was a guaranteed money-loser. They started off in a small corner in a tennis shop and have since moved into a larger building around the corner. Whether money is in it or not, these guys are legit and always will be.

Uprise skateshop in Chicago, IL.www.upriseskateshop.com (http://www.upriseskateshop.com) If you are in Chicago, go here. Rad shop, rad employees. They gave me a discount one time when I went in recently because I immediately was able to identify and get hyped off of the menace section in 20 shot.

DLXSF- not sure what the shop URL is, but if you are in SF, this is the place to go. This dude Matt who works there is the best skateshop employee ever and is also the ultimate skate nerd (which is a good thing). Go in there on a random day and he'll be in there watching an old 80's vert contest video and explaining all the different foot plants they are doing to whoever. Not to mention, all deluxe and other SF brands are sold for super cheap ($40 decks).

Mission skateshop- don't know the website but its on 24th st. and treat in SF. I bought a set of wheels there recently and it came with a free beer. enough said.

Come to gastonia sometime, if you feel like wasting a entire day to watch tweakers and meth heads walking around.
Allen(the owner) built a little park inside the skate shop, it's pretty cool. Not as much stuff as Blacksheep though. But ever since Micah McSwain started working there, it seems like they got a lot more DLX, Es, Roughneck and other San Fransisco stuff.

The 35th Ave south shop is ran by Riding Walls, don't get much more legit than that! The north shop is ran by a dude named Tony who's hella cool. I've only been in there a few times, but they're rad, and they've got a crazy good team of nothing but the nicest dudes.

Goods is ran by Steve Gonzales, he's rad, and I believe Yeah Dude! works there and rides for them.

I'm sure there's tons of other real cool skater-owned shops that don't have the word "snow" in the name, but I haven't really ventured into many other shops than 35th South in the longest time.

But yeah, if there's something rad going on locally, these are the three definate shops you'd see on the flyer.

Haven't opened yet, but almost there.  Checked out the shop today and its just about done, just have to finish the mini ramp and some other stuff.  Everyones been working their asses off trying to get everything done. Gary has been pulling like 15 hour days painting, putting up drywall, everything.  Him and everyone else at Vu are definitely 100% committed and I hope everything works out with the shop. I know I have posted two topics about the shop already, my bad.

poocrusher already posted my local shop, so i will post another. it's a skateshop/skatepark in vermont. it's owned by two people that actually skate, they built the ramps themselves, they build ramps for public parks all across the northeast, and they hook up a lot of people. the skateshop is just as big as the park and they offer discounts and free sessions. everytime we have gone up they have hooked us up with a place to stay and either showed us around the city, or had someone else show us around the city

Yeah talents definitely a sick place, does Hannah still work there, I never see her there anymore

No Comply Skateshop (Austin, TX)
http://nocomplyskate.com/ (http://nocomplyskate.com/)

Collective Skateshop (Ft. Worth, TX)
http://www.collectiveboardshop.com/ (http://www.collectiveboardshop.com/)

I fully back both of these shops. No Comply hosts lots of events around the Austin area and the owners are just down to earth. The owners of Collective are the same people that run the www.fourduos.com (http://www.fourduos.com) website to promote Texas skateboarding.

i think poocrusher owns meta? or at least is involved with it

Yeah, I just didn't want to list it at first.  I didn't want to start a thread to hype my own shop.

But, the list is starting to look awesome.  There are so many independent shops out there, and every bit of exposure will help.

Sunday in Buffalo, NY:
Great people, decent prices, well stocked, and always down to contribute to the local scene.  There was seriously no scene in Buffalo before they opened up 3.5 years ago, and they hit the ground running.  Set up a team, made two videos and helped Jake Donnelly get hooked up and enter OIAM.

i must say, i liked meta a lot the few times i went down there. it was a much better atmosphere than the shop i went to that was in the same place as a p.f chang's and benihanna's(i don't know the name of the shop or what town it was in). it was a skateboarders skateshop down to the last corner. i also liked your reasoning abut why you support the companies you support, and don't support the companies you don't support

Just wanna say thank you to the folks at KCDC for putting up with one of the most insufferable questions shops deal with these days and checking on the wheelbase of a deck I'm interested in. Never been there, never bought anything online, yet within 12 hours they respond to my message (an Instagram dm, for God's sake) with photos of the measurement. It means a lot, and I'll be buying the deck!

Also while I'm here, I wanna give appreciation to the dudes at Premier in GR, Michigan. You guys are the best.

if any of you guys ever visit the beautiful city of gdynia in poland look up śledź shop, it’s the only real skateshop in the area. the website (sledzshop.pl) should be up soon. i work there from monday to friday. gdynia is a relatively cheap place to visit if you live anywhere west of poland and it’s great in the summer so if you’re ever in the area hit me up, i’ll grip your board and we can go skate after 7pm when i get off work :)
