Kinda surprised skate companies haven't tried charging more for bigger boards/wheels/trucks. I'm size 15 shoe and there was a stretch where I'd have to pay more for bigger shoes. I never liked Jordan because the were the first to charge an extra $30 if you were size 13+. The only time I've seen it so far is the && 9.13 used to be $20 more than the 8.45. Now they just raised the price of the 8.45 to $120.

Idk the economics of skateboard manufacturing, but the materials are probably a tiny fraction of overall costs. Time, power, marketing, rent, labour, shipping, storage. A few mm of wood would be negligible.

You know, I think I just find most of you extremely annoying and I find myself wondering why I bother coming back here. I enjoy it from time to time when I’m waiting somewhere or forgot to bring a book at an appointment. But lately everyone on here is more phony than usual and I think I’m just over it.
I’m on another forum for machining and there is none of this bickering and corniness. Just people enjoying a shared hobby. Sure there are disagreements but nothing like the shit on here. I feel like I’m dealing with teenage Taylor Swift fans and it’s a bit sickening.
That’s all. I’m going to just stop visiting. Problem solved.
It should be noted that he did, indeed, come back. And it was once again to share how pathetic he thinks Slap is.
I’ll never get why some people post so much about how much they hate posting here and coming here. To these kind of posters, you do realize the majority of the people reading your rants can see through your holier than thou facade and are just thinking “you know, you do realize you don’t have to come here, right?”

There was talk of Tyshawn doing a kickflip over the bench Nick Matthews did an Ollie over. He posted the ollie. I feel like he’s also done this before, posted an ABD just because. I do like his skating but that’s kinda distasteful, especially with no connection or shoutout to the other skater.

While I'd love to see that too, that would be insanely hard because the run up isn't straight, you have to curve into the pad from either the right or the left. But I guess if anyone could do it it'd be Tyshawn.

Wow, two very left field ideas.
A Tyshawn late-shuv is wild, the only mod to that I'd want would be late pressure flip
For some reason I can't see anyone getting pop out of a salad. With the tail pinched I'm just imagining the flip flopping off the rail over the gap.
Love the Pier 7 idea, at first I thought bondo the wood but looks possible from the sidewalk.

Not exactly the same, but those dweebs Richie and Melcher have something along those lines. It's set to Johnny Cash and Strummer's version of Redemption Redemption Song, where the nonce duo skates to Cash/Strummer part each and side vy side on shared parts of the song.

Chad Knight has been working with Chad Muska on bringing Muskas shoe to market (again?). What was interesting is that The Knight was talking about how The Muska owns the silhouette and is really just outsourcing the construction of the shoe. He sees a possible future where skaters own their own shoe, there is no shoe brand sponsoring them, and they just get connected in with factories that bring their design to life. Im butchering this from memory but thats the gist of it, that skaters could opt for less brand sponsorship and be the brand themselves.

I’d like to see pro boards mean something again like they did before my time. Have graphics (and shapes) associated with one rider that stick around for several years instead of releasing generic shapes with throwaway graphics quarterly.
Give me a Diego Todd board that he actually helped design and skates on a daily basis instead of an $80 BBS blank with some random heat transfer of a blurry photograph.
If boards are gonna be upwards of $70 I think we deserve a little more personality than the shite companies are churning out lately.

I think the odds are genuinely pretty good we'll see a skater involved in a physical altercation with an ICE incel...side rant, I just can't bring myself to call them "agents", that's too official of a term for a bunch of out of shape, dickless neckbeards cosplaying as Navy Seals while they storm a suburban Target in ill-fitting military surplus tactical gear to assault a teenager because he has tan skin.
I don't even like calling them "thugs", that makes them sound strong and scary, they'd welcome that.
I prefer ICE cowards, ICE incels, ICE shitbags, ICE virgins, etc.
Anything they can't rebrand as a badge of honor.

It was supposed to make their Backside Royale grinds go further because the angle of the wheel edge lined up with how the wheel would be sitting?

I remember hearing some idiots like P Rod, Mikey Taylor, James Cole or even Steve Borra (some geniuses, yes...) having the same conversation about boards. It was at the time that single board "Cobra Cole" was released and when P Rod was questioning the idea of starting Primitive as a board brand. It finally never really took off, and i am glad. I like the idea of a collective of skaters helping to define the identity of a brand.

I predict a Powell full-length that will lead into && SOTY run. The video will be hyped, and will try VERY hard to imitate the vibe of Bones Brigade videos. Cab, Lance, Tony, Rodney etc will all be marketed as being in the video, but really only have one or two tricks. The video will be just Okay. Kelvin Hofler will have the stand out part, but ultimately people will complain that there was too much of their actual team and not enough old dudes.

I tried watching a Dan Corrigan video once or twice, it's always some title like "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS BELOVED PRO SKATER WOULD SAY SOMETHING SO CONTROVERSIAL!!!"
Then after watching him eat breakfast, talk about his breakfast, get in his car, talk about his drive to the skatepark, get to the park, talk to his friends for 10 minutes, somewhere around the 17 minute mark of a 24 minute video he'll be like "Chris Heitt said yellow is the best Starburst flavor".
My prediction for 2026 - Gabbers remains the only rider to willingly leave Zero until late 2026 when, in a bittersweet move, Kairi Netsuke gets picked up by Plan B. Damn. We really wanted better for you Kairi but at least it's not Zero.
